“Very Good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2012

The food was hot and fresh.
The service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it.

“The changes on the menu was a disappointment.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2011

We used to love the Samba Room's menu selection. They have changed it to mostly tapas selections. Our appetizer of empinadas were very good. The choices for entrees was limited. We both ordered a fish dish that the waitress recommended and we were both underwhelmed. Overall the food was good, but not great as in the past. The service and atmosphere is still wonderful. If you want to go with tapas alone, this may be a better choice.

“disappointing....”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2010

We went there on a double date with our friends on a Monday night. (Not a busy night for a restaurant) The server Took really long to serve our meals. the food was extremely cold. the water spilled on us and no one helped out or gave us another napkin to clean up. Servers did not ask how we were liking the food or if everything was ok.

The prices over all are horrible ( really expensive) for a small portion of food. very small portion.

Overall I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO ANYONE.

I think there are a lot of better places in Orlando you could go spend your money in.

I am very disappointed!

“Ok food, irritating server”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2010

Our server was overbearing and condescending; he explained everything to us in excruciating detail as if it was our first time in a restaurant and was visibly disappointed when he couldn't upsell us on a bottle of wine. I ordered the paella and I'm 99% sure the rice came from a box. It was rubbery. I didn't pay that much money to have Uncle Ben's on a plate with some meat. My husband's meal was very good; he had the chef's special, but we both agreed that the service was such a turn-off that we will not be returning to the Samba Room.

“Acceptable food, poor service - I won't be back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2010

While in Orlando, we recently visited the Samba Room upon the recommendation of our hotel's concierge. The Samba Room is located in a strip shopping center with a fairly non descript entrance. Interior decor is consistent with the relatively spartan "strip mall" type restaurant. We were promptly seated by the hostess, but the waiter was consistently slow and he failed to ask whether we wanted to order wine, even though one of our party was holding the wine list. When prompted about ordering wine, the waiter went away and came back to say that the vintage was not available and they had failed to remove it from the list and the second vintage we ordered was similarly "not available" after the waiter again went to check. Needless to say, we didn't have wine....The mojitos are made with real cane syrup and were very good - we were told the only "official" mojitos in town.

For appetizers, the cerviche was bland but the Three cheese dip and the empanadas were great. The crab cakes, scallops and skirt steak were all well prepared and pleasantly presented - nothing really special, but certainly acceptable.

We had a decent meal at an acceptable price, but the service was poor - I won't go back.
