We were first timers to the Rose and Crown. My hubby suggested that he would like to try their fish and chips, but we always find it too busy to try. This time I made lunch reservations ahead of our trip. We dined here at noon (their earliest seating) on July 4th. It seemed as though people showing up without reservations that day for lunch were accomodated with a short wait, so it didn't appear to be super busy.
We were seated inside (not asked if we prefer in our out) but that was fine as hubby doesn't handle heat all that well. The seating is rather crowded, and we were almost intimate with the couple next to us. LOL
Hubby ordered the fish and chips (of course) and I let our waiter decide for me. He chose the cottage pie. By the way, our waiter was excellent. I wasn't disappointed with the cottage pie, and was happy the waiter made the right choice for me. I WOULD have been a little disappointed in the fish and chips because it would have been too greasy for ME. It had good flavor, but very oily for my taste.
We didn't get an appetizer or desert, so lunch with two sodas (free refills) was about $65 after tip. It's what we've come to expect with any Disney dining.
We enjoyed our lunch, would recommend it to others, and would return again except that there are too many other places to try next time.
