“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 29, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in congress park and had a wonderful view of Downtown Disney. The room was great big enough for two adults and our son. The amenities at the hotel are first class and the pools are fantastic our son loved the paddock pool.

We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit with our extended family -- 5 adults and 2 kids, ages 3 and 1-1/2. Saratoga Springs was great for us. The rooms are huge, the customer service is excellent, the resort offers good food options, and the pools are great for all ages. While we didn't take advantage of them on this trip, the availability of spa services and other options like bike rentals are also very nice features. We also love the ability to walk to Downtown Disney.

While this is a minor complaint, since the rooms all have kitchens, I do wish that the store had a few more food options available for purchase for breakfasts/meals in the rooms. The store seems to be understocked with those kinds of items compared to other Disney resorts, even ones that have rooms without full kitchens.

A number of people have mentioned being dissatisfied with the bus system at Saratoga Springs. That hasn't been our experience. In 6 days, we never had a lengthy wait for a bus. Also, among all of the larger Disney resorts we've stayed at, the internal bus loop within the resort is the quickest. The rides to Epcot and Hollywood Studios are both short. The rides to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are longer, but still manageable. Also, even at the busiest times (closing time at Magic Kingdom) the lines for the buses are shorter than for most of the other resorts. Yes, other Deluxe resorts (the ones around Epcot and Magic Kingdom) have much shorter transportation times to some of the parks, but we don't find the travel times to and from Saratoga to be problematic, and to us the larger room sizes more than make up for the little bit of extra travel time.

We enjoyed our time at Saratoga Springs. I'm sure that it won't be our last visit here.

We have stayed here with and without the kids and it is a great place for both. You are very central to Downtown Disney and a quick bus ride to the parks. This resort offers multiple pools, eating locations and play areas. The best part of staying here is all the room you have in your unit. What a great treat it is to be able to have space to move about AND get to do laundry right in your room. This is certainly a space saver for packing purposes!
My one issue (not a huge one) but on the first day of vacation the food service area near our smaller pool was open and this was great for grabbing a quick snack, but for the next 7 days it was closed...I know this is not peak season and perhaps it is not cost effective to keep it open, but it was a bit of a hike to head back to the main resort to get a drink or snack.

Room Tip: Look up specials for the spa if you are a annual passholder or a dvc member! This is an enjoyable tr...

We rented two, two bedroom villas for our group of 11-half adults, half kids. The rooms were good sizes and it was nice to have a kitchen to cook breakfast before we hit the parks. It would be a perfect place to stay for people who really enjoy Downtown Disney, as it is within walking distance (or a short boat or bus ride away). The Artist's Palette was good and the resort had plenty of amenities (I wish we could have utilized more of them). The beds were comfortable and we were all happy with the resort overall.

First, let me be clear that SO much of this review is completely about perspective. i would read through many of the great reviews that are on here before going. We know what our family likes and dislikes, and depending on the topic, this resort ranges from a 1 (Transportation) to a 5 (great food and pools) etc...

Pros: Nice, clean rooms. great food at the restaurant, great pools for kids and adults alike. Quiet grounds with nice golf course. Every room has a decent view with small balcony. updated electronics for room keys. Typical Disney standard of front desk service quality (that way at every resort).

Cons: VERY far from all of the major resorts. inconsistant bus service. LARGE resort, and could be quite a walk from the main building (where the food, shops, video rentals are, etc). Theme is pretty much lost on most of the property, so perhaps not ideal for kids. long bus rides with multiple stops (4 total) at resort before heading to park [took us total of 1.5 hours from door to line at animal kingdom one morning - we had to say something at front desk because our bus took 35 minutes... not the 20 as advertised].

Overall, so much depends on your pace and family dynamic. As for us, we will likely never choose a resort this far away from park access, no matter how old our kids are. Meanwhile, the grandparents that own the timeshare at this particular resort, dont mind sitting around waiting for buses and like the seclusion.

If you are a family looking to maximze your time, i would not recomend ANY resort with bus service. However, from a budget perspective on the amount of points used, it is a good deal. as one former reviewer mentioned: "when you gain one thing someone, you give something up somewhere else".

If you are a couple looking to relax at a slower pace, this resort and others like it may be exactly what you need,

having been to 5 different resorts, and at least one in each "category", i would personally take a hard look at what is most important to your family before choosing this particular resort.

Why we wont't com back:
- long bus rides; inconsistant bus service
- lack of theme; no Disney AND no really sense of "saratoga"
- too far from the major parks

we stayed in a studio apartment in the paddock area of the resort, we had the pool right outside our apartment and were just a few minutes from a bus stop, and easy walk over to the main building and the restaurant and shop.

the apartment was very clean and we had daily housekeeping who did a fantastic job. all the cast members we came across were very friendly and helpful even on the day we checked out they still gave advice on what to do and where to go before our flight home.

we had a deluxe dinning plan which made getting food and budgeting very easy, and again the help and advice i was given by cast members was great.

the whole resort was clean and well kept. we used the disney transport every day and didn't have to wait any longer than about 10-15 minutes for a coach to turn up. and only a short journey to all the main parks and a short walk over to downtown disney.

all in all a great resort again would defiantly stay again

We have stayed here several times now as DVC members. The accommodation is spacious, well equipped and comfy. This time we had a 1 bed apartment and they have a great kitchen plus washer and dryer which is handy. We request Congress Park as a location so you are near a quiet pool and you can easily walk to downtown disney. The resort is huge and you can easily be a 10 minute bus ride away which can be a nuisance re long bus journeys to get anywhere but depends what you want. Easy parking, nice grounds and quiet.

Room Tip: If you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants ask for Congress Park area.
