5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

Well we visited the hotel Oct 27-29 2012 it was great. You should really be proud of your employee sebastain he was very very helpful. He printed out directions and tried to find somewhere for us to go that was close with such a short stay. But the whole staff was great and the room. I read someone complainting about the kitchen being small obivously they haven't been around to other residence inn because I seen quite a few that size also as far as these people complaining about the wear and tear on the furniture it wasn't as bad as what they say I only saw that in the lobby. My family and I love the residence inn hotels and will continue to stay there

Room Tip: Just make sure you check the reviews and look at the photos

As a frequent traveler I have stayed at many Marriott properties. This particular Resdence Inn stood out for the exceptional service and very nice rooms. I was fortunate to be upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite, which had all the amenities of home. The front desk staff was extremely helpful in arranging lunch and other activities for our group

Wife and two daughters in tow, it was a pleasant surprise to see the sizeable rooms, separate living room, full kitchen, friendly staff and a great location near the airport. With lots of restaurant choices, and easy access to bighways heading in every direction this hotel was a real gem. For the chic functionality I have come to expect from Marriott establishments, it was well done at this loaction to make you feel welcome from arrival to depature. Breakfast is full of choices and cocktail reception is a must! This loaction is a top pick for me and now for even my very picky family!

We flew in the day before our Disney Cruise and wanted a place that would be comfortable for a family of five and convenient to the airport. The airport shuttle efficiently picked us up from the airport and check-in was efficient. We made it just in time to catch the end of the Evening Social. There was a light dinner, just enough for us where we didn't have to go get dinner - much appreciated after a long day of travel. (See photos for the daily menu from August 2012).

The property is the standard modern Residence Inn architecture and decor, very nice, efficiently laid out with nice amenities. We stayed in a one bedroom suite on the fifth floor with two queen beds and the room worked well for us and was clean and in good condition. I did not notice any issues with worn furniture or any other facilities issues like other reviewers found. I enjoyed the large business center/"living room" area across from the front desk, very comfortable.

Breakfast was standard RI fare, a step up from continental with a few hot dishes. It was busy in the breakfast room but most of the food was efficiently replenished.

Our only minor quibble was related to the shuttle back to the airport to catch the cruise bus. There is a signup sheet at the front desk for the hotel's airport shuttle. We signed up for the 11:00am shuttle when we checked in but when we came back the next morning someone had replaced the sheet for that day and our names were not on the shuttle list. We put our names back on the list, so that was taken care of. The shuttle was about 15 mins. late - we would like liked better on-time performance but fortunately our time window was flexible.

Overall, though short, a nice stay. I would stay again.

RedwoodShores305~We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us recently before your Disney Cruise. We have quite a few people that stay here throughout the year who are on their way to the cruise ports. Our hotel is definitely convenient to the airport, and usually our shuttle service is prompt. I am sorry that the shuttle was late to pick you up when you were leaving. I hope that you will try to stay with us again in the future.--Jennifer Harper, GM

2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

This was a tough one to rank. The two stars reflect on the property and not on the service and personnel. The service was exceptional especially the Assistant General Manager, the morning breakfast personnel, and the night auditor.

The a/c was not working properly in the first room we had and after a very warm and humid night we changed rooms the second day. The second room a/c worked fine. However, the a/c in the hallway was not working properly so the hallway walls were covered with mold. Because this is humid Florida, the a/c must be run or there will be mold buildup.

Marriott needs to put some money into refurbishment or replacement of the furniture. I note the GM in previous reviews said the furniture is being repaired. What we saw: the living room chair is still the same worn/torn chair, however they have put covers on the arms to hide the wear and tear. Unfortunately, this does not apply to the ottoman or desk chair which was all tattered as well, and the couches were stained.

Additionally, housekeeping should be addressed. The floors especially need a major scrubbing. The bathroom floors and the common area tile floors were quite dirty. And we had used/soiled towels rolled up for us to use. ..Gross.

We usually like the newer Residence Inns, but probably would not return to this one.

Sezme~Thank you for your honest feedback of your stay here at our hotel in September. Your positive remarks about the AGM and people who work here were quite encouraging. In regards to the wear and tear of the furniture, the solution for the arm chairs is a temporary one while a search is being conducted to get similar chairs put into the suite. The other furniture and foot stools are also being worked on for a solution. Since your stay here, the A/C has been repaired in the public areas, so there is better air flow. I realize this particular stay was less than perfect. I hope you will decide to give us another chance, so that we can exceed your expectations. Please contact us directly for your reservation.--Thank you again, Jennifer Harper-GM

We stayed six nights on August 25-31. We were very pleased at the location, suite room, meals provided. The rooms and hotel are clean! Not only was there a hot breakfast but also an evening dinner. I beleive they call it a "manager’s reception". Whatever they called it we just loved it. You can’t beat this deal as you will save money on meals. Because of the rain and our schedule, we did not use the pool but it seems nice too. The staff was courteous and accommodating to our need for a two bed suite. We will stay here again and we have been recommending it to our friends and family to stay here and/or to try other locations too. SEE YOU AGAIN!

Room Tip: If you book a one bedroom, ask for one with two beds. The rooms are small so having two beds would...

FamilyFunAllentown~Thank you very much for your positive remarks about your stay at our hotel in August. We're definitely built for "longer" stays, as we provide as much as we possibly can to make our guests feel that we're their home away from home. Stayed here mid-August 2012 for a few days before a cruise. Arrived in Orlando at almost 2am and when I rang the hotel a free shuttle bus picked us up within 15 minutes of the call which was well welcomed after a long flight. Checkin was quick too and it was a pleasant surprise to find a spacious 1 bedroom appartment which was very clean, well equiped and very nicely decorated. The separate living area incorporated a small dining table and kitchen area which had a big American-style, ice-generating fridge-freezer and a very large microwave. Breakfast was adequate and consisted of a few hot and cold selections but best of all a waffle making system with good topping selections, loved that. Early evening the hotel also provided a complimentary snacks which I thought would only be a drink and packet of crisp for example but it actually turned out to be a good meal consisting of hot and cold selections and even alcohol. That was a nice touch. The pool and jacuzzi was perfect for that hot sun and the gym was small but good enough for an adequate workout. The only fault I had with this hotel was it's location as only a few shops and places to eat nearby and quite costly to take a taxi to the malls and attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for pool view

Cynthia A~Thank you very much for your positive remarks about our hotel from your stay in August. You're right about the surrounding area only having a few shops and places to eat. That's why we provide such a spread for breakfast and the light snacks in the evening for our guests. We hope to see you again sometime.--Jennifer Harper, GM
