“Would stay here again for sure - but away from pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2006

Just got back from a seven night stay... two adults and one 3 year old child. Overall... the stay was very good... would go back again... would get a larger room and ask to be away from pool.

Stayed in a Studio... which only sleeps two. Housekeeping brought up a mattress from a crib for our three year old to sleep on next to our bed. One bedroom or larger is a must if you want more then one bed in room. No roll aways allowed in Studio (front desk said it was a fire hazard).

We were on the third floor of the Bianka Villa (building #1 next to front desk) with room overlooking the pool. Pool noise was too much... pools opens at 8am and closes at 11pm. Noise started at about 10am and went at times until midnight... at least 11pm each night. Pool has a large waterfall feature... very noisy when you have the sliding glass door to screened in porch open. Pool also has music/speakers all around it... playing music up until 11pm each night. Waterfall noise was not audible with sliding glass door closed. However, the pool music, people in the pool, people at the bar next to pool... very audible with sliding glass door closed. Guest traffic at front of room... along open hall way... was also very audible in room (could hear full conversations, roller bags on tile, etc). Construction going on on far side of complex... didn't hear it or notice it.

Would not suggest a ground floor room... traffic in front of room/hall would be too much. As would people walking by and looking into room/screened porch. Foot traffic near room can be high if on main walkway between buildings/near pool/front desk.

Hotel is set up as a time share... we didn't book it as a time share... just got a room like you would at a hotel. Having the kitchentte (sink, micro, refrig/freez, plates, utensils, etc) was nice... for snacks and small meals.

Hotel was very clean though out... seemed brand new. Hotel staff very friendly and courteous.

Prices in the small deli/store on site... expensive as one would suspect ($6.50 for a gallon of milk). Deli food was OK... food at bar was not very good. Grocery store, drug store, and some quick serv food places across the street (Subway, Chinese, McDonald's, Sushi, Venezualen, etc). There looked to bus stop in front of hotel as well. Very large outlet mall within 10 to 15 minute walk.

Hotel grounds are large... 15 to 20 minute walk from back portion of complex to the grocery store and other stores near by.

Not as large as other Hilton Grand Vacations Club at SeaWorld... which is nice since it means less traffic, etc. Had a friend staying at HGV at SeaWorld... 5 minute drive from this property. SeaWorld location not as nice or as new as this one.

Location on south end of International Drive is nice and quiet compared to other areas in Orlando... close to Disney (10 minute drive), close to SeaWorld (5 minute drive), close to airport (20 minute drive), close to freeway access (5 to 10 minutes). Away from very busy north end of International Drive. Area north of Convention Center on Int'l Drive... very busy with car and pedestrian foot traffic.

Shaded children's playground near pool (small in size), small basketball/tennis court, small on site video arcade, pool tables, small young child activity center, etc. Daily 1 to 2 hour activities for kids (movie by the pool, crafts, animal show, etc).

Pressure to buy into time share was almost non existent... wasn't forced into a sales pitch, etc. Saw people getting time share tour... seemed very low key/non pushy.

Just arrived home from our trip and had a one night stay at this hotel. We had a 2 bedroom for 4 adults, 2 year old and a 9 month old. And mom and dad had a studio on the floor below. We were in Pembroke unit. Our front door needed different help. Could hardly open or shout it. Decor is Florida like yellow and green and new carpet which I liked a lot.
The units are very clean and other wise well kept. I must comment that I agree about the cribs are horriable. The water and play areas are all geared to the young which is wonderful when traveling with small children. Didn't find the food prices out of line either. There were in the process in painting the upper 2 floors of our unit. I'm sure there are many place to stay I probably will look around a little more when family travels again.

Just returned from 3 nights here with our 3 kids, ranging in age from 1 to 10. Similar comments as other posts - pretty grounds, new, beautiful pool, nice rooms. We had a 1 bedroom suite in building #2 (Giovanni). I requested a suite away from the construction after reading the posts here. Glad I did for the view and decrease in noise.
Parking is very, very tight at night. If returning to your room after 7pm, expect to park a distance away.
Spent a day at the pool. Chaise lounges were nice. Ordered poolside service - food was surprisingly good. One problem: our waiter closed out our bill at the end of his shift, charged it to our room and gave himself a 40% tip!!! Didn't know that until check-out when I was told it was too late to change it.
Towels and sheets were very nice. Comfy bed. Kids said sofa bed wasn't too bad. Crib provided was scary - looked like they got it from an old Russian orphanage. Only had service for 4 in kitchen - needed more! Washer/dryer were great and we appreciated the complimentary Tide provided.

First, let me say that this is a beautiful resort. The pool area is wonderful, as is the lobby area. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and the screened balconies are ample in size. A great find thanks to TripAdvisor! And I found an unbelievable rate by booking through Hilton.

My reason for writing this review is to show my appreciation for the staff at this resort. I managed to leave a necklace behind after my one night stay. I called the hotel (never thinking anything would come from it, but I had to try) and was put in contact with housekeeping. Wonders of wonders, they located my necklace! It was shipped to me via FedEx and I couldn't be happier. Those that I dealt with on this issue could not have been more helpful and efficient. I would recommend this resort for the reasons above, but I thought this story would be appreciated by those that travel frequently.

I am an owner. I bought three years ago and this was my first stay. I was told all units would have view of the water. Well that is not true. Mine had a view of a pool under construction. The noise from 7 am to 3 pm makes is hard to have a conversation on the balcony. If you are an early riser, you will like it. Expect to wake at 7 am sharp every morning. The management can care less. Not their problem, since they already have your money. This construction is expected to last into 2007.

We stayed at the Grand Vacation club on International Drive. It is a beautiful place. The room was immaculate and when we requested foam pillows instead of the feather ones, we received them within 15 minutes of our request. The bed was very comfortable. We stayed in a studio suite, which was smaller than I had expected. If we go again, I would opt for the 1 bedroom suite. The studio had a microwave, sink, dishes and a mini-fridge, but didn't have a washer-dryer in the room. Unlike a previous post, we did have control of our thermostat. For two, the studio was adequate. The terrace was great. It was screened in to keep out unwanted creatures. Parking was tight at night, but they had a shuttle to take you to your room if you needed it due to having parked too far from your building. Pool was gorgeous. The resort is about 12 minutes from Disney and 15- 20 minutes from Universal. Very convenient location. It is also near stores and malls. All in all, I think it was a wonderful hotel, if you are staying off Disney/Universal property.

Just returned from HGVC Int. Drive, Orlando which I booked on the advise of tripadvisor reviews. As others have said it is a beautiful property, minutes from all attractions (if you have a rental car). Pool area is huge and beautiful with two jacuzzis, kitchens are fully equipped with great quality appliances and utensils, beds very comfortable, and service excellent. Try to request buildings one or two, others are further from the pool, and four is a bit close to the construction area across the lake. If you have never toured a Hilton timeshare, you can save a considerable amount of $ by taking the two hour presentation. When you are calling to book your stay, say that you may be interested in purchasing a timeshare. You can schedule the tour as early as 8:30 am so that you can still have a full day free. Of course it is a bit high pressure, but you can just say no. Also be aware that although they clean the bathroom and change the sheets daily, they do not really clean the kitchen. This differs from when we stayed in a Disney property with a kitchen, they put the dishes in the dishwasher and cleaned thoroughly. Since I didn't really cook there, it was not a big deal, and I think the property and rooms at HGVC are just as nice as Disney villas, and also newer, at about half to one third the price.
Also check out the kids activities they have - good to break up a day that you are just relaxing by the pool. Food is decent poolside and comparably inexpensive.
Great place, we were really sorry to leave!
