“Could be better...No timeshare purchase for me!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2008

The Fountains appeared promising from the reviews and the glamorous website, however my high expections were not met. Both pools were closed for an entire evening of our first night even though the rainstorms were quickly over and the sky was now sunny. Since we had no other plans that evening besides our failed attempt at swimming, we stayed in our room to enjoy the amenities, but kept coming across our very dirty feet. In order to solve the mystery, my boyfriend ended up mopping all of the floors in the room, which included two bathrooms, a kitchen, and hallway. Amazingly, our feet remained clean the rest of the week:). I also had the joy of cleaning all the dishes in the room...it was beginning to feel like home! I was also annoyed at the advertisements for hotel wi-fi which would have ended up being quite costly if I hadn't inquired prior to logging on since I was just seeing signs everywhere but no mention of cost. Also, beaware of the frequent attempts to sell you a timeshare. Upon arriving, in order to get your required parking pass, you have to listen to a sales talk about signing up for another sales talk. There are also daily (often frequent) messages left on your answering machine regarding timeshares (but at least the phone does not ring). In the end, my best advice is to stay at the resort to the left of The Fountains. We have stayed there numerous times without complaint...the rooms are cleanner, bigger, and no saleSTALKS!

Rated as excellent, not because it is luxurious but because it is good value for money and was exactly what we expected and needed, and trust me I'm fussy! My brother in law stayed here last year and recommended it as a base from which to do the theme parks. He was so right. This is perfect for a family.

We where a party of 5 with the children ranging from 17 to 3. This place ticked all the boxes in terms of entertainment and accomodation. Everyone had there own space and no one was board.

ROOMS
Excellent size for a family, not cramped or on top of each other at all. Master bedroom has queen size bed (no the sheets don't fit but there is a trick to it) with a jacuzzi in the main room (excellent after a day round the parks with a beer) and seperate shower room. 2nd bedroom had two double beds and ensuite bathroom (bath with shower over). The living area has plenty of space, with a good balcony, and brilliantly a laundry room (cupboard) with washer & dryer (no none of us want to do washing on holday but I have to admit it was useful). They are not luxurious but better than most european standards and very clean. There is no daily maid service but a complete clean (we had one half way through our 2 week stay) is £12.50- and actually they forgot to add it to the bill at the end of the stay.

Clothes storage was just OK for 5 people (bearing in mind 4 of us are female!)

TV in every room, good range of chanels (DVD player does not play european DVDs). Stereo in main living area. Games console chargeable.

FACILITIES
Both pools are good, the larger one (with slides) good in the daytime & the smaller (indoor/outdoor) in the evening (cos the water is so warm). Only ate at the pool bar once (Wakola Grill) and it was fine. Prices for drinks & food reasonable. A few little play areas for the younger kids. Constant entertainment for the children which we hardly used (because we where out and about, but when did use was good). Good clean gas BBQs next to each block - we used it once & was really good. Sandy sitting areas around the lake. Small on site shop where you can get a British paper.

LOCATION
Although on I-Drive, as with most places in the states, you had to drive everywhere! Good location for Disney (10-15 minutes) & Seaworld (2 mins) & Universal (10-15 mins). 20 minutes from airport. Publix supermarket round the corner (on Vineland) was good. We ate on I-Drive most nights - good selection of resteraunts 5 mins away (in the car!).

SERVICE/STAFF
Was very good, check in straight forward (as was check out), staff friendly but not over the top. No one tried to sell us anything!

CRITISCISMS
Check out is 10am we did manage to get it extended to 11am.
Music starts pumping round the resort (not mega loud) at 9am, just when my 3 year old discovered lie ins!

Would definately go back ,and spend more time at the resort itself. One of our only regrets was that we did not feel we had made the most of the complex.

We are Bluegreen owners but used the weeks we had converted from points to weeks with RCI to book 2 units May 23 for a week. That was the better deal than spending 16,000 for a week for one unit. One bedroom is a King and the other is 2 doubles. We found it ideal to split up (although there were just 5 of us- 2 couples and 1 child). The units are big enough for a couple and up to 4 kids though. However, if you have more than one couple, 2 units would be best so you both can have the King bedroom and not have to sleep in doubles.

The resort is great- the location is fantastic right off International Drive by Seaworld- much more desirable than the Kissimmee/Clermont area which shows its age and is somewhat rundown looking. The outlets (quite upscale, Tods, Burberry, Armani, Tag, etc.) are about a mile away. The Fountains isn't too big and everything is within easy walking distance (all buildings but maybe 2 surround the new fantastic pool area and are only a few minutes walk from it). The clubhouse is nice and the pool there (indoor and outdoor) great, but nothing compared to the enormity of the new pool area that opened in March 08. I can't imagine the resort before this pool opened which is the center of the resort now - it has increased the resort's desirability exponentially. What I really enjoyed was the DJ at the pool several days which added a festive, fun atmosphere similar to cruise ships. The massage cabanas (for a fee of course) were a nice surprise. The staff was great and very helpful. We got burgers one day at the pool with greek salads that were very good.

