Sunday is a great day to visit this park. We parked in the carpark in Thornton Park. It was an ideal place to park as we could explore Thornton Park which was full of young "well heeled" locals having their Sunday brunch in trendy restaurants (Hues and Dexters looked the best of them)
After wondering around Thornton Park we then strolled around the lovely lake Eola which took us about half a hour. It was full of families, joggers and dog walkers. (As well as a few down and outs but they were not threatening) There was a lot of wildlife on the lake- swans and other water birds. The swan pedal boats looked fun and quite easy to manoeuvre. We then went round the quite large farmers market which was full of interesting stalls including arts and crafts.
Downtown Orlando was surprisingly nice with clean streets and a relaxed atmosphere although I expect it's pretty busy and bustling on a week day.
