“First Time Visit to Saratoga Springs”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2013

We are long-time Disney Vacation Club members (Old Key West 1992) and when our home resort was not available during a recent vacation we choose to try Saratoga Springs. Our 2 bedroom condo was extremely well appointed and close to bus stops as well as within walking distance to Downtown Disney. The big pool was too far away but we had a smaller pool facility less than 5 minutes walk that was fantastic! Give Saratoga a try, it is well worth the effort.

Of course Disney properties are great! This property is actually our home for the Disney Vacation Club and we love it. This is our 2nd year staying during Thanksgiving and it was just as great as our 1st. They always have entertainment and games for both kids and adults at the pool. The pools are nice and clean as well as the jacuzzis. The room is fantastic and we will DEFINITELY be coming back!

This is a great place! Yes, it's very big and takes a while to take the bus all around the resort before and/or after visiting the parks BUT the place is excellent! We got a 2 bedroom villa for grandparents (us) and family of five. The unit was large and very quiet. We in the master bedroom suite (huge!) could not hear the 3 kids in their bedroom and we couldn't hear anyone else in the resort. The kitchen was super well equipped and the beds were really comfortable. The bathroom setup was weird but great with lots of privacy options. The staff was excellent. I will review the Turf Club Restaurant separately but it was great! Best food we had at Disney. The pool was a little disappointing - the kids wanted bigger slides etc but we weren't at Disney for the pool!

Room Tip: Pick Springs area to be close to restaurants and last bus stop before leaving the park; pick Grandst...

I really like DVC resorts but Saratoga is way too big for it's own good. It reminds me of one of the moderate resorts like Caribbean Beach or Coronado Springs.

It took us forever to check in because we asked to change our room from a regular studio to a handicap room. Once we got into the room it was dusty and the clocks hadn't been changed since we "fell" back. The refrigerator had rust all along the bottom of it and temperature of the room was either too hot or too cold no matter what you did. The bed felt like it had rocks in it. Neither of us slept for 3 nights we were there. If we could have moved resorts we would have.

This resort isn't very "Disney" besides the minimal horse themed decorations around and the Fox and the Hound bedspreads.

I will never say here again.

Room Tip: The Carriage House is the Main Building so if you can get a room near there you will be near the res...

This is our 5th time staying here and it simply couldn't be better. The 1 bedroom condo is spacious and has a great floor plan. We usually stay in the Congress Park Villas but decided to try something different - staying in the Grandstand Villas - very close to the fitness center/spa and community center and great privacy overlooking the golf course. Facilities are always well maintained (to Disney standards - best in the world). We like being able to park near the building versus other resorts where parking lots are distant from the buildings.

Experience could not be better!

Room Tip: Congress Park Villas overlooks Downtown Disney - Grandstand Villas more secluded and private - both...

My husband and I just spent 10 days at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa. It's a nicer than average resort with several pools and a nice spa. Nice and close to Downtown Disney which we like to visit by boat. Really like the horse theme throughout the resort and the main restaurant the Turf Club has good food, friendly staff and interesting décor especially appreciated by equestrians! Artist's Palette serves a great breakfast (including Mickey Mouse shaped Waffles) and has all the conveniences of a corner store. Resort is very clean as you'd expect at all Disney facilities. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with balconies, our overlooked the water. Love the Disney courtesy busses which are a great perk to any Disney stay and oh so convenient for visiting the parks! Loved watching the graceful swans glide past our balcony! An unexpected favorite feature of this resort!

Room Tip: Don't expect to check-in early, it's 4pm and that's it! Have been visiting Disney World...

We stayed at in a One Bedroom Suite, which was part of the Disney Vacation Club (DVC). The room is very similar to other DVC resorts within this category, yet is uniquely decorated and furnished to fit the Saratoga Springs Resort theme.

Compared to other DVC Resorts, such as Villas at the Wilderness Lodge, this resort is very spread out and covers a large area. So be prepared to walk or take the free bus to get around. Besides the main pool by the club house, this resort has many other pools within walking distance of each housing area. Although the room was very similar to the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, I do like the more rustic feel of the room and décor.

The location is very close to Downtown Disney, however, there is currently no direct access to Downtown Disney, except of walking around the lagoon or taking the complimentary boat. Both will take their fair share of time, so make sure to plan ahead, if you have dining reservations at a certain time... leave with plenty of time to walk or use the boat!

The bedroom and unit was very comfortable, with lots of room and anything you can think of.

The service was excellent and always welcoming... typical Disney style! I truly wish that more companies would be run like Disney!!! 5+ Stars for sure...
