“Good, but could be better!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014

We usually stay at a time share resort when in Orlando but since this time we were only there for 3 nights I chose this Radisson due to location and past reviews. I had requested a ADA room with roll-in shower as I have walking problems and use oxygen. I was very pleased to get such a room, that is up until I went inside and immediately discovered my view was a pink wall. (bake side of front pergola.) Then too I found it very difficult to maneuver my scooter into a place that would be out of the way. In short... the room was just a tad too small for use of scooters, and for big size wheel chairs. The space between the end of the bed and the dresser-closet was just too narrow. The room itself was not as big as expected, but overall a very nice room. It was clean, and the bathroom was ADA compliant, though more space to put bath items would have been much appreciated. The towels were all very good and real bath size, not these little scrimpy ones you so often get at hotels. The roll-in shower was set up very nicely, and there were grab bars as required around the toilet.

After getting settled in I started to look for a room service menu and could not find one. We were going out for dinner so I stopped off at the front desk and asked for one to be sent up to room as we might want to order breakfast. Well, needless to say the menu did not get sent, and I asked again and again over the 3 nights we were there and never did actually get a room service menu. Too bad as I would have probably used it once or twice.

On our second day we came back to room around 7pm and in need of some pool and spa time. Unfortunately the pool is not heated, as we soon discovered. On top of that the pool area was in shambles with towels everywhere, and food on the deck around the chase lounges. This was our first and last visit to the pool.

On our check out morning we decided to use the on site restaurant for breakfast. They do offer a decent buffet breakfast, but that is not something I do unless it is a very good ...and I mean great...buffet. This one was average overall, so we ordered from the menu and happy we did. The $9.99 breakfast with eggs, ham, potatoes, and bagel was excellent. I am not sure if they put anything on the menu about an automatic service charge, but beware that they did put a 15% service charge on our bill without actually telling us about it.

The hotel is located right off of I-4 and is very close to various Disney locations. Though that is good the bad part is the horrid traffic. At times getting out of the hotel parking lot was pure hell, and to get back unless you are going right in front of it you must go down the highway a bit and do a U Turn and come back. Also...beware of the gas station across the street as the were charging almost $2 more for a gallon of gas than normal. We drove in to get some and it was well over $5 a gallon, and we drove right back off and paid much less elsewhere. The only other bad thing I can actually come up with about this hotel is the hallway sound proofing. You can latterly hear any and all noise in the hallways, and on two nights we were woke up by people in the halls that were loud and-or had kids running up and down them.

Room Tip: If getting ADA disability room make sure to ask location and see if your view is blocked by pink wal...

Green Features: We noticed that the sinks in the bathrooms had no stoppers. This meant we had to run the water constantly when shaving.

This hotel is within 8 minutes of the 4 main disney parks. This hotel is anything but normal. It is very clean , and the beds are the best. Also this hotel cost about 30% of what the swan or dolfin hotel would cost. Ive stayed at the dolfin and swan and this hotels rooms are bigger and cleaner and the swan and dolfin dont provide microwave ovens in your room. This hotel does not charge for parking , and thet don't hav a resort fee. The Swan and Dolfin charge for parking and an additional 10.00 dollars each day for a bottle of water and paper . Also the Maneger and staff are extreamly nice people.

Room Tip: If you have young children , the washers and dryers are located on the 2nd floor.

This hotel is nothing special. You have to note that there is some groups of students enjoying springbreak. Swimmingpool is ok, but nothing aweson. Breakfast have to improve a lot. The área is quiet and you can find a little mall close to the hotel. It is far to Disney parks but it has shuttle to Epic, and then another to Disney

This hotel is pretty good value and has large comfortable beds. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The only thing I would NOT recommend is the breakfast that is an added extra and fairly uninspiring despite its "all you can eat" temptations. It costs around 55 dollars to the airport by taxi. A complimentary bus would make the hotel more competitive. The local shopping outlet sells mainly "designer" clothes and not much else and is therefore quite disappointing if you are looking for a variety of shops. Florida Mall is somewhat better and also enclosed but is around 30 dollars each way by Taxi from the hotel.

The hotel is situated between highways, but if you're a light sleeper, and request a quiet room the hotel staff will do all they can to help you. The sleep number beds aren't as intuitive as you may think - but once you get the setting right, they're as comfortable as you could wish for. Either look them up online to find your ideal sleep number, or give housekeeping a call to help. One word of warning, either housekeeping reset my bed one night, or it reset itself... just have a quick check of the display before you try to get settled.

Another great plus, you're absolutely surrounded by restaurants and fast food outlets - all within easy walking distance, many of which are 24 hour - so you won't have to venture too far to get fed. Downtown Disney itself is quite a trek on foot - downhill on the way there, uphill on the way back - so you may prefer to stay local.

If you're driving, as other reviews state, it is a pretty nasty U-turn to get into the hotel - but it's the same for most of the hotels in the area. I saw one tourist being bullied by a bus to pull out into five lanes of traffic to get across to a different hotel. The driving really is scary here, and it's the same all the way down Hotel Plaza Blvd. There was one full-on crash and numerous near misses in my 7 day stay. And although the shuttle service to Disney parks isn't great - I would advise against hiring a car if you're happy to be a bit of an adventurer.

With regards to the shuttle service, the first shuttle bus out arrives after rope-drop, and you'll be at the park all day unless you make your own arrangements to travel back. At the same time, that isn't a problem for an independent-minded traveller. There's a number 50 bus stop 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel, which takes you straight to Magic Kingdom for $2. Note: it's not the stop outside the hotel, walk towards the food outlets and cross the main road, The outbound bus stop is right outside of an IHOP, and opposite a Denny's, so you can get an amazing breakfast for a bargain price before leaving.

The number 50 bus service is about every 20 minutes, starts at 5am outbound, and runs back from the park until at least 11pm, and midnight on weekdays - you can easily get to all other parks via free Disney transport from where the bus drops you. Check the golynx website for more information. I sometimes took the Lynx bus out, and the hotel shuttle back, or I hopped between parks to break up the day.

Free wifi throughout the hotel... and free WIRED internet - so pack your ethernet cable. Also, no resort charges, or hidden extras, unlike other hotels in the area. Nice coffee maker, large fridge and a microwave in the room. The air conditioning can get a bit loud, but it's a soothing airplane droning type loud which can block out any other noise and help lull you to sleep.

For the price, it was an absolute bargain and a gem of a find. Provided you're willing to use your head to get around, this hotel could be the start of your most inexpensive Disney adventure to date.

Room Tip: If you're worried about the noise of the highway or elevator keeping you awake, ask in advance f...

We were going to stay on International Drive but were so glad we changed it to here. The location is spot on, you can see one of the entrances to Disney from it and you're just of the I4 junction so Universal is so easy to get to as well. The only negative was breakfast, which was pretty poor, however Perkins next door was great, we went 11days out of 15! The restaurants around are good too, Chevys and Johnnies hideaway being the best, we thought. It was a lovely clean place and everyone was very friendly. For the amount of time you actually spend in a Hotel on a Disney/Universal holiday,( which for us was basically sleeping!) this hotel was great. Would definitely stay here again, purely for location!

We booked this hotel for a two night stay while awaiting a cruise. All the staff were helpful and friendly. There is a free shuttle service to Disney and you can buy all your tickets in the lobby to avoid any lines. The location is ideal, there are lots of dining options and an outlet mall close by. The beds are sleep-number, very comfy. There is also visible security so you always feel safe.

Room Tip: Try to get a room as far from the elevators as possible, even if across the hall you can still hear...
