“Beautiful & top notch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

This Hilton Grand Vacation resort is beautiful. Our family truly enjoys visiting the Hilton Grand Vacation resorts in Orlando and we haven't been dissappointed! We always like to spoil ourselves on vacation & these resorts fit our needs. The rooms are clean, with beautiful updated interiors. Our 1 bedroom unit came with a full kitchen including full size refrigerator, oven fully stocked cabinets w/ kitchen necessitites, washer/dryer & little balcony w/ a patio set. This type of unit includes a king size bed (extremely comfortable) in a private room with a door, 1 very roomy bathroom w/ jacuzzi/shower. It also includes a living area with a pull out sofa in a queen size bed. The kids slept on the pull out sofa bed & didn't seem to mind at all. The sofa bed is heavy duty, I tried to move it & it wouldn't budge. This size room was perfect for us having 2 teens w/ us & a 2 yr old. Having a washer/dryer in the room is fantastic when you have kids. Although there isn't any housekeeping for owners that stay 3 nights or more, you can ask for anything you need for the room & it'll be delivered to your room shortly; including more clean towels & laundry detergent. It was no big deal for us to wash our towels, so we had plenty of towels all the time. The pools are beautiful and there's also a heated jaccuzi near the pool area. The game room for the kids is also great. We really enjoyed our burgers and margaritas at the pool area the day we arrived which was great. I would recommend this if you're arriving early, since the rooms won't be available closer to 4pm. The kids loved the pool & their burgers while we enjoyed a margarita while we watched them run around the pool and water fall areas. The front desk called us on our cell phone when our room was ready which was nice. The mini deli/market has a few room supplies, wine, starbucks coffee & breakfast sandwhiches freshly made. You can sit in the deli area & enjoy the breakfast sandwhiches & starbucks coffe, we did this one morning & it was nice. For the most part we brought supplies & had breakfast in our room. The hotel grounds are extremely clean & the staff is always very kind. We had free wi-fi in our room, not sure if this is an owners amenity. The bathroom is The parks are probably about a 10-15 minute drive, and we always come with a car which is fine for us. Parking at the parks is between $15 & $20 per car/day, not bad- we would probably bypass the shuttle service if it was offered just for the convenience of coming & going when we want to. The parking fees really aren't THAT bad at the parks. Switch your GPS to avoid highways & you'll bypass alot of the traffic on I4. There are plenty of great restaurants around the Orlando area, probably a 10-15 minute drive again due to traffic lights, but most restaurants are probably about a 6 mile drive. Not bad if you have you're own car. The only thing I would add to the resort is a nice restaurant. We'd like to be able to stay in & eat if we didn't feel like going out of the resort. I would give the resort 5 stars w/ a restaurant & shuttle service to accomodate guests without a car. It does however seem that most guests arrive in their car since taxi service isn't very popular around here. I almost forgot to mention, the outlet malI is walking distance which is great for shoppers!! A final note, my sister stayed in a studio unit which included a king size bed & 1/2 size kitchen. This unit was definitely extremely small, I would definitely consider a one bedroom unit regardless if I were traveling with children. If you can afford it or have the available points to spare, chose the one bedroom unit it's, a much better choice. In my opinion, this is extremely close to a 5 star resort & I would definitely come back!

We stayed here as part of the “vacation club offer”, which means that we needed to sit through two hours of signing up for their vacation club which we concluded was not for us. I am not including that session in the review since not everyone will experience it.

Pros:
1. The rooms itself is nice. Two bedrooms, two baths, a fullish size kitchen, table, living room and patio.
2. The grounds are nice an there is a nice path around the lake. There is a pool, cafe for breakfast and lunch, and a simple store with the necessities for sale.
3. The staff was friendly.

Cons:
1. The website says that the resort is 5 miles from Disney World. In reality it is five miles from the entrance, so it is really about 8 miles away. Now this may not seem like a big difference, but the miles you must drive to get to the entrance are on some roads that get very busy very quickly. If you do stay here, I recommend that you get to the park very early, or very late, and if it is a weekday, avoid the road between 5-7 pm.
2. Avoid the pizza place on the property at all costs. It was about $20 per pie for what tasted like a frozen pizza.
3. There is no real sit down restaurant on the property. There are locations to eat nearby, which is probably the reason.
4. If you don't drive, you will have to rent a car to stay here. There is no shuttle to the parks that we know about. There is definitely no shuttle to and from the airport. I would call and confirm this however if you choose to stay here.

If you want to go to Orlando and go to a bunch of different parks, then I would recommend this place. If your intention is to go to Disney, then it really is not a good choice. The extra money you spend on the rental car and gas and if you factor in the time-value of money, then it would make more sense to just stay on Disney property.

Room Tip: If you have very small kids, ask for a first floor room. It just makes the stay easier.

