Description: Santiago's Bodega presents a unique tasting experience featuring small plates that hopscotch between decadent (a warm Camembert wedge topped with sauteed garlic, onions, almonds, apricots, chopped dates, bell peppers), refreshing (yellow fin tuna, avocado, mango ceviche), exotic (lamb patties with fresh thyme, sherry, lemon zest) and just plain comfort-food-delicious (Roman meatballs on angel hair, or fried potatoes in a spicy sauce). As nothing costs over $15, there’s no major commitment, and if the relationship doesn't work, move along to the next selection. The menu’s ideal for sharing and for mixing up in endless combinations. Alternate between chevre tartlet, spanakopita, or smoked salmon carpaccio. Invent your own meal. Dining in such a way permits the rules of wine pairings to step aside like snooty impostors, and what goes best with dinner is exactly what tempts you. Santiago’s Bodega is a good-natured, low-key, food-lovers hangout, a neighborhood restaurant. - Margit Bisztray

“Loved this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2014

We have a dining group called GWDA (Girls Who Dine Around). With a group of 8 in attendance our evening started with drinks at the bar and the bartenders were wonderful and the drinks were creative and tasty.

We continued our experience with a wonderful waitron (Shelly) and a plethora of small dishes with generous portions for sharing. The prices were reasonable and I have not doubt we will go back soon!

“Good, but not quite the hype”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2014

Hate hype, especially when it comes to restaurants. Well tonight we went out with some good friends to enjoy colorful insight and conversation at one of the most popular restaurants in Orlando. This place is so much a landmark, that I recently saw it referenced by a "real estate novelist" in a house listing nearby. The place, Santiago Bodega and in my opinion, it is hype. On a Monday Night, the service was expectedly quick, but the food was mediocre. Shrimp Bisque was edible, the brussels sprouts and ceviche were heavy. The spanakopita was greasy and the cheese platter had several pieces that were as hard as a rock. The conversation was good, but it usually is.

“Tapas Style Cuisine”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2014

Great food!! Have been here numerous times and never left dissappointed. Took 10 family members here on a Sunday. And everyone said how great their food was. Here are some of the Must Try I recommend:
1) Mushrooms wrapped in bacon
2) curry lentil soup
3) ceviche

“Served raw un-sushi grade cobia tapas and raw lamb chop tapas”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2014

Service and food quality is poor and the price is high. Our bill was over $100 with tip and there are many other places in Orlando with superior food quality and service compared to this horrible experience. We ordered a variety of tapas and 2 of them were on the "special featured" menu, one was the cobia and the other the lamb chop lollipops (order of 3). The Cobia was a big piece of fish that was raw in the inside and under cooked, not edible and not sushi grade. One of the 3 lamb chops was raw as well and when I mean raw it was grey and cold not medium pink or medium rare. Our server was friendly and when we told her the situation she had the lamb chop order made again to make up for the one raw. She asked if we would like the fish cooked or a new order or try something else. We opted to try something else after we learned it was the second time this particular dish had been sent back for undercooked. We ordered the sea scallops. We also ordered the mushrooms wrapped in bacon, that order was never put in and when the server asked if we still wanted them mid way through service we said yes. She never wrote any items down and at 9pm we asked about the mushrooms and she admitted she forgot to put them in. That's after we reminded her essentially a third time, again never writing the order down. The mushrooms were greasy and not worth it and the best thing on the menu is the brussel sprouts and the bacon wrap dates.

What surprised me was when the bill came the only concession made for the entire bill was removing the cost of the cobia tapa $14 with a generated comp of "did not like it". In any other restaurant if there is negligence on the restaurant end it's customary to comp the garbage that was served and replace it with an item of choice, which for us was the scallops. Not here it's very basic in creating the patron experience and no table touch. Two items were served raw, one tapa never came out after being ordered 3 times with a delivery of 9pm and NO MANAGER ever came to the table. Again at $100 tab I would expect more from a restaurant that's famous in Key West and fairly new to Orlando. It's a shame as there seems to be no leadership or customer satisfaction interest. I would not recommend this establishment except for drinks, cheese, bacon wrapped dates and brussels. Over 3 service issues in one table seating would prompt a manager to visit, but not here. They just deliver the bill with a smile. :) Not to mention our water glasses were never refilled until completely empty and prompted.

“Brunch Excellent, Service So So”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2014

Decided to go to the brunch offered by Santiago Bodega with some friends the place was pack, reservations is recommended. Really like the place, different food to choose from on their buffet from crab legs, to tuna tartare, lamb, pasta, omelettes, unlimited mimosas and sangria. The only flaws they only offers omlettes if you want eggs other style they dont offered them, you have to place the order for omelettes, pasta, french toast to the server if you can find him (at least out server). Our only complaint was our server, no where to be found to order coffee, juice or mimosas that we have to go to the bar area to get them. We order french toast and we got them when we were done as well for the coffee we order. I dont know if it was not a good day for him or he is like that but because of him is that we are giving the rest a 3 star instead of 5. Will be back again but will request different server.
