If you are going to eat anywhere on Universal Studios, you should make it to Finnegan’s.
It is the perfect place to eat well and relax away from the masses.
You can find it by the Revenge of the Mummy ride, across from where the Blues Brothers ride in and play their music. There’s more music to be experienced inside the restaurant, as they usually have live singers performing covers of ‘80s songs and well-known country hits.
The décor is not that appealing. There’s paintings and statues referencing cricket and golf but there’s many fake crate boxes that allude to international shipping, but to me it just resembles a warehouse. Luckily, the food quality makes the décor irrelevant.
The food is simply great. I’ve visited this place with my girlfriend three or four times and we’ve had all sorts of different things. I don’t think you can go wrong with any choice and you’ll always get soda bread with some tasty apple butter. So feel free to get some shepherd’s pie or pot pie, maybe some sandwich or salad. Everything I’ve had has been enjoyable as long that you keep in mind that this is an Irish eatery and potatoes will be present throughout.
The service is very friendly and efficient. Well-worth your tip.
Another key element to my recommendation is that the menu prices are affordable. Not affordable by theme park standards, where a bottle of water costs the same as a six-pack of fine beer. No, it is affordable by all standards. You are not going to break the bank, not even a lil’ piggie and you are going to have tasty, filling food and relax for a while before braving more ride queues and the constant flux of wide-eyed tourists.
