We had high expectations for Seasons 52; and, stopped in for lunch on our 25th wedding anniversary. We made no mention to the wait staff or the hostess; and, because we had no reservations, we were seated in a booth, outside the bar; and, away from the lakeside view.
The restaurant was nearly empty, as we arrived prior to the lunch-rush; but, I don’t believe the “good tables” ever filled up the entire time we were there. This was our second visit to Seasons 52; and, we noticed the place could stand a good cleaning. There was dust everywhere, on the light fixtures, and, along the wall of the booth.
Being lunch-time, we opted for a light appetizer of double hummus, which was very, very good. The mint/edamame hummus (actually a puree) was very light and tasty; and, the roasted red pepper hummus was hearty and tasty. The hummus was served with an ample amount of Lavosh.
For our main course, I chose the Rocky Mountain Buffalo burger; and, my wife chose the Wild Prime Tuna burger. The tuna was a stand-out, as the wasabi mayonnaise, arugula, and asian slaw perfectly complimented the rare-to-medium rare tuna, without overpowering it! If you crave buffalo, however, your better bet is Fuddruckers! For the same price, you get twice the meat; and, can put on your own toppings. The truffle sauce, lettuce, tomato, and pickle were just too much for the bland meat.
Service was excellent, although a little too “rote.” When I wanted to ask how the steak fries were prepared, the server just prattled on about how healthy our mains were, before plowing into desserts. These tasty treats were literally literally invented here; and, each "Mini Indulgence" is actually quite a bit MORE than a single-serving! Cappuccino’s at nearly $4 each were not worth the price; but, provided a savory complement to the very-sweet desserts.
