“Wonderful Stay at Vista Cay Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013

We just returned from a week's stay at this resort and I must say, how impressed we were with the condominium unit. The unit was extremely large and spacious. It was tastefully furnished. We stayed in a 3 bedroom upgraded unit--the beds were fine, the pillows were fluffy. The kitchen was fully furnished with all of the cooking utensils one would need; Our unit faced the parking lot; it would have been nicer to be facing the lake, but, nevertheless, it was quiet in the evenings; the staff attended to all of our needs and questions; garbage is picked up outside the unit every day except on Tuesdays; the pool was warm and clean; the lounge chairs were plentiful and comfortable--you can request beach towels when you check in. I would advise you renting a unit from Millenium and not an individual owner or other property manager. When we had a concern or issue, the Millenium staff promptly responded. We heard that this was not the case for other vacationers who were dealing with the owners directly or with other property managers. Vista Cay is ideal for families who want to be close to Universal Studios, Seaworld or the other parks; it is also close to shopping malls, mini golf and restaurants. We will definitely be returning to Vista Cay next year!

“Great property, Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

My wife, daughter and I stayed here for 7 nights. It was a great condo/pool! If we ever go back to Florida for short or long term vacation we will definitely stay here! We had a , 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo. It had washer and dryer and everything you'd need for your stay! The staff was great. We had electrical outage, planned for repairs, and got comped at the great golf course across the street. They had a pool that was great and also heated. The carpet was stained some and the place had a bit of wear but was clean, the bedding was clean and the beds were very comfortable. We usually always stay in hotels and all have our separate rooms but this was great so we could all be together yet still have privacy. Just a short ride to all the attractions and dining.... Reasonable pricing for the condo! We will definitely stay again!

Room Tip: Ask for premium room, twice the size for 7% more cost

“Awesome!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

My parents, brother and sister-in-law, and my family of 4 went on vacation together and stayed here for 2 nights, prior to our cruise. It was the best experience ever! If we ever go back to Florida for short or long term vacation we will definitely stay here!
We had a 3 story, 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom condo. It had washer and dryer and everything you'd need for your stay! The staff were great. They had a pool that looked great but we didn't get to enjoy as we were so busy out and about the city.
The carpet was stained some and the place had a bit of wear but was clean, the bedding was clean.
We usually always stay in hotels and all have our separate rooms but this was great so we could all be together yet still have privacy.
Just a short $16 taxi ride to Universal Studios and City Walk....
Reasonable pricing for the condo!
We will definitely stay again!

“Beautiful Property, Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2013

We stayed in a 3 bedroom premium condo in February 2013. We were very pleased. There are 2 reasons I didn't give it a 5 --- there was no type of wheeled bell cart to assist with hauling suitcases, etc to the unit, and the hall was a bit musty (the unit was fine). With that being said, we would stay there again. The condo was very spacious and high end. The location was wonderful (we visited WDW, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Universal and Kennedy Space Center) and we felt very safe.

“Second Visit a Tad Lacking”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

A return to an annual trade show brought us back to Vista Cay because of our outstanding experience last year. I booked early through our industry rep and I was disappointed not to be able to get confirmation on a town home (3 bed/3-1/2 baths) for our dates so instead booked a 3 bed/2 bath unit and wait-listed for the larger unit, which didn't clear by the deadline. As advised, close to the time of the show, I did call Vista Cay direct, and Jessica on site was very helpful and found us a town home at no up charge. I was thrilled to have the extra space because of traveling with 3 female staff members - the extra bathrooms are a real plus.

As mentioned by another reviewer, these units are operated by several management companies, which is extremely confusing for the user. When requesting pool towels at the front desk, I was asked what company I had booked through and that I would have to get pool towels from them - not likely! The unit we were assigned was obviously just a rental, not an owner-rental like we had last year, and the furnishings and condition a definite step down. The carpet was discolored in a few places, the furnishings also in the dark, heavy Mediterranean style which seems to be the preferred decor in this resort (in Florida???), the "wall art" cheap and oddly placed, the curtain rods hung crooked, the lamp in the master bedroom wobbly. You get the picture. Another pet peeve of mine - rumply sheets. On my bed in the master suite, the king bed had a flat sheet on the bottom and a queen sheet on top. Needless to say, I spent time every night and morning tugging on the sheets to get them tight.

All that said, the unit was very clean and spatially accommodating for our group of 4 women. The resort is attractive and well maintained. The pool area is large with several areas for sunning or gathering. Based on my experience last year, I planned ahead and brought extra soaps, shampoos, trash bags and dishwasher soap, which is easy only because I come by car from the Florida west coast, meeting up with staff that fly in from the northeast. The Publix close by filled in the gaps for coffee, snacks, wine and soft drinks. A Walgreens on the other corner is within walking distance. The units are "self-catering" which means no one comes into the unit during your visit, but you are on your own with bed making, managing dirty dishes, discarding trash and washing towels.

Although we traveled to and from the convention center by shuttle bus, I feel a car is essential to visit the surrounding areas of interest and the restaurants and shops along International Drive, unless you want to pop for a cab ride each time, which is about $10 including tip. The airport has shuttle transportation available, but it's easily accessible from this location by toll road 528 and is about a 15 minute drive.

In spite of the shortcomings of this unit, I would stay at Vista Cay again. I have tried a number of places in the convention center area, and have also had feedback from colleagues who have stayed other places, and as long as we continue to come to this event in a pack, this arrangement suits my needs the best and is a good value for housing us all together.
.

Room Tip: Town home units are on the perimeter and some back on to Universal Drive, which is noisier.

Thank you for your feedback during your recent stay at the resort; we are looking into some of your observations, as we have an ongoing preventive maintenance program. to ensure that all of our units are always in the best shape for all of our guests.
We have had a very busy 1st Quarter, and due to the high occupancy, it is possible that our housekeeping staff might have overlooked some of those areas and due to the high traffic missed them.
We can assure you that we take our customers feedback very seriously, by addressing those areas of opportunity mentioned in your review.
We thank you again for your feedback and look forward to having you with us again in a near future
