“Most food was spicy but good.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2013

The atmosphere was crazy with lots of loud talking patrons probably due to the background music being loud. The food was quite pricey but it is in downtown Disney so it should have been expected. Almost everything on the menu, even the item pointed out by server as not spicy, were spicy.

“Finished off a great last night!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

We had an absolutely fantastic night at Bongos, from the minute we walked in. Our server was very attentive and talked us through some of the items on the menu and answering any of our questions. We had never tried Cuban food before so it was great to have him on hand to explain to us.

Me and my wife both had a Cuban style steak with plantains, beans and rice. Food was absolutely beautiful, steak was cooked to perfection! We also shared a mojito which came in a souvenir class which was pretty cool and the mojito itself was very good.

Overall was a very nice way to end our honeymoon here in Disney!

“Awful Food & Service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

We went for lunch last week and were greatly disappointed. Ordered the pork tamale appetizer, big let down it had no flavor. It was a plate of wrapped bland mush. I ordered the Cuban Style Steak Sandwich, it was so tough it was inedible, the fries were cold (I watched the waitress bring out the food and stop to chat to other servers for a long while before she made her way over). Grrr. We went there because my bf wanted Ropa Vieja. He was served ground taco meat, this was not even close to the description on the menu. Tthis was an awful meal and one we wish we hadn't done. The waitress took my sandwich off the bill when she saw I hadn't eaten it. We noticed the rest of the trip that "Bongos" is not included in any of the ads for Downtown Disney.

“Fun night out at Bongos”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

We had a very nice time at Bongos. We arrived at 6:30 without a reservation. We asked for a table outside and was seated within 5 minutes at a great table looking over the lake. Our server was very attentive and explained some of the traditional dishes offered. We all ordered different dishes and were happy with the results. The Mojitos were very weak but tasty. The entertainment outdoors added to a very nice evening. All in all, the food is far from gourmet, but overall I would recommend Bongos for a fun night in DTD.

“A Disappointment”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

First of all, the young girl at the front counter had no personality, no special greeting whatsoever. Secondly, our Mojitos were not very good as their was barely any mint inside and they originate from Cuba. Also, they messed up on our order giving us ground beef stuffed plantains which were awful and bland instead of the shredded beef. Still not very good.
Don't be fooled by the beautiful exterior of this restaurant and the lovely music that they try to lure you in with.