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. We’re pleased you found our staff friendly and the grounds, as well as your room to be nice. As far as available shuttle services, while we do not provide any sort of service to the airport, we do offer limited shuttle service to the Disney area, and in particular, the Epcot Transportation Center, through our on-site Expedia.com Guest Services desk, with the shuttle currently departing the resort three times in the morning and picking up three times in the evening, for a fee of $9.00 per person round trip.

Our trip was cancelled due to weather, flights being cancelled. When I called to cancel the trip, I was told that the package expiration date was 4 days past and they could not refund any money at all. Not even charging the $120 cancellation fee and refunding the rest. They offered to extend for another 3 months for a $59 fee. I said no thank you. Why would I waste more money? I guess Hilton Grand Vacations isn't concerned with selling their product.

This hotel would have received a 5 if only they would have followed up on a concern we had prier to checking out. Our reservation included a late checkout for noon. We went out for breakfast,,and when we returned we went up to our room around 10:30 to find the room was already stripped of the sheets, towels, toilet paper ,etc. I guess someone had not checked that we had a late checkout .Before we left for breakfast,we did put our luggage in the car so the room may have looked like we were not returning, but there should not have been anyone in ther until after 12 pm to do any cleaning. I called the hotel the next day to express the concern and the girl I talked to said she would have her superviser call me, As of today,no one has called. A simple return phone call makes a difference between a 4/12 and 5 review.
Everything else was great. The place is huge. We were in villa #7. It was a really nice room, great views, friendly staff, large pool. The lake is nice to walk around and the outlet mall right behind our villa was an easy access through the gate with the room key. Overall a great place to stay, and will return for sure.

While we’re delighted you enjoyed the majority of your stay with us, and appreciate your kind words about the resort, as well as our friendly staff. we apologize for the disconnect regarding your late check-out on the day of your departure, as well as the lack of a follow up call to address your concern in a timely manner, and assure you we will share your comments with our operations team on-site in a positive, proactive manner to minimize the risk of another guest being similarly inconvenienced.

This is a very massive hotel. It has good rooms and nice facilities. Swimming pools, hot tubs, playgrounds, you name it. There is no much privacy. We could hear what was going on in the room next to yours, but all in all, it is well located, you have a small kitchen, the basic appliances and a table for two plus a terrace overlooking the lagoon, and the price is hard to beat. If you need more space, the larger suites have a separate living and dining area, plus washer and dryer. Excellent for staying with children and visiting the amusement parks. I would definitely stay there again if visiting the Orlando area with children. Great value.

My husband and I spent the night here last week while on our way to Cape Canaveral. The property is absolutely breathtaking. The room was spacious and clean with an amazing view of the lake. Our time here was really too short and I look forward to returning. Service was amazing and the pizza from the pizza place on the property was delicious! Parking really is an issue here but they appear to have a system where guests can opt to be transported via golf cart. We didn't use it but it was nice to see that they were attempting to accomodate the guests as much as possible.

We read the postings regarding this Hilton Grand Vacation suites on International drive (aka Hilton Grand Vacation Tuscany) and once again Tripadvisors reviewers are dead on.

This place was fantastic. My family and I stayed at this property for 1 week in December 2012. We rented the 1 bedroom suite with a connecting bachelor lock-off unit. So, it was like a 2 br unit. The total square footage was over 1,000 sq ft combined. The 1 br suite had a full size kitchen with all of the usual appliances such as a slide in range, fridge, and dishwasher. It utensils and pots/pans for cooking as well. It was very nice equipped. Just outside of the kitchen, there was a glass dinette set with seating for four (4). Or if you like, you can eat outside in the covered balcony that looked like a lanai except ours was on the 4th floor facing the pond.

The 1 bedroom contained a soaker tub with jets (jacuzzi). There was a spacious ensuite that had a glass shower, double sink and toilet. Overall, the unit had a very Mediterranean feel to it.

The property is conveniently located adjacent a large outlet mall. And, across the street is the Publix grocery store. It is also quite close to the Downtown Disney on Buena Vista. It was about 8 minutes drive due to the traffic on South Apopka Vineland and Buena Vista Drive. And, it is not far from Disney theme parks and Universal studio. Location wise, I really liked it. Even going to airport was only about 30 minutes by car. Not bad at all.

As far as amenities go, there was a large swimming pool, a hot tub and a bar located close to the check in area. There is a game room with 2 pool tables and lots of arcades. There is a business center room next to the game room. The computers and printers cost money to use. We had to pay $0.75 to print per page. And, the computer terminal cost $0.50 per minute to use. Printing boarding passes was free. I was alittle bit disappointed that HGV wouldn't provide free surfing and printing available to its guests. However, Internet access in your suite is free. WIFI was available.

There was adequate parking during my stay but barely. Usually the parking lot was full in the morning. Parking was free.

Overall, a very enjoying stay at this property with its excellent location and beatified amenities. I think you will also appreciate all that they have to offer as well.

Room Tip: Check in earlier to select the best room. Ask for higher floors facing the lake/ pond.
