“Great Hotel Cool Water Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

We have two young children (one and a half) and (four and a half). They both absulety love it at this resort. The staff is friendly and on point. If you need a thing just call the front desk with in 5 mins (at most) they are at your door to help you. The prices are very reasonable considering what you get. A free waterpark with your nights stay. I highly recommend if you are in town to "see Orlando" that you spend at least a day at the water park. Our 4 year old is tall 42 inches so she could ride every ride except one. We travelled in April for a night then again in May before the school lets out. There were no lines anywhere. The one ride you had to be 48 inches to ride one of the staff members watched our girls while we went down it. Pools are large lots of fun for the whole family. The food at the Tradewinds restaurant was good and not very expensive. The restaurant has kid meals (only $5.00) its a huge helping of chicken tenders and fries enough for both children and even left overs. We packed snacks for the kids in our room like Juice and fruit. There is nothing you can't find on international drive. Make sure you visit the Dollar store right across the street. We went to a few and the one right across the street was selling the same items all under $3 where it was 10 to 20 dollars in other stores. My only one complaint was the bar staff was very slow. But the drinks are reasonably priced so that made up for that. The entire water park is great rooms are good if you are traveling with younger children I would say under 10 this is the place to go. Much cheaper then Wet and Wild and the kids can ride everything. We went twice in 2 months (though we live only 2.5 hours away.

Room Tip: I would get room by the water park so if you are walking with young children you don't have far...

Coco key is a favorite of my families! We have a 3year old and 6 year old and they love this hotel!!! 3Big water slides, large mid size slides with water obstacle course & 2 slides for young ones in a walk in pool that has water features! Arcade, on site restaurant, bar. Remodeled rooms, good location on International Drive for evening activities & walking around. After a day at the water slides we like to move to pool with cabanas, swim & order pizza! Great family times!

Room Tip: Ask to be where the rooms are interior, as opposed to outside entry.

This hotel has a great location. There's restaurant's near by, gas stations and especially theme parks. The service was great. I have a 2year old and he enjoyed the water park. He was in there for about 4hrs. The kiddie water section has heated water. Everyone including the life guards were excellent. I recommend this hotel for families with kids.

Room Tip: The second floor by the water park has a excellent/ great value.

Upon arriving, the front desk staff were efficient and friendly. Check in was quick. We made our way to our room, it was a nice size and clean. Once there we realized the water park closed at 7, so we decided to check out the hotel. We found the game room. My children 10& 2/12 loved it. Again the staff in the game room were very friendly and accommodating.
The following morning we went down for the buffet breakfast. Prices were great and the food was good also. Once again we were met with friendly, helpful staff.
About 10:30 we noticed a large group coming into the water park. We split up and made a dash for chairs at 11:00. We were only able to get 3 lounge chairs for 4 adults. The pool area was a bit chaotic, but with that being said the life guards were every where and very attentiative.
We had a great trip and plan on visiting Coco key again over the summer!!

We booked this stay through GroupOn and could not be more satisfied. We had our kids and grandkids stay from May 17 through the 19th and we all had a wonderful time. The Waterpark is fantastic and the kids loved it. Rooms were clean and well kept, and the service and food was great! You can't go wrong with this! We live in Orlando and we will absolutely be back!

We were just at the Coco Key resort may 17-19th and as usual we had a wonderful time. We are locals who come to this resort with our extended family every year and we have never regretted it. The staff have always been friendly, rooms clean, plenty of towels, and comfortable beds. The waterpark is great, clean, alot of fun for ages 2 up, it has the bucket and slide area, another smaller slide area for younger kids and then the bigs slides for kids and adults. The waterpark hours were 11-7pm as advertised on their on their website, we got to the Hotel by 11.30am and couldn' t believe our luck as the room was already available for us, sometimes we have to wait until 1pm but we still get to use the waterpark that day as soon as it opens and even on your last day you can use the waterpark the whole day, there are bathrooms with changing areas and lockers if needed. The do sell day passes but they don't overdo it, they hit capacity early on saturday for daypasses and we didn't feel like we had to wait overlong for slides, the only compaint I had was that at times the wait to get a waterfloat was long, I have spoken with the manager about this and he is working on a solution. I look forward to next year's visit. I think this is the best deal on I-drive.

Room Tip: Rooms in the tower are quieter and they have elevator access.

We stayed here for two weeks arriving on 6th May 2013 until Yesterday. We booked the hotel through Thomson Travel Agents with a package which included park tickets and flights ect. That was excellent value for money. When we arrived at the hotel we checked in within minutes and were given our wristbands for the use of the waterpark. They do ask for a $50 deposit on the room at check in.

If you have not got a car hire like us, we used the I-Ride Trolley and Lynx buses to get around. They are very easy to use and we would recommend buying unlimited passes for your duration of the stay. A couple of places to eat on IDrive would be Millers Ale House, TGI Fridays(Pointe Orlando) and Magginos(Pointe Orlando). We also ate breakfast at IHOP a few times and for the money you pay it is a bargain.

Rooms-
The rooms were large with two double beds, two chairs and a table. A small fridge which was very handy, free safety deposit box and a 32inch tv. There also was an iron and ironing board within the room. The rooms were very clean and fresh towels and linen were given every day. The air conditioning is a little bit noisy but you do get used to it.

Location-
The hotel is in a brilliant location near the top of international drive with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. It was around 10 minute bus to universal and if you got the bus to disney around 1hr15.

Pools-
The pool was ok, we only used it twice in the two weeks. The water was very salty and did not seem to have any chlorine in it. Both the pool and the Jacuzzi was very very hot (a bit too hot for the climate) The only bad thing about the pool is at a weekend it attracts alot of people who only use the hotel for the waterpark and pool. On the first week the pool was taken over by a large group of rowdy Hispanics who decided to play their own music loudly. Considering this is a family resort they were very intimidating and there behaviour was awful. The good thing was the hotel security sorted it out straight away and explained to us that they would take no messing about.

Unfortunately their rowdy behaviour carried on friday night and saturday night by running around the hall ways shouting and screaming. (This is no fault of the hotel as in the week it is very quiet)

Overall we had a lovely time in florida and would definitely return to this hotel. The only recommendations we would have is to put on some evening entertainment and maybe a bigger outside bar for guests to relax at night.

We can not really comment on the waterpark as we only used it once for around one hour and it seemed great for kids.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the car park.
