“Perfection”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

I am a great fan of Drury and this property doesn't disappoint. Excellent in every category. Just a couple of minor quibbles:

1. Unless you are a computer programmer, do not touch the thermostat. I am constantly amazed at why hotels buy such things. How about a little round Honeywell that everyone can operate.

2. And then there is the clock radio which is the bane of all travelers. I dare you to set the alarm correctly. The sound out of these radios is uniformly poor and and I would be surprised if anyone really uses them.

3. The rewards program is wholly ungainly. You have to go to a separate web with yet another password to access or redeem rewards. Absurd.

“Location! Great hotel, great perks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Not much more to say about this property. Awesome perks for travelers (mid day snack special, breakfast, and free drinks) all contribute to a warm and comfortable spot in a great area. The closeness to Universal was great and a shock (didn't realize it was SO close; didn't even have to get back on the highway) and there were plenty of restaurants and shopping areas around. The front desk staff was helpful with directions and laid out all the hotel amenities available. The wife claimed that the beds were super comfortable, and I always trust her assessments in these areas. Late checkout was available with no hassle once we asked (after the initial 11 a.m. check out time). This was our first time staying at a Drury hotel and I look forward to finding more on my travels because they have a great thing going. Definitely recommended! I can see why it's rated so high on TA and the value was GREAT!

“Please build more Drurys!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

Drury Inn once again hits it out of the park in terms of service and value. I wish they were everywhere so we could always stay there.

A free shuttle runs to Universal, and the staff was excellent about letting us know to get our tickets when we came down to breakfast as the morning runs book up early. Drury is the last stop on the way to the park, which is great. It is also the last of 4 stops on the way back, but the longer ride doesn't matter so much then.

A shopping center across the street has a Whole Foods with lots of prepared food and buffet choices, as well as several restaurants. There is also a 7-Eleven and a Wendy's withing walking distance. Between the excellent breakfast and the more-than-a-snack evening snacks, we definitely never went hungry.

“great stay.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

i a m a regular visitor to the Us especially to orlando, i am also very familiar with a lot of the hotels, i stayed in a five star time share resort for the first part of my trip and needed a hotel to spend the last few days, i saw that the Drury inn was rated orlandos top hotel and decided that i needed to stay there to see what all the hype was about, and i was realy curioius.
well i was not disapointed! the hotel was just off internationdrive and was quite easy to locate, check in was a breeze and we were velcomed by a polite young man who actually happened to be from England. He was quite helpful and very nice, he told me a bit about the hotel and was very welcoming, he even offered to change my room for me if i was not happy with it.(i have forgotton his name )
The room was quite nice and spacious although it had a funny smell to it, i did not bother complaining about this as i wqas only there for a few days.
Location was quite good and convinient, there was a wendys right next door as well as a big k-mart.
The room was quite nice and it was nice to have two t.v in the room and also a door separatng both rooms,
The staff were ever ready to help we even called for extra sheets at 2am and they arrived within ten mins. A young man called ANTHONY was ever helpful and willing to help us when ever we required assitance with our bags of shopping, he was quite plesant and approachable. In fact all the staff were quite nice and polite
The hotel computers were free to use and they had four, you could even print from them, this came in handy for printing our boarding passes.I came with young children and felt quite safe at all times.
The breakfasts and evening meals were amazing, especially in terms of what we paid for the suite, it was not a snack , as far as i was concerned, but an evening meal, meatballs and patsta, salad, jacket potatoes, soup of the day, hot dogs, even alcoholic drinks, and it did save us some momey. the afternon pop corn was a treat too!
I really do hope the hotel maintans it good s tandards and good customer care, if it does it will continue to be a really nice place to stay, and the location is great. its a nice good hotel with good standards i really hope their sucsess does not make them become complacent.
i would definately stay here again.
Thanks Dury inn Team for a nice end to our vacation, were were even given a late checkout for 12 noon which came in rather handy.

“Good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012 via mobile

I must preface this review by saying that I love to travel but hate to stay at hotels. I have worked at a Health Department for 19 years and notice every possible issue.
The room was fairly clean but had not been vacuumed, and the coffee area had not been cleaned which always makes me wonder what else was skipped. The noise level on the Turkey Rd side is extreme. It sounds like a raceway at night - the room amplifies the traffic noise so you hear cars accelerate every few minutes all night long. If you are a light sleeper be prepared. My white noise machine and kleenex stuffed in my ears was no match for the noise. I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed with the bedroom door shut which solved the problem. We were not able to change to the I 4 side but changed to a higher floor that was further from the intersection but the noise level was the same. Regardless, the staff was very nice and tried to accomodate.
The pool was small but very nice. The kids loved the indoor/ outdoor aspect of it. The chlorine level was high ( which I love) so bring goggles - my husband wished he had brought his.
The breakfast and kickback were convenient and helpful for lowering our food cost for the trip. The unlimited soda/coffee was a really nice touch as well. The microwave was always available in the buffet area which was helpful as most of the buffet food was only moderately warm and also provides a way to help decrease the risk of foodborne illness.
The shuttle to Universal/Islands of Adventure could not have been better. It takes about 5 min to arrive at the entry to the parks. It saves the time, cost and hassle of parking and commuting from the parking garage. The extras at this hotel make it a superior value.
The hallways always have a faint pet smell but it is not offensive. I had never stayed in a hotel which allowed pets.
Overall, it was a good value and the staff could not have been better. The beds are comfortable, and they use sheets to cover for the light (down alternative) blanket so more hygienic and greatly appreciated. Each bed has three pillows and there are no nasty bedspreads!!!!
