“Great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

We stayed there for 4 night in June 2014 in a deluxe studio. The room was wheelchair accessible so the bathroom was very large but there was limited shelf space in the room. The room it's self had limited storage for 3 people. It was a short walk from the front desk.

The location is about the best you can get on Disney property. We were a short walk from the back entrance to Epcot and a quick boat ride to Hollywood studios. The pool area is the best that we have seen at any Disney property.

We would recommend this property based on location.

If your planning to spend time at EPCOT or if you like lounging by the pool, this is a top choice! The pool includes a pirate ship slide, sinking sands, and a lazy river. You will also be able to walk to the International Gate of EPCOT. If you enjoy a clambake, Cape May Cafe is a must. I'm not usually a fan of buffets, but this one is as good as any restaurant and there's something for everyone.

Stayed here 3 nights in May 2014. Villa included kitchen and living room area. Nice space when you have kids. Bathroom was a little strange - 2 separate sinks which was nice, but shower and toilet were in the same area with one door, and the tub and 2nd sink was in another area without a door which meant when I was trying to get ready for the day before the kids were up there was no door to close. Furnishings were a little old and could use an update, but overall very nice. Limited space for unpacking - can't imagine staying here a week or more and having enough space to unpack without living out of a suitcase as there was limited dresser space. Kitchen was adequate and had enough supplies - dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and a great dishwasher to throw everything in at the end of the day. Resort itself is gorgeous and in a perfect location with plenty of things to do - a walk to Epcot, boatride to MGM Studios, you can see fireworks every night, plus a movie on the beach. Nice restaurants, although expensive. Dinner at Cape May was pricey, but I guess worth it if you like seafood. Worth the money for the character breakfast as the buffet was fabulous and we saw Minnie, Goofy, & Donald Duck twice. The remaining restaurants are surprisingly Disney "polictical red tape". We had decided one evening to be casual and wanted a simple sandwich/burger dinner at the ice cream parlor, but although we grabbed a table outside, we were told we could not order nor take the food outside, but had to wait 45 minutes for a table inside. So we ordered from the bar restaurant by the pool, but again "regulations" as we could not order food to go from the bar but only by the pool. Other than that, fabulous hotel., gorgeous grounds, perfect location, plenty of things to do. Great store/walk away restaurant that has everything you could possible need or want. I had made reservations at the Villas for me and my kids, and a separate room at the Beach Resort for my parents. My parents were upgraded upon check in to club level, but nothing special for me. Not really that big of a deal, but when one person makes the reservations for two parties, it's a little disappointing that one party is upgraded and another is not.

Room Tip: We were automatically placed by the "quiet pool" which was nice.

We stayed at this hotel during Memorial Day weekend in a 2 bedroom villa. The villa are nice in size and had plenty of room for the 5 of us (4 adults, 1 child). The hotel is right next to the Boardwalk and Epcot which is great for walking to a restaurant or right into the back of Epcot. The main pool has a sandy bottom, water slide, lazy river, and an area for the little ones. The only downside as with any Disney pools is that you can’t have drinks anywhere near the pool. It would be nice on a hot day to sit on the edge of the pool with a drink. The outside food station and bar was packed and you had to wait a long time to grab lunch or a drink.

Other great features of the hotel are the Sandcastle Club for the the kids, the arcade and large gift shop/market.

We are DVC members and this is our home resort. We have been here several times since 2005 and the rooms don't seem to have been updated at all. The furniture, rugs, appliances, etc. show their age. For the price, it is definitely not as luxurious as you would expect. This time we had 12 people, so we booked a 2-bedroom and two studios. There are a very limited number of 2-bedroom units, so most times they put you in a 'lock off', which is a one-bedroom connected to a studio. The arrangement is a bit awkward, as there are many doors. The worst is the strange bathroom arrangement in the one-bedroom unit. To get to the room with the toilet you have to walk through a bathroom with a sink and bathtub and another room with a shower and a sink. The halls are very long, so be sure to ask for a room close to the elevator if you don't want to start and end the day with a long hike. We had rooms 320-322 (lock off unit) which were close to the elevator and faced Epcot, so we were able to see the fireworks from our room. One of our studios was 340, which was noisy because it was next to housekeeping, and the staff was quite loud (although happy) when they worked. Just a few things to keep in mind when reserving and checking in. We arrived at 10am, and had requested early check in if possible. One of our rooms was ready at 2:00, which we appreciated. Since our last visit, the smoking area just outside the door to the villas has been removed, which is great, as you no longer have to walk past smokers with your children on the way to the Marketplace, lobby, or pool. The location of the villas is perfect, as is the amazing pool, which is shared with the Beach Club and the Yacht Club. It is very convenient to be able to walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk, and Hollywood Studios is a short boat ride away. Tip: Take your first left after you walk out the front door and follow the path behind the Beach Club rooms. It takes you to a gate opening to the pathway to Epcot close to the bridge to the Boardwalk and saves time and steps. Regarding the Marketplace, it was annoying that it does not open until 7am. When parks open at 8am, it is almost impossible to eat breakfast and get where you want to be in an hour. They have improved their selection of healthier foods, but it is still pretty limited. Drink cups now have a chip, and you pay for the time period you are there. 'Length of stay' cups cost $17.99, so a large family staying for a week spends quite a bit just on beverages. The cups can only be refilled at Hurricane Hannah, Beaches and Cream, and the Marketplace.

If you love Epcot, MGM, and the Boardwalk, then this resort is for you! We stayed in January 2014. It was so easy to go to Epcot you can really walk there and enter through a different entrance that is on the other side of the "world" right next to France. It made going to dinner there super easy and convenient. MGM is only a 5 mins boat ride at the most! We missed one just as it was leaving but only have to wait 10 mins for the next. The Boardwalk is straight across and a boat goes back and forth! We stayed in a one bedroom with a pull out sofa in the living room there was 3 of us so it worked out fine, we hardly saw it! I think one day we took a break to play Disney edition Clue. Being so close to Epcot and MGM was nice and everything else was an easy bus ride away. If your looking for easy access is these parks the beach club is a great place!

The Beach Club Villas, as others have pointed out, are smaller than Old Key West, but all other villas are smaller than Old Key West. Beach Club has many other pluses that give a a five star rating in my book. The staff is wonderful. The pool is truly my favorite on-property pool. Even if you wanted a quieter experience, the Villas' pool is quite nice as well. I absolutely love walking out of the lobby and seeing the lake and looking across to the Boardwalk. It is perfect walking distance to gain entrance to Epcot which makes this THE perfect place to stay during the Food And Wine Celebration. Another big perk for me is Cape May Cafe. It has two, all you can eat buffets that are not grossly crowded. The seafood buffet at night is outrageously good and the Character Breakfast is charming. Beach Club is also one of the resorts that decorates with gingerbread at Christmas. The gingerbread carousel in the lobby is always beautiful.

Room Tip: There are various size balconies at the villas. Ask for one with more room if you are going to be s...
