First night there we had a leaky ac unit in the room and the carpet was soaked by morning. The room was at least grungy to say the least with old stained carpet, dry rotted bathroom floor, bed mattresses were worn out and you could actually feel the springs.went to the desk and asked for a new room the next day and they did do that with no problem, but the room was still worn out with stained carpet and broken bath light which i had to slap to work.Mattresses were as bad as the old room and i even had to remove a lizard from the window. Will not stay at this place or an econo lodge again.I rate this so called resort,-the ghetto.

When we arrived to Orlando and finally got our rental car we were beat. We used the courtesy telephone in the Airport to call area hotels. The Econolodge was the cheapest. They only had one room left and it was a smoking room. We were so tired we did not care. We was quoted a price of $39.99 but we actually paid about $34.00. The room was clean, did not smell like cigarette smoke, very well air conditioned, and cozy. It even had a safe, mini refrigerator, and microwave. I stayed at the Hilton Dulles just that Saturday and did not have a mini refrigerator and microwave and, as you know, the cost for that room was $340.00. I thoroughly enjoyed my midnight stay and, as the previous post stated, it was good for arriving late in the evening/early in the morning. We stayed at the McCoy Road location.

March 25, 2004. Room 132. 2 adults. Carpet was threadbare, unraveling in areas, and had signficant stains. Original designer apparently thought a light, cream color was a good choice for a carpet--it's not.
The security lock (the throw arm over the bolt) was missing. We placed our heavy suitcases in front of the door for peace of mind. The "continental breakfast" was a coffee machine and some creamer, and some plastic wrapped cheap pastries. This was not useful as an actual breakfast. There were no tissues in the room. The hotel runs a free shuttle service to the airport from 4:30AM until 2:00AM. This was great for our very late (11:30pm) night arrival. The bathroom was very large and nicely furnished (other than those tissues). There really was nothing housekeeping could do about the stained carpet, other than keep it cleaned and vacuumed, which it was. The rest of the room in general was very attractive--if you could have kept your sight above carpet level, it would have been a very nice room. The TV was 25" and cable.
There was a very nice pool, a kids' pool, and a"spa." Our total price after all taxes and charges came to $32.34. This was a great price, and having an inexpensive place to go to late at night after an arrival into Orlando from the west was a good deal. No sense in immediately spending high resort rates for a day and night already gone. Also, no need to start your car rental until the next day--take the free shuttle back to the airport again to pick up a car.
