I make a point to visit Seasons 52 whenever I'm in Orlando, about 6 times a year. If you want to eat dinner between 5:30 and 7:00, reservations are a must. You will pay more than going to another chain (yes, it's a chain, owened by Darden, the same people who own the Olive Garden. who knew?) but it's worth the extra few dollars.
The food is fresh, local and organic where possible. The menu changes each season, to better represent the foods of the season...hence the name, Seasons 52 (as in the weeks of the year). There is also a separate vegan menu you can get upon request. Best to let them know when you make the reservation if there are vegan diners, special requests, etc.
Serving sizes are for real people - not tiny and not ridiculously huge. Caloric contect is taken into account, indeed, entrees are all well under 500 calories. This isn't diet food, people, this is healthy food prepared beautifully and full of flavor.
Service is impeccable and the wine list is superb. One can also request a black napkin in lieu of white to prevent lint on black clothing. There is outdoor seating facing Turkey Lake as well as optional valet parking.
The one "problem" is that I thought I'd found a local gem - then did some research and found it is a small, high quality chain. Evidently one has just moved into Boston. The good thing is that it's a small, high quality chain...so I don't have to wait to go to Orlando.
The lowest rating I gave was to families with children - some children are awesome in nice restaurants and can eat food other than chicken nuggets. Other children....not so much. If you have well behaved kids who aren't afraid of eating something new or different (or perhaps what they're familiar with, if their parents are feeding them right) then they'll like this place, too. There are small, mini-deserts that taste decadent, and provide just the right size for either a child or an adult who'd like a bit of sweet.
