We were after a budget hotel and Thomas Cook came up with this. We thought it would be great, as we didn't have the car, as was told it was just off idrive.
Well it is quite a bit of a walk to the nearest north south i trolley stop. There is a stop outside the hotel, but it isn't the main line one. Check i ride website to see what I mean and where these get you.
As for the hotel, it was so damp everywhere. They had a lot of dehumidifiers everywhere but they don't seem to be working too well.
I got food poisoning from the breakfast buffet ,100% sure it was that, as it is the only thing my o/h and I didn't eat the same, and I was ill, he wasn't.
I also got a very bad ear infection from the pool.
We now stay at the Clarion Universal which is currently 100th on here at a very similar price.
I deffinately wouldn't ever go back here.

We stayed here as a group of 6 people. I realise it was a budget hotel and not on the main strip of International Drive but the service was appalling, the reception staff are not very helpful it took us 4 hours to check in as they could not find our booking and told us to do all the ringing around to solve the problem instead of offering us a phone or offering any help. The house keeping service was very basic. The corridors were very smelly. The so called Gift Shop comprises of a drink vending machine and a chair & table!! It then took us 30 minutes to check out because of incompent staff.......We have stayed in Florida before and the service was nothing like this from another budget hotel..I wont reccomend this place to anyone...There is however a good irish bar next door to drown your sorrows!!!!!!!!!

Management Response

(Management representative)

Many guests book through third party wholesalers, who in turn book through other agencies. If they fail to send the reservation to the hotel we will not have it when they arrive. Because there is no way for us to know which agency a reservation is being processed through, we do have to ask the guest to contact the people they booked through. If we have not received a reservation, the incompentence is not ours.

“This Place Is The Worst Place Ever”

Imperial Swan Hotel & Suites

The only good thing about this place is that it is cheap. Check in time is 3:00. We arrived at 2:30 thinking that we may be able to get in a little early. We went in and they said that the room wasn't ready yet, but to come back in about 45 minutes and until then we could use the pool. There are 2 pools. One of them looked very nice, but it was broken so we had to use the second pool which had rusty, stained chairs to relax in. We went back to check in about an hour later and the room still wasn't ready. They ended up not giving us our room until 6:00, three hours after check in time! The lobby is very nice, but it is deceiving. The rooms are horrible. Bathrooms are old and dirty and the towels that they gave us had stains all over them. It was just totally disgusting. Even if i got paid to stay here, i would never step foot in this place again. I can usually tolerate a lot, but this hotel is unacceptable. Please listen to me and DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want to be agravated and possibly contract some sort of disease. This is more than just a bad experience. This seems to be protocol for this place. I guess you get what you pay for.

AWFUL, AWFUL, and did I say, AWFUL!!!

The reception area gives you a completely false image of what lies within....The reception area is reasonably nice, clean, big sofas and chairs everywhere....but then you go into the hallways, and the place is absolutely filthy!! The walls are full of grime and dirt, and then you get to your room, and the beds are filthy, even the mattress bases are minging!!

Our toilet in the first room was constantly flushing, and the shower tap came off if you turned it too fast, not to mention the very lukewwarm water that came out of it....not once did we get a hot shower in that room.

I asked to move rooms, due to the fact that I went to bed, and woke up covered in bites....I had only been in bed :( Urgh!!! They changed my room easily enough, the woman at the front desk seemingly not surprised by my complaint.....HOWEVER!! I woke up the following morning in the new room, only to find a hundred more bites all over me!! That takes the saying "Don't let the bed bugs bite" to a whole new level!!

I also found that the rooms have a funky smell to them....once you have sprayed your bodyspray and perfume a few times, it becomes less apparent, but it is still there nevertheless.

A few members of the staff I found to be very pleasant and friendly, but there are a few others who spoil it, and who I found to be quite rude and unhelpful.

Also beware if you like a cup of tea....this hotel does not provide 'tea kettles', only perculators that get WARM at a push....we had to go to walgreens and buy the equivalent to a kettle, called a hotpot.
The towels frequently came with hairs on them, which we had to change,
and I dread to think what goes on with the bedding.

If you do stay here, take advantage of the fantastic 'Gift Shop' in the lobby....Once you see it, you will know why I am laughing lolol
My advice if you want to stay at this hotel.....go to therapy, because you have some major issues!

The are nothing as what they say. We booked a room on the first floor pool side. We got a room on the first floor but with a wall to look at. They said they had two different pools I only found one. The hotel halls was nasty and smelly. We dicided to stay until morning so we get ready for bed. Well at 3am I wake up and I have bug bites on my arms an leg. It took me three trips to the front desk to get my money back and to leave.
