We stayed here on first trip to Orlando from Scotland. The room was big, with 2 double beds, tv with lots of channels, bathroom with shower. The room had huge windows which let in daylight and our room looked onto the pool and a great view of the lake at wetnwild. It was beautiful view to see everyday. The location was excellent, bus stops right outside with loads or restaraunts around. Universal, islands of adventure and wetnwild were within walking distance. When going to disney we got the lynx bus for only $4 return. The room was cleaned daily with new towels everyday. We also ordered dominos pizza to the room. We never ate in the breakfast room in the morning as it was on too early and not a lot to choose from, however the ponderosa have a buffet breakfast for only 3.99. This hotel was excellent value for money and when we return to Orlando we will def be staying at this hotel.

I have just read the most recent review of this hotel and I couldn't disagree more with the points made. Firstly, the hotel is clean and we had our sheets changed several times (we were there for 7 nights). The rooms are huge, with an amazing view. At night it is just beautiful to see the sun set over the lake. The fridge is just so handy especially when you arrive back at the hotel desperate for a cold drink! The bathroom has everything you need and we always had lots of towels.

The breakfast is free so anything you get you really should appreciate especially since the cost of this hotel generally is so low. Its basic - coffee, tea, juices, toast, bagels, rolls, cereals, waffles with various spreads (cream cheese, jam, butter). Actually when I see it written down I'm quite impressed. Our first morning we grabbed a few bits and pieces and sat over at the window watching sun rise over the lake. You can also take things back to your room - not bad for nothing! The other great freebie is the wireless internet. Especially being able to print out boarding passes etc in the hotel lobby (for free - remember they'll charge you about $5 for 15 minutes in nearby pubs).

The area itself is ideal, its just off international drive with a huge car park. We love staying in this area because its close to wet n wild, sea world and universal which we love. We also mastered the art of taking buses which were dirt cheap! We got a bus to Disney and it cost us $2 each. If you do want to take the buses I suggest you visit www.golynx.com and print out any timetables that you need. The number 8 bus runs the length of international drive, past sea world and stops at the two malls either side of i-drive (there is a stop just up from the hotel - look for the paw print). This bus is every 10 minutes and it's really regular. The number 42 also passes the hotel and takes you to the florida mall as well as up and down international drive. The fare is $2 per person and try to make sure you have the right money.

I really loved staying here, it's so central and handy for everywhere. We really prefer Universal so it was handy to be able to walk to it. We did take a taxi back and it was about $6. If there is a group of you that price is the same! You are also quite close to the pointe although I would recommend a bus. We walked there one afternoon and it took us about an hour - it was 2 miles in 94F not a great idea!! The pointe has loads of things to do with wonderworks right beside it. There are also lots of nice pubs, restaurants and shops right beside the hotel.

Finally, we have been to Florida 3 times now and not once have we been asked for money. We were out late several times and no one approached us at al. I feel bad for the poster on here who has been approached but i really feel this is in the minority. My husband loves KFC and was never approached by anyone. I've never heard of anyone having this experience. Perhaps because they were American the people felt they would be able to approach them? I'm not sure but all we have had is positive experiences. As for queuing well as my husband will testify I do like a nice, organised queue. I hate people who push in front. However, this will happen anywhere! Some countries just don't queue - that's a fact. I would say if someone does push in front of you then they could be American, British, European - anywhere! Don't take it personally and enjoy your holiday. I know one man pushed in front of us on the ET ride. We took it as a joke - he was our age and desperate to get his intergalactic passport to see ET ;-) You're on a holiday you've got to let things go I'm afraid. As for people driving on the wrong side of the road I saw nothing like this. No accidents, not even a beep of the horn! My friends stayed there recently and drove, both from Scotland, and found it no bother.

If you look for things to complain about you will - it's all subjective!

Universal was wonderful and the new Simpsons ride was fantastic. I saw the new rollercoaster and it looks terrifying!

If you are looking for a night out and a good laugh try Sleuths. Its a murder mystery dinner show. We had such a great night and again it's on i-drive so really handy (near Ripley's believe it or not).

Finally, I want to say again what a great stay we had. The staff at the Ramada Inn are lovely and really friendly. The room was excellent and always quiet! Thanks Ramada!

This hotel is very economical which was the main reason we booked here. We were in town for a National Dance Competition being held at the Dolphin in Disney, which was outrageously priced, so we picked the Ramada to save money. It is located in a very congested and major tourist area so traffic is a nightmare. Having had a recent knee replacement, there are not ample handicap parking spaces and people parked in Handicap spots that did NOT have a handicap permit. My husband brought it to the attention of the management, but nothing was done about it. Parking is free. Beware that they charge you $2 a night for the safe in your room, whether you use it ot not. I only noticed this while looking over my receipt on the plane and I intend to get it refunded, since I did not use the safe at all.

