“It's A Disney Value Resort”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2009

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort is Disney’s version of a value resort. If you stay at the Disney All-Star Sports or any other the Disney value property you will still have a few of the amenities many of the other Disney properties have such as the top notch Disney customer service, transportation and Extra Magic Hours at the theme parks. These amenities alone are enough for many travelers to stay at the All-Star Sports. The down side however is, you give up some amenities as well such as a fitness area, a pool with a water slide and hot tub, top notch restaurants and a few others. For some travelers this is okay. Many people are fine wit the several large pools located throughout the Value Resorts property, and many families with small children will never use the fitness area anyways.
The room itself while small was no different than a normal hotel room. Every day the room was made and the housekeeping staff would make cute towel animals and leave them on our beds to great us after our long days at the theme parks or around the Disney property. The service from all Disney employees is always second to none and even the All- Star Sports is no exception. Any time you ever needed to speak with someone they were more than willing to assist you, as long as you had the patience to wait in the sometimes lengthy lines at the front desk or at the customer service desk.
The food court was like any you would find in your local mall. While most other Disney properties have nice and elegant restaurants, The All-Star resorts only offer you a simple food court with food that is somewhat affordable. Be forewarned however, in the evenings after the parks close, the lines at both the ordering windows and to check out can be rather long.
In the mornings (around 6 or 7am) it tended to be rather noisy as this is when many families get up to eat breakfast and head to the parks. While we did have an incident with a very noisy neighbor one evening, this was not Disney’s fault and I am not going to be THAT Trip Advisor critic who blames Disney for this incident.
In conclusion, While Disney’s All-Star Sports and the other Disney “Value” properties seem like a great deal, for a few dollars less a night one can find a deal at one of the hotels located on Hotel Blvd. While you will not have amenities such as Extra Magic Hours or can say you are staying on Disney property, you are still close enough (walking distance) to Downtown Disney where you can utilize their transportation while staying at a resort with top notch pools, inside rooms, restaurants instead of a food court, Free WiFi, Business Center and many other amenities you give up staying at the All-Star Sports. But like I said, even though those plush hotels on Hotel Blvd. are on Disney property, it still isn’t Disney.

Well, traveled to WDW first time April 2007 and again Sept 2008. On recommendation from my AAA agent , we stayed at the All Star Sports and booked the dining plan. Best decision ever!!! Funds were limited and a value resort with the dining plan was our best option. We looked at the different Disney restauraunts on line, and booked some very nice and expensive ones. No complaints at all about any of the food anywhere. Dining plan is worth every penny. One meal for three people at one restauraunt would have cost in excess of $200.00 had we been paying. Sept 08 had three rooms All Star Sports, group of eight folks. No complaints at all about the hotel, or services anywhere in any park.. Paid for a grand gathering experience, also worth every penny. The square footage of a value resort vs moderate is not that great, and if you plan to spend your time in the parks and not your room, value resort is THE WAY TO GO!!!!!

My family and I just returned home after 1 week at Disney and we're already planning our next visit!! We were hesitant about staying at All Star Sports or any of the value hotels for that matter, its not the type of resort we typically stay at, however, we had the most amazing vacation! Marco and the rest of the staff were very accommodating and helpful, they even welcomed us as "Family Of The Day" with balloons, a certificate, and a picture of our entire family. Housekeeping was amazing, welcoming us home every night with different towel creations, so cute! The location of the resort is conveniently located for easy access to the parks and other resorts. We don't have any complaints. Tip: Unless you plan on packing meals into the parks I highly reccommend purchasing the dining plan, you will save a TON of money. Oh yeah if you rent a car be sure to get a parking pass, it lets you park for free at the parks and other resorts, very valuable! We hope your stay is as "Magical" as ours was! Can't wait to go back!!

I booked a special offer for my 9-year old son and myself of buy 4 nights (including park tickets) and receive 3 free! What a great deal... I have never before been able to afford to go for 7 nights (8 days) and it was so fabulous to have fun, relax, and not stress about trying to pack as much as possible into a few short days. I upgraded to the water-park and more option, which is a great value considering it only was around $100 more, and a waterpark for a day is over $80. This option included sooo much!!! Well worth it! Also, I added the Disney Dining Plan because of the savings it showed. I hate stressing about having enough money with me or in my bank account as we travel, and it was nice to have it pre-paid in addition to the savings. We did the quick-service meals, which were more than great. There is a place that offers quick service at every turn, and we had 11 snacks left over even at the end our trip. We ended up bringing home Mickey rice krispy ears to have and to share! The brownies are also the BEST by the way, and their chocolate crossiants. The room was spotless and 'Mousekeeping' was simply great. They worked their 'tails' off!!! :) Even though it was a value resort, you were never ever made to feel like it. Magical Express from the airport was an awesome way to start our trip. WE LOVE DISNEY!!! I wish I could move there :)

We absolutly loved our stay here. I think you would also. Disney does service right! However, if you do not like noise at night, request a room that does not face the pool.

This was our first stay at this resort, and we absolutly loved it! It was very clean, the staff were very nice and it was just an over all great expeirence! We're going back next year and we are going to stay here again! Also, this place is great for the Kids...my son loved it. The only down side is that the rooms are kind of small...but other than that it was awesome!

4th time staying at an All-Star resort and 3rd time at Sports. Great decor that appeals to kids and adults that are still kids. Couple of pools that are warm and clean. Bus transportation requires alot of patience and it appears that the lower you spend on the resort, the lower the priority you are when it comes to bus transportation service. Be prepared to wait 20 - 35 minutes for a bus when traveling around. Take the monorail or boat transportations as much as possible. Cafe is alittle pricy but food serves the purpose. Kids are running everywhere so do not expect peace and quiet here. Eat breakfast early at Sports cafe, leave for the parks 45 minutes before they open, stay extra magic hours, back to hotel pool and you will sleep through whatever noise there maybe. Hotel pool is open 8a.m-12p.m. which is very convenient.
