My husband dined here in December under the deluxe Disney Dining plan. We thought this was, by far, the best one credit meal that we had at Disney. We made reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of our check in time. The restaurant is beautiful. It made for a great intimate setting for a date night. There was even a proposal that night, which was sweet. Our server was very nice and made some great wine recommendations.
The food was outstanding. If I was rating the food alone, I would have rated it a 5. We started with the escargot and the baked goat cheese salad. The escargot was great and the salad was a perfect start to the meal. My husband had the duck, which came with both the breast and a leg, atop sweet potato puree and some sort of squash. It was also delicious. My husband raved about the duck, and we were both in love with the squash. I had the salmon served over smashed potatoes and a tomato, red pepper sauce. The salmon was cooked nicely and the sauce was amazing and very light and tasty. For dessert we shared the chocolate mousse and the strawberry and cream cake. Both were very good, but the cream cake won the dessert war.
As I said, the restaurant provides a very intimate setting- one good enough for a marriage proposal, however it was a bit too intimate. I read a lot of reviews and we were prepared that the tables were very close together. However, we were not prepared for the pre-teen angst which caused a heated family discussion at the table right next to us. To be fair, the family was trying to be quite, but the tables are SO close together, it made our meal a bit uncomfortable. I understand this isn't the restaurants fault, and it didn't ruin our meal. Also, when we paid with our dining plan, we left cash to cover the tip and the extras. When we checked out of the hotel, we learned that we had accidentally (we hope) paid twice- in cash and a room charge (even though we wrote "Cash" under the tip portion and the total of the original receipt). This mishap was taken care of painlessly at the hotel front desk.
Overall this was a great restaurant. I would definitely come back and recommend this to friends. Next time I would try to request a table closer to the windows, which didn't seem as close together.
