“Excellent Dinner Show”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

The show was great and the dinner is good too. The show is the main reason you go. The food is brought to your table family style with all you want. Lots of bbq items like ribs, chicken, fish, and some seafood. Quality was ok. Would visit again though.

“Had a great time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012 via mobile

Husband and I saw the show last night along with our adult daughter, who lives in Orlando. We actually had a very good time. The show, especially the fire dancer, was entertaining and the food was good. Those that complain that it is "cafeteria food" know before going that it is an all you can eat, family style dinner so they should have been a little more realistic in their expectations! We ate at Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge the last time we were at Disney expecting an awesome meal and came away very disappointed. We enjoyed this meal so much more because we didn't expect it to be some off the charts meal. And this time, we had some enjoyable entertainment. I would do it again. Oh and a couple got engaged at the very beginning of the show. Really cute....wish them the best!

“Our class 1 table had a great view of a wooden post”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

Let me preface this unfavorable review by saying that my son and I are big Disney fans who are all fired up for our next visit a month from now.
We attended the Spirit of Aloha show in 2011. We were so excited and paid top dollar to get a class 1 table. Well, we ended up with front row seats directly behind one of the posts that holds up the roof over the area where the tables are. To experience this for yourself, rent a movie you've been dying to see, get a strip of masking tape, run it down the middle of your TV screen, then enjoy your movie. We were so disappointed. After eating, we finally got up and stood in an empty area between the class 2 tables so that we could have an unobstructed view.
Realizing that you splurged on a view of a post is disappointing, but even apart from the seating issue, we were pretty underwhelmed by the show, once we could see it. People dressed in tropical prints, some Polynesian, some clearly not, a story that I can't even remember now, people doing things that you or I could do after a weekend hula workshop (with a couple of exceptions, most notably the fire twirler!). I'm certain it was nothing like a real luau, but perhaps a real luau would be too real for Disney...
Lastly, I know that a lot of people like the "all you can eat" part of things like this, and we did enjoy the food, but they brought the two of us enough food to feed 6 and it was sort of depressing watching 4 chicken breasts and a pile of ribs on their way to the trash bin after we had finished eating. It's not like they can serve the leftovers to someone else.
We're set up for the Hoop de Doo Revue this time around, and looking forward to it, based on the positive reviews on this site.

“Luau Dinner Theater”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 7, 2012

It started out slow but progressed into an amazing show. The food didn't look like much but it was amazing!! Plus you get to eat out of pewter leaf plates and unlimited drinks!!! The volcano desert was out of this world.
