“Beautiful hotel great location, customer service was excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

I would highly recommend Blue Heron Beach resort to those seeking a comfortable hotel. I am somewhat a skeptical when choosing hotels because I have a small child and cleanliness is a top priority. We will return soon.

First the Pros - This Condo had most everything a family needs for a visit to the Orlando area. It had 2 bedrooms, one King, one with twin beds and bunk beds in the hallway. It had a full size washer and dryer, a full kitchen and a well-furnished living room. It also had two balconies, one with a view of the Lake and one with a view of the Disney fireworks. It also had two bathrooms. Excellent location, within one mile of Disney, convenience stores nearby, a Dunkin' Donuts, lots of restaurants and a Publix grocery store close also.

Now the Cons - The beds in our unit were terrible! Very uncomfortable for all of the members of our family! The mattresses were thin and made a lot of noise when rolling over or getting in and out. Now, maybe, it was just this particular unit, but we didn't get one good night's sleep. We were also disappointed there was no Wi-Fi available in the unit. Perhaps other units have better mattresses, but needed to write this so you would be aware and check it out before you stay. Also, the carpets were cleaned before we came (as they were still wet), but they need to be replaced, as they were badly stained. Carpets were only in the bedrooms.

Room Tip: If you decide to stay here, visit for one night or one day beforehand, to make sure the room you sel...

We are not Time Share Owners but stayed at the Blue Heron Beach Resort for 4 nights a week ago. I had seen the Resort advertised in our AAA Magazine and booked a one bedroom unit and requested Tower 2, for the AAA rate of $96 per night. When we checked in, the front desk clerk informed us they had upgraded us to a 2 bedroom unit in Tower 2, 9th floor. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! It was beautifully decorated in the tropical theme, immaculate, great view over looking the lake, pool, etc. The balcony was about 30 ft. long with sliding glass doors going out to it from the living room and master bedroom.

The living room was large with sofa bed and matching love seat, plus a comfortable chair, TV and separate sterio unit. All tile floors except the bedrooms had carpeting.

The kitchen had all the dishes, silverware, pots and pans, toaster, coffee maker, electric can opener, everything one would need. Electric range/oven, micro wave, dishwasher, side by side refrigerator with ice maker, and stackable washer in dryer with sliding pocket door to close off the sound when running, just off the kitchen. Oh, I forgot to mention, granite counter tops in the kitchen and both bathrooms. The kitchen over looked the dining area with a large glass top dining table with 6 dining chairs, plus the granite counter with two bar stools.

The master bedroom had a beautiful, comfortable king sized bed, beautiful dresser and end tables, TV, large walk in closet, and large master bathroom with jacuzzi tub/shower.

2nd bathroom in the hallway next to the 2nd bedroom had two twin beds, nice sized closet, dresser with TV and night stand.

Just inside the entry door to the condo was an elcove with bunk beds.

We use to live in Orlando so come to visit the area often and from now on we will not stay anywhere else. Our son and his family were staying on the Disney property but they have said that from now on they too will only stay at Blue Heron Beach Resort. One night we had our son, daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren come and stay with us. They all loved it!

The resort is located just a short distance (about 1/4 mile) from the Disney Village/Lake Buena Vista also known as Downtown Disney. The resort has free shuttle service but we had our own car so did not use it. There is free parking in the 2 level parking structure and in the open lot.

Plenty of restaurants, shops and drug stores in walking distance from the resort and we even had a pizza delivered one evening.

We were asked if we would like to sit in on a time share presentation but when I indicated we were not interested in being owners, the lady was very pleasant and did not press us.

In all the hotels and resorts we have stayed in all over the main land United States, Hawaii, Canada and Europe we have never had one that can compare to this resort. I will be posting photos on Tripadvisor.

Room Tip: Tower 2, being it is newer.

What more could you want, a one bedroom unit, two full baths, 2 bunk beds ( in an open area), and a full kitchen, living room and beautiful lakeviews. Great balcony overlooking the lake, you can see the Disney area fireworks from the walkways to your room, complex has workout room and pool area. What it does not have is a restaurant but has places nearby, even a few you can walk to, but a fantastic value for a family vacation. Good location but best if you have your own car but a shuttle is available. Also close to shopping.

Room Tip: Higher floors give you nice lakeviews and a chance to see the fireworks in the distance at night

First off, my family usually uses a Disney resort and stay inside the resorts. We booked late for the food and wine festival and, of course, Disney had nothing open that I could afford. SO....we found a great place with the perfect distance from Disney. We stayed on the 15th floor that overlooked the lake. We booked a one bedroom condo and they upgraded us to a two without charge. The room had a master, with one bed, another room with two full beds, and a set of bunk beds in the hallway. Washer and dryer. At night, families can catch all the local fireworks from the roof. The is a Starbucks just outside the lobby, CVS across the street. The condo was very clean and modern. Beds were SUPER comfortable. We loved it so much, we booked our Christmas and spring visits at Blue Heron. I love it and will return many more times.

Now some things to be aware of. I will let you know some things that should be noted. NOT negatives, just a heads up so you can prepare as we will for our next visit. There is very few cooking utensils, no cookie sheet, no large mixing bowls(in case you wanna make some Mickey pancakes, just saying), Salt and pepper shakers with nothing in them. No tongs to flip bacon. NO wifi in the rooms, only at the pool, only a wired connection and you have to sit at the counter by the phone. The iron in our room did not work. Shower head was pretty lame, bathrooms are amazing until you turn on the shower. The TV in the bedroom was a small flatpanel computer monitor, sorta. Although all the TVs in the house had DVD players and there was a large rental machine in the lobby. Great Idea. Now all the above did not cramp or down our trip, we made due. I just thought that I would share what I experienced so you can make your trip THAT much more enjoyable.

Enjoyed the property. Organized and helpful. Kitchen was well stocked. Nice to have breakfast in the suite. Views of pool and lake were beautiful.
Used the shuttle to Disney and it worked out well. Everyone was very nice. Starbucks is right in front. Our sutie was down the hall so no noise.

Room Tip: no onsite restaurant. don't know about kids activities.

Having stayed on Int Drive, on US27 in villas and in the LBV area at Cyprus Point this is the 1st time we have stayed at the Blue Herron Beach Resort.

We have a 1 bed unit that serves our needs well and has an excellent view over Lake Bryan and the resort pool area.

The suite is clean, tidy, and well appointed, but the furniture is getting slightly tired.

Otherwise the location is perfect, with easy access to the I.4 highway, LBV, Kissimmee and all the theme parks.

My only tip would b to ask for a room away from the elevators as it can be a bit noisy when families etc are returning from a night out.
