“Excellent location and value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

Having stayed on Int Drive, on US27 in villas and in the LBV area at Cyprus Point this is the 1st time we have stayed at the Blue Herron Beach Resort.

We have a 1 bed unit that serves our needs well and has an excellent view over Lake Bryan and the resort pool area.

The suite is clean, tidy, and well appointed, but the furniture is getting slightly tired.

Otherwise the location is perfect, with easy access to the I.4 highway, LBV, Kissimmee and all the theme parks.

My only tip would b to ask for a room away from the elevators as it can be a bit noisy when families etc are returning from a night out.

We are florida residents and when we go to the orlando area or I'm there on business we always stay at this resort which is at least 3 or 4 times a year. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms and views are amazing! We will be visit next week and will definitly be staying here again!

Room Tip: The higher the room the better views.

Just back from an eight day stay with my wife and daughter. The staff were very helpful and polite. The location is great for Disney, Seaworld etc, they run shuttle buses but we had a hire car (parking cost at the parks $14 a day) to get around. A number of restaurants within walking distance, Bahama Breeze was about half a mile away and great for seafood. The pools were warm despite Sandy sending the temp down to upper 60's (18-19C) for three days. I saw the pools being checked/cleaned everyday. My wife especially liked the hot tub - which was nice and toasty.
Having a kitchen with washer/dryer was great as we came home with most of our clothes being washed and stopped the house being turned into a chinese laundry.
We stayed in Tower 2, both bedrooms and living area had flat screen TVs with blue ray players. The parking was good, compared to the UK the size of the individual parking bays was large. If you get a hire car would recommend a sat nav - we hired from AVIS and the sat nav was an additional $71 which we only found out when we got there so it may be cheaper to down load the maps and take your own.

Both bathrooms were a nice standard.

The only minor negatives were that the carpets and sofas were a little tired.

Will return in a couple of years, will look to stay at the Blue Heron again and will be recommending to friends and family - you get a lot of space to make a home away from home.

We stayed the end of October 2012. We got a good rate and we were well pleased with the accommodations. We stayed in a 2 bedroom (4th floor). The views of the Lake were gorgeous! We usually don't stay in places with a kitchen as we are always on the go and eat out a lot. However, we found the kitchen to be a great asset (and we used it fully). The unit also had it's own washer and dryer which I found convenient. The place was very spacious for our family of 5 and we would definitely stay here again. Hotel is a hop skip and a jump from Downytown Disney ( where we saw Circus Soleil - Which was Awesome!). Lots of restaurants and places to go to around this location. There is a Dunkin Doughnuts in a plaza that you can walk to right out front. The only thing I found not that great was their parking. You can park on the 2nd deck, but you have to drive around and try to figure out how to get up there (poor in signs). Everything else was great!

Reception staff are really friendly and helpful. Good location for all the main attractions, good access to a number of restaurants a few within walking distance (although at night the pavement is not well lit). We loved staying here. Good sized balcony with great view over the lake - fantastic sunrises. There is a pier and walkway onto the lake where you can say hello to the young alligator that frequents the area - don't feed it! Air conditioning worked really well. The beds were comfortable. We would stay here again.

Okay so the first receptionist forgot to tell us we were eligible for a free a mid-stay cleaning service but maybe she did and we missed it as we were quite tired after a 4 hour delay to our flight. The lifts were quick and clean (although some guests seem to use them as a trash bin! Staff keep them clean though). We were staying in a 2 bedroom unit. It was very spacious with a well equipped kitchen, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs and one welcome coffee pack for the percolator. One suggestion I would make to management would be the option to book a welcome pack with milk and bread - we arrived late and although there is a 7 Eleven nearby at that time of night we could have done without the hassle.

The room was clean throughout with a dining table and seating area with two sofas (one small), TV and an easy chair. The main bedroom was a good size, bedside tables both sides of the bed and a chest of drawers with a second TV. The en-suite had double sinks and a small bath with shower. The bath was a spa type but we couldn't get it to work (never reported it - life is too short). The second bedroom had twin beds and built in wardrobe as well as a chest of drawers and third TV. The bathroom had a shower and low sided bath and wash-hand basin. Towels are provided for the bathrooms and others for taking to the pools. There are three pools, 2 small and one large with two lanes for lane swimmers (probably only 20 m).

Contrary to other reviews we read, the car parking is more than adequate with wide spaces. Okay it does take a bit of care to move between car parks and the exit but even I managed it in an unfamiliar left hand drive car. There are two vending machines in the car park next to the lifts - soft drinks and sweets.

Found this Resort online and got an awesome price for a 5 night stay in October! Perfect for my family of 5 - Husband and I had our own Bedroom, 12 and 6 year olds loved the hallway bunkbeds and my 14 yr old had the sleeper sofa. We asked for high floor (got the highest floor #21) - views over lake are amazing and as most families may prefer lower levels, we felt like we were the only ones on our floor. Our stay was very quiet.
Free (and freindly) shuttle services to Disney Parks and Seaworld, although it would be nice if more shuttle times were available. Minutes from Downtown Disney. Everything was clean: room, pool, surroundings. Rooms could use a little updating as far as furniture, art and TV's, but we did not spend much time in room so that was not a big issue. Free parking, well-lit parking garage, friendly staff! Will definitely come back!

Room Tip: Higher floors are quiet and good view from elevator side balcony to view park fireworks.

Just got back from 5 day 4 night stay at the Blue Heron Beach Resort. I have to say it was amazing stay. I had the one bedroom condo which was perfect for me and my girlfriend. This is in a great location from Disney World about 10 to 15 minutes to all the park locations. I will recommend this place to everyone and will be staying here again.
