“Getting a good deal at the Ritz....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

Firstly, this is an exceptional resort with an amazing hard working staff. I must say this is one of my best experiences with a hotel staff. They go out of their way to assist you.

Price: getting the best deal isn't that hard. You just need to figure out what package you will really use. To start simply go to the Ritz website or call in. We selected a "stay 4 nights, get one free" package. Why? (as opposed to others) - this package also gave us 3 things we would normally have paid for - free internet for 3 devices (worth$30 a day), free parking (worth $20 a day) and free daily breakfast (worth around $70 a day for 2 people). That's a savings of $480 in 4 days.

Sunday TIP: if you can book in for their legendary BRUNCH. Very good!!

Upgrades: If you speak really nicely to the front desk they may upgrade you to a better room with a better view. Standard room is just fine. But, I wouldn't make the big jump to a suite (going fro $200 a night to $600). Spend your money on 2 other things:

a) if you want to spoil yourself by the pool --$200 a day gets you a very nice cabana with a TV by the pool.

TIP: if you spend $200 in food and rinks the fee is waived ;)

b) Spa. Ok, this is one of the best spa's around. It's very expensive and worth it. Again, if you ask the front desk, they may give you a $25-50 credit to use. Note: an 80min massage does cost $206.

Cons:
Not many. But i did have 2 issues with the resort:

1. Internet - the internet does not extend to the pool. I check many times. That's really annoying if you like to surf with your ipad, etc...

2. Gym - the gym is great. But! you cannot use the change rooms. I thought this was very odd. You can use the change rooms IF you book a spa appointment or pay $30 to use the change rooms (and other spa facilities). So, note to Ritz staff - i think guests should be able to simply change to use the gym.

If you like to shop i suggest you take the short drive to the Outlet Mall close buy.....they have some great stores like Prada ...and when do you ever see Prada on sale?

Enjoy! This resort is beautiful.

Room Tip: See comments in my write up - there are some great deals to be had.

Have a small dog you hate leaving at home? Well, we finally took advantage of their doggie policy. A one-time fee of $250 (assuming Fido leaves no messes) and you can bring the dog whenever you want. Your first visit you get a woof sign for the door, and a all natural ingredients bone, some bowls, and disposable bags. And no mean looks, only a thrill to have our little miniature dachshund with us for the weekend. They even have an area set up that is dog friendly. Our little Katie was already spoiled, now she is just a little Ritz Princess and the bandana says so.

Room Tip: The best room is an executive suite, it gives a little insulation from hall noise and for the hall f...

My three day stay here was one of my best hotel experiences ever. The attention to detail by the staff is apparent and reflects in service quality and physical appearance of the roons and all of the hotel grounds and facilities.

While the stay was on the costly side, you were not "nickle and dimed" for the many amenities such as bottled water in the rooms. The room was also generously stocked with personal comfort items such as quality soaps and shampoos, grooming items and a bathrobe and slippers. Housekeeping tended the room twice daily and did a great job.

You will pay a bit more for a stay here but the added value in quality is obvious.

You expect a Ritz Carlton to be an excellent hotel. Room was top quality and a bed that I could happily stay in for a day! Huge pool (and use of the JW Marriott pool next door), great bar etc etc. but the staff are truly awesome. My kids kept asking why people were always opening the doors for them! It's a way to Disney but not bad for Universal but who wants to go to the parks with a hotel like this.

The Orlando Ritz-Carlton lives up to the Ritz name with a beautiful hotel and outstanding service. The front desk girl couldn't find my reservation and was a little incompetent, but my annoyance over that quickly dissipated by the extraordinary service the bellman provided. He went above and beyond with a tour of the hotel, our room amenitites and a complimentary Norman Love chocolate dessert. The room and grounds were lovely and I enjoyed drinks at The Lobby Lounge both nights I was there. Room service was good and lunch at The Vineyard Grill was excellent. The location is definitely out of the usual I-4 hustle and bustle, but is convenient to major parkways that will get you around Orlando quickly.

My husband and two young children recently visited this property. It was our first stay at a Ritz Carlton and was well worth the money. The hotel is beautiful and surprisingly, family friendly! We were traveling with a 4 and 2 year old, and we were looking to stay at the hotel for the majority of our stay, rather than visiting the usual Disney attractions. The pool was great, and as a Ritz Carlton guest, you also have access to the JW Marriott pool and lazy river. Our kids had as much fun at this hotel's pool as they would have at an attraction. Be prepared to be treated likely royalty by the staff. Highly recommend for a family of young children!

As with all other Ritz-Carlton's that I've stayed at, this hotel was amazing in every aspect. The service was friendly, the rooms were very clean and the atmosphere in general was just beautiful. I've had some people ask me why they should pay the prices of hotels of this quality; the answer all depends on personal preference. I've stayed at two-star to five-star hotels and I'd rather pay for quality if I'm not home in my own bed. I have found that Ritz-Carlton's hotels are just some of the best, in terms of quality.
