Owner description: Disney's Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show is an all-you-care-to-eat, family-style luau featuring hula dancing and a fire-knife performer at Disney's Polynesian Resort.Situated on the Seven Seas Lagoon, the open-air covered dining theater provides a comfortable setting for authentic music and dances, with beautiful costumes, irresistable rhythms and the show-stopping fire-knife dance! The many nations of the South Pacific unite in an evening of spellbinding magic that tells the tale of a native girl returning to her people and her traditions. You'll almost believe you've been transplanted to the tropics as you and your loved ones share platters of authentic foods such as barbequed pork ribs, roast chicken, fresh pineapple, salad with mango poppy seed dressing garnished with Mandarin oranges, Polynesian-style rice and seasonal vegetables. Save room for the chocolate ""mouse"" volcano! (Parents of finicky little ones, fear not: There's a limited children's menu). “Loved it. Food was great.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

The food was great. Free beer and wine. Tons of food. Great service. Wish the show had a better story. Timing was good. Dessert was bread pudding with sauce. Jason was our server and he was awesome. Had great conversation with the family next to us. We will take our girls back again. We had a good time together.

“Delightful Way to Spend an Evening”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

We were staying at the Polynesian, so the commute was a 5-minute walk. Food was on the table before we were seated, and we were pleasantly surprised with its quality after reading several negative reviews. There was a delicious slaw, some Asian noodles, and a green salad with a nice vinaigrette. The entertainment is a little High School Musical-ish for a few minutes, but the majority of the show is Polynesian dancing performed by gorgeous people. What's not to like? Also, the dessert was fabulous. My husband usually does not like bread pudding, but he really enjoyed this one.

“A must a least once!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2013

I have always wanted to go to this and with the steep price tag I was on the fence after seeing the reviews. Made our reservations 3 months in advance. I was very annoyed the I had to pay an adult meal price for a 11 year old who is picky to begin with but we did it. Your drinks and alcohol are included in this so if your server actually comes around get your drinks in. They certainly are slow and do not refill or get seconds unless asked. The meal is served family style and good. You can ask for more of anything, and they bring it but you have to ask. The atmosphere is amazing. Now for the show... I HATED the story line, Disney please get rid of it. Bring on the dancers, audience participation, and music and you will have a winner. The story is just plain stupid! Everyone is saying the same thing. The dancers and the fire walkers are great, unfortunately that comes at the very end. It runs about 2 hours and if they cut out the story it would be a little shorter. I loved the experience but will not go back if they are still pushing the dumb love story. There really is no place for it.. It is kind of like 50 first dates meets Disney style! Boring. As for families with small children under 6... it is not entertaining. Little kids will be bored and want to go to the beach instead!

“The end is the best part”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

I was very much looking forward to this. About halfway through dinner I took one of my nieces for a walk because I had to get out of there and she was more than willing to break free too. The whole first half of the 'show' is ridiculous. They try to build a storyline around the silly comments and dances, but it falls flat. The food is okay and although the luau is outside, you are completely covered and it feels a little claustrophobic. Luckily I came back in time for the best part which was the actual seemingly-authentic hula dancing from the different islands and regions and the fire dancer. That's what I expected to see at the luau and what they should showcase more.

“Not worth it at all!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2013

I have gone to the Sea World Luau many times which is AWESOME and air conditioned. This show is out doors in the sweltering heat, the food wasn't to bad, but you have flies all over it and yourself. The singing was good! But the show itself is not authentic. It is ho hum! If you are seated in a bad spot you have a pole blocking your view. Our server Manny was great....on top of the drinks and items needed before we even asked. I would NOT recommend this one. There is a better one up the road!
