Contrary to previous reviews, we found the service to be helpful. Waitress was very friendly. Ordered two 1/2 liters of beer and potato pancakes to share as appetizer for three of us. The pancakes were good but a bit heavy for our taste. The applesauce was tasty and my husband said the sour cream was thick and delicious. The waitress mentioned that the owner was from the Berlin area and they add sugar to the toppings as well. For dinner we had chicken cutlet with red cabbage, green beans and cheese spaetzle and a weinerschnitzel with hunters gravy and mashed potatoes and red cabbage. Meats were hot and tasty. The red cabbage was good, but a tad too sweet. Next time we will get the plain spaetzle as cheese seemed a bit "gloppy" on top. The desserts appear to not be homemade so we would not order next time. Got a complimentary shot of schnapps (very tame) with whipped cream. There is plenty to look at in this restaurant. Kids would feel welcome. Friday and Saturday nights they have a band - seemed to be a dance floor area. The owner/chef came out a few times and was like an efficient grandmother. This is not gourmet food but you will be satisfied.
