5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2013

My wife and 2 children (13 & 16) stayed here for 8 nights and loved the hotel. Great Hotel...great value...great location...would definitely stay again. We stayed in a family suite and felt that it was great value for money. No hidden costs.

The hotel itself is very nice. However, since it is adjacent to I4 you can hear trucks zooming by all night. We were in a room on the side facing the interstate. I'm sure the rooms on the opposite side could not hear it. Other than that a nice hotel and close to Downtown Disney and the parks. True what other reviewers said about having to pass the hotel and make a u-turn to enter the hotel when traveling southbound on State Road 535. I little inconvenient.

The Radisson was clean, functional and smart, but I can't pretend it was anything other than a hotel right next to an interstate. We weren't looking for much more on our one night stopover, but I don't think I'd go back. Reception sent us to the wrong room when we first arrived but didn't have much contact with staff otherwise (they did call to apologise later).

The hotel is conveniently located in between the 3 big entertainment zones. Everything is just 10 minutes drive away. Has everything you would expect from a Radisson (clean rooms, aircon, free wifi, friendly and helpful staff).

There are plenty of "family" hotels in & around the Disney area that cater to little ones - but very few that are geared towards older children and/or adults doing the park thing or on business travel. This hotel is perfect for this sector.

This hotel gets high marks on almost all points. It is newish (5 yrs), rooms are clean, large and very functional as they include a microwave, fridge & coffee maker. The location is a 10-20 min drive to all the Disney/Universal Parks. There are NO resort fees or charges for wifi, local calls or parking. The pool & hot tub are open until 11pm daily. A convenient coin laundry room ($2 wash/$2 dry) is on the 2nd floor but you will need to bring your own detergent.

There are complimentary shuttles from the Hotel to the parks daily - but be aware that they "pull away" at the posted time so you MUST be outside a few minutes beforehand.
EPCOT: Dep. 8:35 am & 12 pm - Rtn: 8:45 pm & 9:30 pm
UNIVERSAL/ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE: Dep. 9:05 am - Rtn 6:45 pm
MAGIC KINGDOM: Dep. 10:00 am - Rtn. 10:30 pm
HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS: Dep X (take Epcot shuttle) - Rtn 5:35 pm & 6:15 pm

The restaurant has a very basic & generic menu, fine if you don't want to go out - but next door at the Crossings Mall is a plethora of restaurants to choose from as well as a 24 hr Super Market to stock up on your own breakfast items. I ate dinner at Red Lobster & Uno's, and enjoyed both meals.

We stayed in the family suite (5 nts in mid April) with a separate room with king bed & main room with 2 queen beds. It was very spacious and well worth the extra 35% charge per night. Though it was around the corner from the haunted elevator (yes it groans), with the sleep rest bed & ear plugs, I slept very well.

Getting in & out of the hotel to and from the parks was not a big deal at all, yeah sometimes you had to go up a block & come back, but not nearly as inconvenient as some people have made it out to be.

I would definitely return to this hotel if I am ever this way again. What you get for the price would be very hard to beat. The Management & staff really make the difference, its obvious that they are happy in what they do and they care about their customer's satisfaction.

Room Tip: As others have mentioned, the elevator is noisy, the 01 - 06 rooms are probably quieter. We were in...

Excellent rooms, spacious, very clean rooms. Service was great too. A card and a balloon in the room for a girl in our party celebrating her birthday was a nice touch, much appreciated.
I would not recommend the breakfast at the restaurant though. The menu on the hotel website indicates that juice is included in the price of the buffet, but only coffee and tea are. We used a restaurant.com coupon, and they charged a 20 percent gratuity on top of the gratuity that was signed in, and would not entertain a request to refund the gratuity. That was the only sore point in an otherwise excellent stay.

Orlando is not very picturesque and the hotel lies at the intersection of 2 very busy highways. Also there is weird and rundown giftshop with cheap items next to it. There is a pool, but in essence you are having a dip with a highway next to you.

descent, practical but not charming
