“Another Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 days ago NEW

Just did another week here at CPGV. Absolutely love this place. Clean, convenient, lots to do... etc. etc. (I used to be a concierge in this area and worked in about 30 different places. This is the best I've been in.) Already planning another trip back.

On first entering, I think our hearts sank a little as the overall first impression was that the place seemed a little tired and dated.
Also the outsides of the accommodation blocks gave off the same impression.
Once we were inside our accommodation we were pleasantly surprised at the size, comfort and facilities of the apartment.
It had everything we needed to live there comfortably for two weeks.
It's a little strange having the 'third' room which can be locked off if it's not paid for and we found for the comfort of the group we'd pay the extra to keep the room.
We had a few niggles with the staff although everything was resolved acceptably.
It's not a luxury resort and we didn't use any of the facilities apart from our accommodation but it is very comfortable and in a great position for Disney, and the other places are all within a short drive.

This resort is in a good location, if you are planning to visit Disney or Universal Studios. Other than a few small things, I found it to be a very nice place to stay. One major inconvenience is the fact there are no elevators. It was a little difficult to get all our large suitcases up to the third floor, but not a major problem. They also do not serve any adult drinks at the small cafe by the pool or anywhere else on the Cypress Pointe property, however, right across the road at their sister resort, by the (free) miniature golf, there is a small store that serves drinks and food. Which, by the way, was reasonably priced and very good. The three children loved the volcano pool and "Charlie" the talking bird in the lobby ALL of the people working there were extremely kind and helpful. We did pay the extra charge for the wi-fi, but I did not think if was terribly high and we found it to be of sufficient speed. The kids were able to play their games, so I know it could not have been really slow. Cell phone service was also kind of spotty, which made it impossible to use the hotspot on my phone. I have stayed at many resorts in the Orlando area and although this is not my favorite, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get on the first floor, due to the fact there are no elevators

I have stayed at Cypress Pointe Resort twice now and think it offers a really good standard of accommodation and a great base, close to Downtown Disney.
Staff are friendly.
Accommodation is spacious and well maintained.
The pool is great and always plenty of sun beds!
The poolside cafe is extremely good, with excellent snacks and lunches and really friendly staff.
I will definitely stay there again and would recommend this accommodation!
As with most accommodation in Florida, you do need a hire car to get around!

Stayed in a 3 bedroom unit on first floor. Room was Excellent! Resort amenities on the other hand, not so great. They charge extra for everything. Clean towels, Extra charge, Pool table, Extra charge, Ping pong, Extra charge. Pool was ok but the "Kiddie pool" was actually a water fountain you run thru. So my 2 year old had to play on the steps in the big pool. Water slide is also a joke. It is a playground slide with a trickle of water running down. Maximum weight is 100 pounds. They state that they have a restaurant on site, it is basically a hamburger stand by the pool. Not a sit down restaurant. The also stated that they had a miniature golf course. It was in the Phase II section half a mile away. We did not go, but I would not doubt if it was extra cost too.
Stayed here because it is 1 exit away from Disney. We spent 2 days at disney and planned to spend the rest of the time at the resort. Very disappointing. I give the room 5 circles, the resort 1 circle. will not be back.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a ground floor room. No elevators.

Arrived for an 11 night stay at a three bed lock-out. Greeting was the worse I have ever received. The reception team really didnt want to be there.
We were expecting twin beds in our 3 bedroom suite but there was onlt double beds. When queried with reception I was told they dont have rooms with twin beds! So why advertise this? I wouldnt have stayed there. This meant I have to share double bed with my teenage son. Not great.
Next surprise, no free wi fi. The internet connection is chargeable PER DEVICE!. With 3 teenagers, not brilliant. Also, it's not cheap and it's slow. There are also no computers on site; you have to travel across the road to twin site.
The suite was spacious and everything worked excess the main shower was as powerful as a gnat peeing. The suite was clean. The beds sheets were only changed once in 11 days which I find unacceptable.
The whole complex was clean and tidy and the pool was great. It's large enough and ranges from 3ft to 5ft deep which is great for kids.

Room Tip: stay somewhere else

Lovely resort, great accom and location. Not a friendly greeting. And housekeeping nags you on departure day. 10 am departure begins with knocking starting at 8:30 and continues periodically. Really?

Pool, location is nice and little cafe is meticulously run.
