“Dilapidated, Neglected, but great location”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

Its across from Wet N Wild. It has a pretty good steakhouse attached to it. It is in the North part of International Drive. You can see Universal Studios from the Hotel. Friendly staff. Big fridge, good parking, big closet. Pool only, no Hot tub or Jacuzzi. The hotel is falling to pieces and the owner doesn't care....Oops. Thats right. The first room they gave us the electronic door lock was completely broken. The staff said there is no maintenance man on Tuesdays. I say there is none 7 days a week. The 2nd room they gave us had a live, large rolling caterpillar on the bed. The 3rd room had a broken dehumidifier and AC, and the 4th room had 2 small stained Queen Beds, and we never received housekeeping for the days we stayed there. We saw her 2x and tried to speak to her. She speaks 0 english, and never cleaned out room. The bottom side of the mattress appeared to have a dried large blood stain on it, and some dead insects. We had to ask for bags and change our own garbage pails. The vent was broke in the bathroom and falling out of the wall. Ancient light switches in room, I thought i'd get electrocuted touching them. We ran out of toilet paper. There is no sleep timer on the TV remote. The terribly stained carpet in the entire hotel smells strong of Mold. There are no night stands on the sides of the bed. The bathroom door opens and scrapes the front of the toilet. You can not sit and close the door! Beds are soo stiff you can not lay sideways, it hurts too much. The workout room has a broken elliptical machine. The game room has 3 broken games. It takes 3-4 swipes of your room key for the door lock to properly read it, and thats after re-programming it 3 times! There are broken water fountains throughout the hotel. Did I mention its directly across from Wet N Wild?

Room Tip: Get queen beds, bring toilet paper, Lysol, bleach, Raid, lots of plastic bags, good walking shoes an...

Me and my family stayed here for 2 weeks over July and thought the hotel was great. It is directly across the road from wet and wild and there is an I Ride stop outside the hotel as well. We arrived early afternoon, to a quick check in and we never got charged any resort fee as other people said they had to pay. The room was big and spacious with two double beds, it was outdated and had a faint smell of damp but it was clean. It had a large flat screen tv, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, coffee maker and had free wi fi. The room was cleaned everyday and they always changed the towels. For the price we paid for this hotel it was fine, we weren't expecting to spend much time in the hotel, visiting parks etc and if ever visiting Orlando again I would stay here!!

Upon arrival and checking in, you are made to pay a credit card fee of $20 which is unmentioned in the terms and conditions. You are told "ah that's just for us" !!! no other reason !!
On route to the hotel room it was clearly obvious the cleanliness of the hotel was in a poor state of affairs. Carpets in the corridors littered and covered in stains, a stench of dampness and enough humidity to boil and egg. The room was very spacious "good point", the stench of dampness was present in the room, the bedding was damp, the carpets were filthy "evident by the colour of your socks after 10 mins of walking around the room" around the beds and the skirting boards there was build up of dust "when was this room last hovered" and the underside of the bathroom sink was like it hadn't seen a mop in years. The bedding wasn't changed for 5 days even though they were ment to be changed every 2 days. The air conditioning system was very dated with a separate de-humidifier unit plumed in as an after thought. These units had to be ran constantly to make the room bearable to live in however it felt like you were sharing a room with an aircraft engine. None of the hotel vending machines were working or broken. the pool area was disgusting, pool water condition was filthy, the pool bottom was littered with bugs and stones. The decking area was in poor shape with loose and rotten decking boards. The outside bar area was dilapidated and falling apart with the rear end of the building looking like a building site and in my opinion should have been barrier'd off. The pool side shower had a make shift cable operated on/off for the water, this had sharp barb like edges which upon first use punctured my finger. The only plus side to the hotel stay was the black angus steak house joined onto the hotel.

We have stayed in this hotel in previous years, when it was owned by Best Western chain, and it was great THEN. On our last visit we booked in and were shown our room. Dated and smelled damp. To my absolute horror and disgust stood on a large cockroach which was on the floor, in our room. We put a glass over it and immediately took our bags and belongings, went to reception and got a refund and promptly left the building. With the damp smell, and uncleanliness, they obviously have a cockroach problem. The manager did not deny this, or was in anyway horrified. Do not book. recommend Holiday Inn Sunspree which is a fantastic hotel - go there, that's where we went and spent the rest of our holiday!

Room Tip: Do not go here

Brilliant staff, great location, the rooms was cleaned everyday! We had a problem with our money card and the staff were so helpful they went above and beyond.the pool was brilliant and clean towels were provided had a young child with us and he loved it rooms were so spacious,we was worried when we booked then looked at reviews but we didn't have a problem! At the end of the day if you want a 5* hotel then book a five star hotel if you travel hundreds of miles to a place like florida to just sit in your hotel room then don't! Lovely experience would book again!

The hotel itself has a great location and is well known due to Wet and Wild being across the road. We booked the hotel through Booking.com and were not made aware of the resort fees and tax that would be added which was and extra $130 we hadn't expected to pay.
The room was large and things were quite dated but we hadn't paid a fortune so this could be overlooked. There was a fridge, Microwave and coffee maker in the room which was a bonus and a large flat screen television. The bed linen was clean but the pillows were not comfortable the bathroom had plenty of towels.
The general cleanliness of the whole place though I felt left a lot to be desired. While the linen and towels were clean the dirt that was under and behind the bed as well as the dirt behind the lockers was not good!! Housekeeping was somewhat inconsistent with coffee and loo rolls being left some days and then not on others but that wasn't a huge deal. The air conditioning unit in the room was leaking water and there was a damp smell in the room where the carpet was saturated. The lifts stank due to the aged carpet and did not make for a pleasnt ride even though it only was up three stories.
The pool area was a bit lifeless with no music and a boarded up pool bar which would have been nice if in use. The pool however was a good size and seemed to be very clean. the sunloungers could have done with some sort of soft covering as they were wooden and very hard for lying on. The ice machines were nearly all broken down and it just seemed that the place was crying out for some attention and investment. I didn't find the staff at check in overly pleasnt either.
All said and done the hotel was fine as we were up early in the morning and back late at night but if you are planning in using the hotel as your main stay i'd reconsider my options as my review title states it's alright if you're not going to be there all day!!
personally I don't think i'd stay here again I'd rather pay a slight bit more and have a higher standard of room and service.

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks, nice size pool and fairly priced - great location, International Drive is full of restraunts, shops and booth's to buy tickets for days out - this isn't a 5 star hotel but is good value for money.
