We visited this restaurant for the first time seven months ago. When we were back in the Orlando area recently, I was craving their churrasco, a deliciously grilled skirt steak, and their rice and beans. If I didn't know better, I'd swear I'm part Cuban. Black beans and rice is my ultimate comfort food, and I didn't grow up eating it. They do it perfectly at Bongos, but the churrasco is the best part of the meal. The seasonings are just perfect; it melts in your mouth.
The Combo a lo Bongo appetizer is a great way to start the meal. It's a sample platter of some delicious typical Cuban specialties. We also highly recommend the sangria. The sweet, fruity wine is a perfect combination with the flavorful Cuban food.
The decor at this restaurant is perfect - casual, yet elegant. You feel like you're somewhere special. We've eaten outdoors, upstairs, and downstairs. There is no bad location at this restaurant. And the music is muy tropical. Lots of Gloria covers and other great Cuban music. A fun evening out either as a couple or with friends.
