“A beautiful hotel with beautiful views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012

Used our Marriott points to stay here and were so pleased. Upon arrival the front desk staff were warm and welcoming and put us in a beautiful room overlooking the entire property with views for miles. The hotel is pristine and the grounds are too. It was quiet our first night in, but then the conference go-ers began arriving. This hotel was in full swing and the staff never missed a beat. Turn down service was exceptional. It was a treat to stay here, enjoy the pool area and be close to all that Orlando has to offer. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Higher floor with pool views are the best

I stayed at this hotel for a conference, and everything was within expectations for such an event, and for a hotel within the stature of a JW Marriott establishment. One point I would like to highlight however, is the unreliability of the Mears Airport shuttle. Firstly, when I reached Orlando Airport early in the morning, there was no one at their counter to advise on the availability of their service. Some reasons were proferred, and expecting an improvement on my return trip, I booked the shuttle only to find that it did not show up in the morning when it was supposed to. Fearing I would miss my flight, I approached the hotel concierge for assistance and in this regard, I must comment one outstanding individual "Les", who eventually made an executive decision to provide me with the hotel transport without more and on a gratis basis. I must take this opportunity to say that it was ultimately this kind gesture from Les, that put this hotel on the "will return" category from me. Only wish that there were more like him within the hospitality industry.

The site, the room, the gigantic pools, the food:all those were absolutely outstanding. I spent 4 days in this hotel and loved the stay. The pools are amazing and never seem to be overcrowded, even though the hotel is pretty family-oriented. The only negative aspect: having to pay for internet in that type of hotels. But overall, this is a great place.

Room Tip: Ask for a room ovevlooking the pools and the golf: the view is awesome.

We stayed at the JW Marriot Orlando Grande Lakes for a conference. Everything about the hotel was beautiful and high quality (guest rooms, pools, golf course, etc). The most memorial part of our stay was dinner at the hotel restaurant "Primo". The food was the best and the service was phenomenal. All of our customers had commented on the quality of the food and it made for a good impression. Would definitely come again!

Our second holiday staying at the Grande Lakes - and a second excellent experience! Staff were all superb - couldn't do enough to help. Hotel immaculately clean with a a great 'atmosphere'. We upgraded our room to a suite - plenty of space and great views. The lazy pool was a big hit again with our son - a great place for the parents to chill out and for the kids to have fun in a safe, secure environment.
During our stay a large convention was in progress - but in reality this meant the hotel and pool area were very quiet during the day.
The hotel is central for all attractions - and we are already planning our return visit.
Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful property - colocated with the Ritz Carlton, the two properties are joined in the middle by the spa complex. This is a huge hotel with stunning architecture evocative of the Far East or South Asia - a grand entry hall with a huge fountains and arches, red marble on the floors. The conference facilites are huge and have a spearate entrance off to the side which is very handy. Without exception, the entire staff of the hotel was very professional and very courteous. I really enjoyed using the large, professional size gym at the spa every day - free for guests.

This hotel is sophisticated and self-contained. Families with kids may want to consider another property if you ar elooking to walk somewhere and buy something because there are virtually no shops or stores or food outside the hotel within walking distance. I loved the hotel for this fact, but take it in to account when considering this property.

By far the jewel of the Marriott properties, the JW is opulent and beautiful. But you must realize, this is a 900+ room hotel and as such, it has the potential to feel crowded, with lines and tight spaces. My wife was unable to get seated at any of the restaurants without a 2 hour wait; a co-worker and I waited 30 minutes for a seat near the evening bar to get a glimpse of the barkeep or waitress.

Other than crowding and a very pricey valet for the car (the self park lot fees like it's a state away) the hotel is charming and a pleasure to stay in, if you don't get lost.

A final note, I did grab breakfast at the Starbucks downstairs (yes, long line of 20 people in front of me) but it showed up on my card as the JW Marriott as an addd bill. I hope they reconcile that OR put the bill on the master room account!

Room Tip: I prefer a high floor facing the pool and the back of the property (away from the nearby roads!)
