“Generally good business hotel, nothing particularly spectacular”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2010

I stayed at this hotel for three nights as part of a conference. Not spending a lot of time in the hotel per se, other than for conference activities, I don't have a great deal of detail to write. However, it was a rather comfortable hotel, with good sized, modern rooms.

Please do note that the hotel really is a giant, with at least 1,000 rooms. I had a room toward the end of one of the towers, and it was a true hike from the elevator to my room and vice versa. Also there is self-parking available, but the lot is very obscurely located on the other side of the conference center. Although it parking there was convenient when leaving from the conference, it was not really all that convenient to the hotel itself.

My family and I stayed a the JW last weekend for my niece's first trip to Disneyworld. I had stayed here before on business but never enjoyed the grounds. To say the least, I was shocked to find out that the tubes for the lazy river were not provided by the hotel. These cost $7 each and were a real pain to carry up and down from the room every day. The hotel should at least be a little eco-friendly and rent these to their guest so that they can be re-used and not have to be dumped after you check out. The only reason we paid the $250 p/n charge was to enjoy the lazy river and the pool but after all the charges, it make more sence to stay at a cheaper 4* hotel and use the savings to visit Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. That way you wont have to buy the tubes!!!

My husband was at a conference and I tagged along. As with other reviewers, we found the service and amenities top-notch. A tip for people who complained about the tubes for the lazy river and the cost of the breakfast buffet - if you have a car, ask for a refrigerator for your room (no extra cost) and go to either one of the grocery stores or Walmart that are within 3 miles of the hotel and buy your beverages, breakfast food and pool rings for a lot less than they charge at the hotel (I usually only eat yogurt and a breakfast bar anyway). Also, the self-parking was not as far away as some indicated. I was in and out several times a day and found that the self-parking was much more convenient than valet. It was a short walk thru the convention area to the hotel. We will definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to Orlando. The pool area was amazing.

This is a nice hotel in a great complex. The service is first class. The check in was efficient and the room was nice as well. I have stayed at both the Ritz Carlton and the JW and not much difference in the rooms. The JW side of the complex is a bit busier and louder than the RC side. Both offer very nice rooms and amenities. The Restaurant, Primo, is first class with great cuisine. Also, on the RC side, Normans is wonderful. All in all. This is a great place to stay as long as you don't want to visit anything else in Orlando. If you do, the location is somewhat of a pain and the fact that the hotel is not near much else, means lots of driving to I Drive or Disney area.

This will be our 7th year staying at the JW Marriott. This hotel is brilliant. We love staying here as its set in beautiful grounds which are lovely to have a walk around after breakfast. The lazy river swimming pool, again is amazing. This is the perfect hotel to escape the hustle and bustle of the theme parks.

Stayed here for 3 nights as a member of Marriott Rewards at Platinum level and had a great time. I just had one issue regarding breakfast which I raised with the Duty Manager and I found him patronising and unhelpful - I am still awaiting the Hotel Manager to ring me to discuss my experience as I requested. That aside, everyone else at the hotel was friendly, helpful and provided great service. The pool area is great and never an issue getting an sun-lounger.
The rooms were clear and well appointed - good location and I will certainly come back

This is a huge hotel and not for the traveller who prefers an intimate boutique stlye hotel. If you like to have all the amenities that a resort brings then this has much to offer. We were made very welcome by all staff and they went out of their way to ensure we got a good room that met our requirements. As with all large hotels there is a lot of variety in terms of the views from rooms on different sides of the building. It's worth getting a lake / pool view if you want to feel like you're in a resort. As it is attatched to the Ritz Carlton there are lots of food options within the hotel - food is quite expensive on the whole but what you'd expect from this type of hotel. The only food place which disappointed us was the Citron brasserie - breakfast was fine but dinner here was not up to the standard expected. We made full use of the fantastic Lazy River pool with our 4 year old. It was well heated and always clean during our stay.
A great base for exploring the theme parks if you like the freedom of getting away from them too! It only takes 20 minutes to drive to Disney and the others are even closer.
We liked it so much that we returned for an extra week after we were stranded by the volcano in Iceland!
