I went to Islands of Adventure with maybe too big of an expectation. I dont think that it built itself up to all the hype around it. The long lines were NOT worth it! I much rather be in Disney, but thats just me.

We recently went to Universal's Islands of Adventure during our vacation and let me tell you. This is the most state-of-the-art theme park around. Not to mention it's simply the best. An amazing experience through and through. Great rides, great food, and a great experience is what Islands of Adventure is. They start you off on Marvel Superhero Island. There's a behemoth coaster called the Hulk which will definitely please coaster fans. Instead of building up speed by dropping you off a ramp, you are shot out of a tube at 65 mph. An awesome 3-D simulator of sorts that is worth the trip alone called Spider-Man is also here. Dr. Doom's Fearfall which is pretty good too.
Then you're off to Toon Lagoon. Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls (flume ride) and Popeye's Bilge Rat Barges will surely get you drenched. Then you head to Jurassic Park. The only cool ride here is the River Adventure which sends you down 85 feet of pure fun. Then it's the Lost Continent. A twin coaster called Dueling Dragons is excellent is here which counts as two rides (Fire track, Ice track). It's floorless which adds to the fun. And there's a really cool show about Posedion.
Suesslanding is fun to walk through, but there are no thrilling rides.
That's about it for the rides. And there's a great dining spot called Mythos'. If you have the money, check it out. If not, bring a lunch or dine cheaper. There's a pretty good burger place at Marvel Super Hero Island. Overall, a great park for people of all ages. If you go to one theme park in Florida this summer, hit Islands of Adventure. And make sure you go on a Tuesday. The lines are much shorter. Otherwise, get ready for upwards of 90 minutes. Not joking.

This is the best amusement park I have been in a long time. Amazing rides, beautiful food area, and good organization. Don't miss Spiderman or the Poseidon Show. Take another set of clothing if you are planning to go to Popeye: you WILL get SOAKED, but it's super fun. Try to get there before opening so you will be in the head of the crowd. Start from Hulk and continue your way on that side, (paying attention to show times so you don't miss them) and end up in Hulk again. Spiderman will have the longest wait in the park: suggestion: go an hour before the park closes. You'll still have to do the hour, hour and a half line, but at least you have already seen the entire park. Rest before going to the park, it is a strenuos day. But definitely, if you love rides, this will be the highlight of your trip!!
