“Ideal base for parks. Suprised by negative reviews .”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2013 via mobile

Checked in and never went to reception desk again until check out time. Which means we had nothing to complain about. 2 bedroom apartment in building 4 (same building as reception) was a great size . Room clean and comfortable beds. Fully equipped kitchen,Big plasma screen tv which was ideal for chilling out with a beer after a hard days walking round the parks.

Location was ideal but as mentioned a car is a must due to lack of public transport, shuttle buses run daily to parks but i prefer to come and go as i please. Jump in car, turn right, turn left and you are under the welcome to disney arch in less than 5 minutes.

Im suprised by the negative comments but maybe some people are used to higher standards?? We was more than happy with our room but to be honest we never plan to spend much time in the room, just a base to sleep ,wash and put belongings, but as mentioned above we used it to relax at night with snacks and a drink while watching TV as the kids watched cartoons in there bedroom which also had a smaller flatscreen TV.

This was our first visit to Florida and found this an ideal location to 'find our feet' as it was without the hustle and bustle but close to all the major attractions.

Thank you LBV resort and spa.

Ok so we decided to stay here due to the fact there were 7 of travelling together. The price and fact we could get a 3-bedroom suite in close proximity to Theme Parks was too good to miss. We were very skeptical and not sure what to expect due reading some negative reviews prior. However we're glad we made the choice to stay here! The rooms were fantastic! Very spacious and all the amenities you expect for self contained apartments! The staff were very friendly on check in (this was the only time we encountered them apart from check out) as we had all we needed and no reason to seek them out. The resort is close to all attractions. We hired a 15 seat passenger van for our 8 day stay. It was less than 10 minute drive to all the Disney Parks (which personally we found very over-rated and crowded, but that's a different story all together) and a 20 minute drive to Universal. There is outlet shopping within 3 minute walk from your building door and the 2 big premium outlets are a 5 or 20 minute drive away depending on which one you choose.
We enjoyed dinner at Frankie Farrells on 3 of the nights. The onsite grocery store is a little expensive (however Wal-Mart is less than a 5 minute drive away for all your needs) and to be honest the woman working there made me feel like a criminal every time I walked in there, constantly over your shoulder as you browse. There is ample parking spaces for guests.
Overall I would highly recommend this resort for travelling families or travellers in general and totally disregard any negative reviews!

Stayed here in July 2012, with Partner & 3 kids ages 16, 12 & 9. We had a 3 bed appt, which was very spacious & clean. It was well equipped, with a large fridge / freezer, with ice maker. The washing machine & tumble drier was huge, and great for washing out towels etc. The hotel charge for cleaning & maid service, so we just did it ourselfs. Two large bathrooms, a huge bath, with jaccuzzi, and lots of hanging space for clothes, and an iron & ironing board. The TV was the biggest we have ever seen. The Balcony is a good size. The air conditioning works really well, so when you go out the heat really hits you.

The pool was lovely, plenty of sunbeds, and free towels available at the pool, so you don't need to take then out of your room.
We did eat at the pool bar, but only a limited choice, and food was dissappointing. We ate here once, and went out after that.
The Irish pub, has great food. We had lunch lots of times, as well as a couple of evening meals. Portions are huge, and 1 between two people was lots for us, especially if we shared a starter too !.

This Hotel was everything we needed, as a great base. It is omly a short drive anywhere. Disney resorts are just up World drive. Use the I4, which you join down the road, and it is only a few exits to Sea World, and a little bit further for Universal. The i4 in the other direction goes to Tampa , & Busche gardns. We had a Sat Nav, but we used the same roads, most days, & it is well sign posted. Downtown Disney, is just along the road, about 2 miles, but easy to find.

You do need a car, as the roads are so hugh, even to go a couple of blocks to a restaurant, would not be possilble, there aren't pavements.

For shopping there is the outlet centre on the doorstep, which is great, and not as busy as premium outlet centre. Although worth a visit to The premium outlets, as some stores are the same, but there a few more there too.
For groceries we drove down the akpolca road(away from Disney), and about 5 minutes you see Smokey bones restaurant, on the left, and behind there is a big supermarket, which is cheap, for all your provisions. It is fun just looking at the variety and choice they sell.

If I go back to Orlando I would definatly consider staying at this hotel again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a Disney resort view. It is a few miles away, but you can see the fireworks at...

Before I stayed at this complex I was not sure what I was going to think with the Negative reviews.. On arrival the check in was very fast & we were placed in block 5. Upon entering we were still wary & the bad reviews were on my mind. What can I say?? The room was fab, spotless clean and huge, plenty of space for my family. Living / dining area was fantastic & the washer / dryer came in very handy. The pool area was great for kids & the pool bar great for adults. Very close to Disney & 5 mins to Seaworld. Walmart 2 mins drive away. We had a car which I think is a necessity whilst stating here. Plenty of restaurants 2-5 min drive. Do not be put off by negative reviews for this property, it's very safe, large rooms with everything you need. I will definitely return!! Some people complain about little things, don't pay attention.. I did & was very surprised! The Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa is a great choice!

The 3-Bedroom Suites are excellent for large families or for group trips to Disney World and other nearby parks. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We have stayed there twice in one year. I would definitely return!

I just wanted to make a quick note that I have been corresponding back and forth with Trish from Lake Buena Vista Resort regarding our upcoming vacation in June (requested room and general inquiries on the property itself); her prompt responses, and friendly banter is refreshing and greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately I cannot rate any of the other categories since we have not visited, but I wanted it to be known to anyone just a simple conversation can give you an impression of the type of experience you will have while visiting a property. With that said, I am even more excited for our trip down to FL!!!!

The furniture was very dated and wore out. The pool with the ship is NOT heated. The only reason I booked the room was for my grandkids to have fun in the pool. Very very disappointed. The managers I talked to that were evaluating the pool said oh yes it is heated. I would like all three
of them to jump on in and then say yes its heated to their customers without shattering their teeth.
One of the hot tubs is an electrical hazard because of the on and off switch. It's the one behind the ship in the corner. Also, the beds and the pillows are hard as rocks.

Room Tip: From the reviews I was reading before we left said to ask for building 5 but even though I requested...
