“Columbus Day Weekend at Disney World”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Very nice Hotel. Good price for the holiday weekend in an excellent location. The girls all loved the lobby and the modern room decor. I loved the free coffee every morning in American Q. We had a great day playing in the pool after the Disney annual passes expired.

The resort is not fully operational and there is work going on. It is amazing to see a designer's hotel downtown Disney. People working here are super friendly and helpful - like Gabriela R in room cleaning!

A short walk to Disney Downtown as well as a shuttle bus to Disney this is a great Hotel at a reasonable price. Staff is very friendly. Clean rooms and comfortable beds. Restaurant breakfast is great and well worth the price. They do charge for parking as do most hotels. Nice clean pool. Overall it is a really nice bright comfortable hotel.

I booked my room at the B Resort through Mousesavers(dot)com and got a really too good to pass up deal. We checked in around 11pm. The front desk girl was very nice. The room was very clean. Yes, the out a stuffed frog on the bed and have a tray if treats that you can buy for $5 each. It's all stuff that would cost a dollar or two if bought at home. So if you have kids and don't want to buy the frog for around $30 and snacks for $5, then go in the room first and remove those things. The pool is great. My son liked playing fooseball in the children's room. Room service is very expensive. The food at the hotel restaurant was good but pricey. The pool is heated but not a lot. The gift shop is nice. The a/c is extremely loud when it comes on!! Very loud !! You have to turn the tv up to hear it, the a/c is so loud! When the a/c is not running, I could loudly hear the shuttle coach buses coming and going to this hotel. We had a second floor standard room. Without the mousesavers discount, there would have been a hefty parking fee and a hefty resort fee to pay on top of the hotel fee. There is only a cooler type mini fridge and not a real fridge that plugs in and keep things cold. No microwave, but there was a hair dryer and in room safe and two bottles of water for us waiting. Beds were comfy. Of all the non Disney hotels on Disney property, this one is almost to the entrance of the Disney property. Meaning it's almost the furtherest away of all the non Disney hotels on Disney property. I would stay here again. This hotel as well as the other non Disney owned hotels near Downtown Disney are all pretty much close to each other, so price would dictate where I stayed next time! These hotels are about 15 or so minutes from parking at Magic Kingdom.

For me, when I visit Orlando, my favorite place would be to stay in a Hotel within the Walt Disney World area, a favorite place is close to Downtown Disney. I had years ago stayed in the Hotel that closed down before B Resort took over and completely renovated the Hotel. B Resort and Spa has done a great job renovating this Hotel from what I saw.

Here are my pros and cons:

Pros:
* All rooms have been renovated this past summer. They are actually still finishing up minor details in appearance. There was no sign of construction, only maintenance.

* The rooms are decorated very nice and modern with very nice upgrades in the bathroom. My bathroom had both a shower and big deep tub with jets. The towels were also fluffy and there were plenty of them. There is not a remnant of the old hotel that I saw in the room. The rooms were very clean and very nice size for a family. I like the cubicles and not the drawers where I am always afraid of forgetting something. The feel is modern but comfortable. I liked it.

* The pool area is very nice. It is not a huge pool - but big enough. There are a group of rooms that are on the ground level that open to a patio with direct access to the pool. The patio is cabana style and has comfy outdoor seating. The best part is that you open a little gate and you are at the pool. I spoke to a family that loved the idea. Most hotels you have to run around to a main pool entrance even if your balcony is on the pool. I also saw a few families at night from view in my room enjoying the patio with the family while still being able to watch the kids in the pool. Kids do not like to have to get out of the pool!

* There is one main restaurant. They are opening another at the pool. The main place serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I know for breakfast that there is a choice of buffet or off the menu - I would choose the buffet. The A-la-carte items seemed to be the same cost when everything is said and done as the entire buffet. I did order room service, roasted chicken, and the chicken was prepared just as I requested with the skin crispy on the outside. This is a rarity for room service. The food was tasty and the portions just right - price is as expensive as any other room service in the area.

* The staff of the Hotel was very nice. There was always someone around to help. There is a big concierge desk ready to answer or help with anything Orlando. The service here for my experience was very nice.

CONS:

* I think that with this Hotel and all others that do this nowadays a "Resort" Service Charge is a complete rip off of the vacationing consumer. I have spent many of a night in very nice Hotels in major cities around the world and they never charge a resort charge - but it is changing and people need to stand up and fight this! I asked what the resort charge at this Hotel covered. According to a man at the front desk, the service charge includes use of their tennis court, pool, gym, mini-fridge in room (yes he included that) and iron in room (yes - he included that) and the wifi use which is advertised everywhere as free (it is not free if you are paying for it in the service charge) and the concierge - How should these things ever be considered for a special charge - the only thing I really could consider is the Wi-Fi - but even that nowadays with the advancement of a wireless signal, should not be a charge anywhere. The pool had a bar that was closed and not a sign of one attendant on the three days that I was there to help with a towel or set up your lounge chair - nothing. If I do not use the pool or the tennis court or the gym - why should I pay for this charge - and I would advise this man not to mention a fridge and iron in the room to be an amenity - especially since there is no sign of a coffee maker in the room.

* No coffee maker in the room. Maybe mine was missing - but I did not see any coffee maker in the room. This should be a must - if you want to go modern, give me a pod coffee maker!

*Parking charges. I do not think any hotel in Orlando needs to charge for parking. $16.00 a night for self and $21.00 for valet - The self parking is so close that you really do not need the valet. Unless you like the valet, then go for it.

* The rooms in the tower (not sure the ground level rooms) are very noisy. You can hear at all times the noise of the traffic of I4. I am a city person so I do not mind the noise, but if you want quiet, quiet, get a ground level room.

Despite these fees, I really like this hotel. I was actually sick one of the days and had to spend the entire day in bed. It was very nice to have stayed in a hotel with such a clean appearance in a modern comfortable room. I would recommend this hotel and stay again for sure.

Room Tip: The ground level rooms with the patio to the pool seem to be the nicest for a family. Easy access t...

Wife and I went away to Orlando (Disney) this past weekend. We booked through Orbitz and ended up at the B Resort. This place looks fantastic in and out. We did not have any time to go to the pool but the lobby, restaurants and the bedroom were all crisp clean and brand new feeling. Very bright and cheerful in here.
We were up on the 16th floor which had a wonderful view of the area and the distant locations such as the hot air balloon ride in Downtown Disney which really is just about 5-8 minutes of walking along a very well lit and clean sidewalk.

There is a shuttle that runs every 1/2 hour but why wait when you can walk.

Staff was very friendly, parking requires you to have a key to get into so it is a safety assurance. But really the whole area is so clean and safe for all of the area not just the hotel property.
I would recommend this hotel.

Only issue we had was the water did not feel hot enough for the shower.

Room Tip: I always prefer a room as high as possible just because i like the views.
