We arrived on May 6th and this was my Mothers Day Present to myself and family. Fort Wilderness Campground is the best with plently of thing to do. You will always find a friendly face and most everyone is happy and willing to wave and talk to you at the drop of a hat. The internal buses are great with a maximum wait of 20 minutes to get to the Parks. We us a golf cart which is always helpful and can be rented at the bike barn but you must make a reservation in advance if you want to rent one because they book up fast. You can always find plenty of groceries in either of the 2 stores in the campground and the prices are really reasonable. The Tavern is great to sit and have a few drinks with rocking chairs on the porch and great atmosphire with people all about going to the Hoop Dee Do which is a dinner show that is also a must do. I must say WE LOVE DISNEY and are there 5x's a year.

We have 3 children. Two daughters age 21 and 15 and our 9 year old son.
When we ask our children where they want to go, they ALWAYS choose Disney's Fort Wilderness Campground! You can stay in the campground and never enter the theme parks and have the time of your lives! Our children have even chosen going camping at Fort Wilderness over having a birthday party! It is an excellent fun filled Family adventure! Perfect time to relax, and bond with your children. We choose to camp in our 4-room, 10 man tent over the cabins. Something about camping in a tent, and not having the comforts of home make it even that much more special! On our last day, we always go down to the docks (weather permitting) and we rent one of the mini boats for each of the girls, myself and my husband and son are together in one. We drive all over the lagoon, for a full hour of fun in the sun. They kids love it! The all you can eat buffet meals are well worth the price, for both dinner and breakfast. The evening camp fire activities and movies are a hit! This is something you must try! I'm sure you will love it just as much as everyone else!

“Fort Wilderness Campground”

The campground was very nice. They are little tight to get your 5th wheel in and out but we finally made it. The nice about the campground is the shuttle buses that take you to the different Disney theme parks. All free and they run every 15 minutes. It saves you time and money. You didn't have to pay to park at the parks and the buses dropped you off by the main gate.

We had an awesome time and look forward to going back soon.

“Tough place for teens”

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground

This is my third time to Disney, first with "Fort Wilderness". Although the camping expirence was a welcome change, families with teenagers should be prepared with "boredom", which we all know is not uncommon. The resort has allot of activities for the youngerones, but if your kids are in the 13-17 group, there isn't much to do except ride a bike, fish (if you do), or swim. The resort lacks an open field, where one can through a baseball or football without worrying about hiting a $160,00.00 motor home, or hiting a windshield. This will most likely be our last and only trip here.

“A wonderful world away!”

Our family spent a week in February 2005 at the Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. This Disneyworld Resort is off the beaten path and what a wonderful departure!
This was our 6th trip to Disney and our 5th Disney Resort. We have always enjoyed staying on Disney property because it enhances the 'get away from the real world' feeling; but the Fort Wilderness Campground area was all that and more! Our private cabin had sleeping for six, our own deck, barbeque grill, and private off street parking. It was great to have a kitchen for early morning and late night snacks. And being 'in the woods' was so private... but with the extra blessing of the excellent Disney maid service!
There is so much to do right in the campground; it is a vacation in itself! On this trip we only went into the Disneyworld parks 4 of our 7 days, and we were still only able do a fraction of all that was available. There are 2 pools, extensive walking trails, boating, horseback riding, and a petting zoo. You can also rent bike carts or golf carts. In the evening there are 'front porch sing alongs' and Characters Chip & Dale host a campfire complete with smores! The best of all are the Disney movies every night on a huge screen under the stars! What a treat!
I could go on and on, it was truly and excellent vacation for all of us.
