“1 night - maybe”

Knights Inn Orlando

Jan 22, 2007

We decided to stay here one night because of a late arrival into Orlando before heading to the coast - checked in at 6pm & out at 8am. This hotel is like many others on International Drive. I shouldn't complain too much really because we paid $40 on a Friday night with Orbitz. It needs some updating, that is for sure. I wouldn't want to stay here long term, but would stay for a night just passing through.

Our room was on the second floor, facing the parking lot. If you stay here I do suggest you try and get a courtyard facing room. This will probably reduce the noise factor. It was very noisy! I could hear everything outside so had trouble sleeping and I am typically a heavy sleeper. The room was clean, I didn't find anything crazy or scary but the atmosphere just didn't feel great and I am used to these types of hotels.

I know they have scheduled rides to the parks and the pool looked ok. They also had a litle arcade and shop with food. There was a coffee maker and an ironing board/iron and a hairdryer - can't remember much else!

This hotel was horrible. We were sent by a reputable British holiday company but were badly let down. The room was dirty, the sheets soiled, the electric light was hanging off the ceiling in the bathroom and the front door showed signs it had been recently kicked and badly repaired. Some very odd peiople were wandering around outside. It did not feel safe. We checked out next day and paid for our own hotel further down International Drive. Once we had done that we had a great holiday.

Unfortunately we read the reviews after booking. Bad move. This place shouldn't even try to call itself a hotel it should be aptly named "Poop-hole".

After reading the reviews I thought, well maybe the people are overreacting...nope this place is truly a nightmare...if you have already paid, ask if you can change your hotel...it is NOT worth it!

1. Our first sight upon getting our room was what appeared to be a Pimp and his "Ho", and I don't mean Santa either!

2. The noise in this place was outrageous-you could hear every time a toilet flushed, every TV and everytime someone walked past the room. I may have gotten three hours of sleep each night.

3. The bed was like sleeping on rocks, so we figured we'd put the matress on the floor and we'd be OK...NOT...my husband is a Soldier and I'm a former Soldier so we are used to roughing it but I'd rather be sleeping in a tent in Iraq than stay at this Poop-hole!

For your own sanity just don't bother...we left two days early to drive back to NC and could not be happier.

On another note the Week before Christmas is a great time to visit Orlando, there were NO lines at Universal or Sea World!

The hotel is the worse and we have never experienced such horrible service before. It was so trashy that we couldn't wait to leave. The rooms are outdated and not kept up. The air condition sounds like an aircraft engine. The worse is the musty smell which smells like a wet dog. The beds creek like a unhinged door everytime you move. Turst me..Pay the extra 20 bucks a night to find a better place to sleep.

Only after having already booked our holiday to Florida and staying at the Days Inn on International Drive, we found this web sight. I was so horrified at some on the reports and was dreading going, in fact I was so upset about it that it almost runied my holiday before I even got there. After speaking to my Travel Agent who assured me that if I had any problems they would change my hotel at location. Having this little assurance myself, husband and two kids set off on Thursday 13th July 2006.
WHAT A SHOCK to find that our hotel room was clean, secure and NOT a cockroach in sight. We had house keeping ever day who provided clean towels, made the beds, hovered and cleaned the bathroom. We had a very secure safe and a refrigerator in the room. OK the air con was noisy but which one isnt and you need it. The hotel puts on a shuttle bus Free of charge to the Parks and back from them and having not hired a car we found this to be a great asset, and apart from a couple of times the bus was always on time.
Someone on this sight complained about the noise and all I can say to that is that it would not matter which Hotel you stayed in unless one with Triple glazing you will hear the noise, International Drive is a very very busy road all of the time but you get used to it and you are so tired from doing the parks that you fall asleep instantly. A lot of people I have spoken to back home who have done Florida say that nearly all the Hotels on I drive are the same and all could do with an upgrade, we stayed at this Hotel for 14 night and we NEVER had any bother from anyone even the Cockroaches.
All I can say to anyone going to this hotel is wait and see, dont expect the room to be of a class of a five star Hotel as it is not and I dont think there are many Hotels on I-Drive that are, but there was a lot of people staying here when I was there and everyone seemed pretty happy, including ourselfs and I dont think we were in the Only Clean room in the whole hotel.
If you are not happy about something complain at once as the staff are there to sort it.
Well I hope if nothing this puts seomones mind at rest that not everyone found this hotel to be that bad.