The room was average but comfortable. It was clean and the housekeeping did tend to the room daily, but the sheets were never changed which was disgusting, especially since we were there for 9 nights! EW! The rooms all have a nice view of the lake, pool and Wet & Wild. The toilet in the room was extremely low to the ground and you had to hold the handle for almost a minute to get it to flush and it was extremely loud. There are only a few channels available on the TV and you can't order a movie. We attempted to go to the free breakfast once and left immediately. No real selections, the coffee pots were empty and not refilled and it was crowded with people cutting the line and no room to sit. There is a microwave and small fridge, iron, ironing board and a hair dryer in each room. Shower had plenty of hot water. There is free wireless interent, but it is very slow. There is a computer with internet access and printer in the lobby you can use free of charge, which came in handy to print out our Boarding passes before we went to the airport.

The Staff is monotone. Not rude, but they certainly do not go out of their way. Kids enjoyed the pool but on two evenings, we had to get out because the pool was full of dead bugs...gross! The pool is on the small size and the lounge chairs are old and dated and need of replacement. The pool deck is extremely slippery and there is no lifeguard on duty at all. There are a few video games near the pool and my husband left with the high score on Pac-Man! The elevators take forever and it's a bumpy ride. The lake had baby aligators and turtles and it's filled with liter around the sides. There is no room service. I called for a wake-up call and they never called us at the time we asked....luckily I had also set my cell phone alarm to go off or we would have missed our flight.

This hotel is close to Universal, Sea World and Wet and Wild. It is FAR from Disney. It is a good 20 minute ride via the Highway (Route 4) and at least 30 minutes taking Sand Lake to Apoake. There is no great deal on the tickets sold in the lobby as they advertise, FYI. It's about a 15 minute ride from the airport. The area is very very very congested and one evening it took us over 15 minutes to pull out onto International Drive to go to eat. This hotel is smack in the middle of a major tourist area. Many of the tourists are from England and a few times we witnessed them driving on the wrong side of the road and almost caused an accident. We also noticed that many of the tourists are rude and pushy, often cutting the lines in stores and at the buffets. My six year old daughter was literally pushed out of the way at the buffet and when I said something to the man about how rude he was, he completely ignored me and kept right on helping himself even though it was not his turn and he cut several people. I was appalled.

There are many choices for dining and all of the restaurants are competing to get your business so you can get a decent deal. I recommend CiCi's Pizza Buffet, Sonic and Perkins all of which are on International Drive and about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. As you exit your room there is a small amusement park with a Sling-shot ride that is kind of like a big bungie ride. It sits two people at a time and sends them shooting into the sky. It was amusing to see how high some people got! My kids really wanted to go on it, but when we priced it we were shocked that it was $25 EACH and the ride lasted about a minute or so....totally overpriced. Be mindful of your surrondings on International Drive--two times we were approached and asked for money. The first time we were in the drive thru at KFC and the woman walked up to our car and asked for money to get a bite to eat. She was clearly drunk. The second time, I was leaving the Bargin World right near the hotel and I was approached by a young man that was very strung out and asked for money to "put gas in his car to get to the hospital where his girlfriend was delivering his baby and he forgot his wallet at home". Hey, I am from New York, I have heard all those types of stories before!! When I said no, he got a little aggressive and a man selling discount tickets to Disney came out of his booth and kindly came to my aid and told the guy to get away from me. It was very unsettling since I had my young children with me and they got scared.

Overall, I would not stay here again. While the price is right, there were just too many headaches and I did not feel comfortable at all. If you want a bargin, this is the place to go. If you want a nice vacation, spend the extra bucks...I regret not doing so. Next year for Nationals, I intend to spend the extra money and stay at the hotel where the competition is being held.

Fantastic location near all bus stops if you can be bothered waiting 30 mins up to an hour, Orlando do not cater for non drivers you even have to be careful crossing the road when green man is on as the traffic still go through the lights!!! However Ramada is a great value hotel.Jonathan the receptioninst is lovely he is friendly and helpful even at 4.am!! I would advise to skip the breakfast as its very poor stale bread and bagels. The view was spectacular from the room. All in all I Would return to Ramada.

The view over the lake was nice & it appeared the room had been recently painted/carpeted. However, none of that helps if the place is dirty. The housekeeping was absolutely terrible. My family had 4 different rooms. One group started on the 3rd floor & the room had all kinds of problems. They got moved to the 7th & had a bug infestation. They finally joined us on the 11th floor where it seemed none of those problems existed. However, the housekeeping was dreadful. There were remnants from previous tenants. We intentionally left a few items on the floor or on the sink or mirror. They were still there after it was "cleaned" each day. Sheets weren't changed over our 3 night stay. I think the beds were made & shampoo/soap was stocked but that's it. I guess that's how they keep the cost down. Next time, I'll pay alittle more and go elsewhere.
Sidenote: After 1 day, we skipped the contintental breakfast. It was stale cereal, bagels & bread. There was no waffle mix for the irons & the fruit bowls were empty. Orange juice & cranberry were also just water (apple juice only). Combine that with an overcrowded small hot room & it's a disaster.
