My family and I just returned from a trip to WDW, and ate dinner at Mama Melrose's on May 11, 2008. My husband and I had dined at this restaurant during two previous trips, and had been pleased with our meals. We arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes prior to our reservation time, and registered at the desk. Despite having the reservation, we still had to wait 25 minutes in a crowded lobby before we were seated. My husband ordered fish, I ordered a chicken & pasta dish, and our children ordered pasta and pizza. My son also ordered a tossed salad with Italian dressing on the side. Our waiter informed us that they only had ranch dressing (no other dressing choices). I asked that the ranch dressing be on the side since I wasn't sure that he would like it. When the salad arrived, we had to send it back because the tiny amount of lettuce and shaved carrots was swimming in ranch dressing. When we asked the waiter to take it back, he was obviously annoyed with us. My husband's fish was OK, but my chicken dish was tasteless. Our son's pizza was fine, but our daughter ate only a few bites of her pasta because the sauce was so spicy.
If you are looking for a place to eat at Hollywood Studios, skip Mama Melrose's. We were very disappointed in our food and in the service. In our opinion, the food and service were not what they used to be.
