My boyfriend and I decided to try Raglan Road for dinner one evening while on our Disney trip. It was a Friday night, about 8:00 with no reservation. As we approached the restaurant, there was music playing and the Irish Step Dancers were stepping outside the entrance. What a great way to draw customers in. There is open seating at the bar, which were all filled. We only had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table, which went by quickly-there is a store to look through and an outside music area.
We were seated to the side of the main stage. I wish we could have been seated in the main area more, we would have loved to be in the middle of the activity. If you want a quiet dining experience, skip this restaurant; you should expect the restaurant to be noisy. The entire time there was always something going on- step dancers on stage and the middle table, live music performances, and they brought children up to learn an irish dance. The whole time we enjoyed the shows as much as the meal.
Even though the restaurant is on Disney property, like the other restaurants, it is not Disney-owned but followed Disney prices. We expected to spend the money, which was worth it. My steak was delicious, my boyfriend raved about the beef. Drinks are expensive, again as expected, but still yummy. Our waitress Melinda was friendly and helpful, easily able to answer any questions we had. We did not feel rushed at all, and enjoyed the performances after we paid our bill. After we left, we stood outside to listen the other Irish band performing in the garden area.
Next time we visit Disney, we will bring the entire family with us. This is such a unique dining experience unlike any other restaurants in Downtown Disney. If you are comfortable with the ambiance, you will not be disappointed.
