“Good atmosphere, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2012

Went in here on impulse while waiting for the rest of the family who were in Disney Quest and were very pleasantly surprised. It never looks much from the outside but the menu is pretty good and there was a good buzz inside. Despite having no reservation we were seated within 5 minutes and our server was excellent - genuinely friendly and very efficient. The quality of the food was very good and great value. We'll visit again.

“Nice :)”

Great food and atmosphere. I wish we liked one of the artists playing to see a concert but lunch was nice. Tasty flatbreads & Lobster Mac & Cheese.

“One of our favorite restaurants is no more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

We have been enjoying lunch and dinner at House of Blues since it opened in Orlando -- always eating there at least once on our 5+ trips a year to WDW. Unfortunately, with the announcement of new Chef Aaron Sanchez, the menu has suffered due to the changes.

Before the menu change, the ribs at HOB were some of the best we have ever tasted. The chicken gouda pasta was by far the creamiest, tastiest anywhere. The burgers were humungous. Sadly, all of these are gone. The replacement menu is supposed to have some flair in it -- for example, the jambalya, which somone like Sanchez should know how to create -- didn't taste like jambalya at all. It was more like a risotto/rice concoction.

Fortunately, the bar is as lively and fun as ever, and many of the bartenders and wait staff are still there, so the ambience continues to be enjoyable. But when we mentioned our disappointment with the new menu, most of the staff we talked to agreed that it had not improved.

So, if one of you House of Blues higher ups happens to read this, consider bringing back some of the old menu standards. Let Aaron have his stamp on the new items, but restore some of the long standing dishes as well. Folks like us will then be sure to visit again when we dine at Downtown Disney.

“We ate dinner here prior to going into La Nouba - Cirque du Soleil”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

We enjoyed a great appetizer and a some drinks at the outside bar before our show. They didn't hve outside servide, so we had to go into the bar, order and wait for the food, then take everything outside. A little inconvienent, but worth it. Great warm up for the show.

“Awesome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

We arrived about an hour before our reservation - talked to the hostess - they were able to take us in early - and the restaurant didn't disappoint. My brother-in-law and husband had the bacon wrapped meatloaf, they cleaned their plates!!! I had the lobster macaroni & cheese. Delish!! My sister had the chicken - it is enough for 2-3 people to eat. Appetizers and desserts were also very good....would recommend.