We did attend the "owner's update" for a $100 Disneybucks giftcard and it lasted about 90 minutes and as always, was a little frustrating. However, we thought it was worth the trouble to get the $100 and we did learn about some new ownership perks Bluegreen is offering and about their new properties.

We will return to The Fountains for sure and I'm banking some Bluegreen points (only takes about 5000 for a week!) for RCI weeks now to do the same thing next year I hope- get 2 units for a week via an RCI exchange.

This is a great base for visiting Orlando. We stayed 17/05-31/05. We are a family if 4; 2 adults, 2 kids 15 & 5. I was concerned, prior to arrival, having read some of the previous reviews. However, it was wonderful. Check in was without incident and the apartment was clean and tidy. We stayed in building 2, it was a great central location for everything. On arrival to the apartment the smoke alarms were beeping. We called housekeeping and within 15 minutes we had someone in to fix them.
We had daily telephone calls from the activities team to let us know what was going on. Everyone was very helpful.
We were on the ground floor 2106. For a week we had peace and quiet. Our second week was slightly marred by occupation in the apartment above us. We heard toilets flushing and jacuzzi bubbling. Having said that, it was liveable with! The amenities in the condo were great, we had everything we needed. Rooms were spacious, well equipped and comfortable.
Minus points were:
We had to ask for our room to be cleaned and sheets changed after 8 days.
Noise from neighbours above.
Yes, the sheets dont fit - why??
The piped music from Wakoola Springs at 9am and an occasional early start from gardeners.
The Wakoola Grill bar shuts at 10pm just when we'r getting in from parks/excursions.

Plus points:
No big sell from salesmen.
Great kids pool and amenities
Close to supermarkets, gas & parks.
Pleasant staff who gave prompt service when asked.
Our kids loved both pool areas.
Massage by the pool!!!!

Overall a good place to be with great facilities.

I stayed at the Foutains for my honeymoon with a "free" 5 day stay. Well nothing is free through Bluegreen but it was discounted. My new husband and I had to go to a high pressured timeshare presentation. The longest 90 minutes of my life!
About the hotel: We didn't have a car so we did alot of walking from our building to the entrance. The rooms are beautiful and roomie. They bed was comfortable and soft but needed fitted sheets.
It's definately a family resort. The pools are nice.

I was a little bit skeptical when I read all the reviews in tripadvisor for this resort. First the location is excellent, it is located on International drive, approx. one block away from Publix and about a mile down from Seaworld. Check in was about 20 minutes and the receptionist was very polite. We stayed in the building 6 and its a very short distance (2 mins walk) to the club house. The unit itself was very clean (no ant, no bugs) and housekeeping was good in mid week. The kitchen is big enough and plenty of room for 4 of us. When I called the front desk to get a pack - n- play and high chair for my 20 months old, it showned up in 15 mins. So far we are happy with our stay and would def. go back.

Vist from May 23-30 2008
We did a timeshare exchange at The Fountains and I was a bit skeptical by a few reviews in which some items were taken from peoples rooms. We were greated by a really firendly security officer and I am sorry to say that we did not get his name. He is Britsh and you cannot miss that. What a pleasure he was. The check in took a bit but we arrived with everyone else around 4pm. We have two year old twins so we were looking for an easy room to get to and one that was close to the action per se. The reception lady got us a great villa in building 2 which backs up to the new pool. It is hard for me to imagine what this place was like with the one pool. This pool made all of the difference. It has plenty of room and a kids section at the far end. There are plenty of bathrooms and the activity staff is always putting something together. They have a water slide for the bigger kids and adults and most people seemed to like it. The Grill is new and it looked like they may have been struggling a bit. We never ate there but we did go there for a drink and at $8 for a margarita, I was not returning. They would do great if they advertised specials and if they had pizza on the menu. I saw Dominos driving in on many occasions with pizza and thought that they would have done better if they could have kept business inside the resort. We went on the paddleboats and that was cute and we participated at the bonfire. That was neat because you could see the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom as you roasted a marshmallow on the fire. The villa was well stocked and we had no problems. There was plenty of space and everything looked pretty new and up to date. We used the safe and never left valuables lying around. All in all, we had a great time and would recommend this to others. We did the timehare presentation for two free tickets to Seaworld and that was ok. Our rep was nice but the manager that came behind her was a total jerk and that is putting it nicely. We own three timeshares and don't need another. He started to tell us that we were missing out not owning points and said that we were blocked out of 39% of resorts owning weeks. I don't think he noticed that we were staying there and we were not blocked from them.. We may have issues in the future exchanging, but not now and own at pretty nice places. Great place!!!!!
