We stayed in a two bedroom villa and it was spacious and well appointed. Loved having a full kitchen and a washer/dryer. The building is very close to the main hotel and bus stop. Although this hotel is not on the monorail, you can reach the magic kingdom via boat ride which is super convenient with little ones. The hotel pool isn't the best among Disney hotels but it has a small kiddie pool and a small basic waterslide. We are not DVC owners, just wanted to stay somewhere with extra space. These rooms do not have daily maid service and you must take care of your own garbage...not a big deal, but we weren't aware of that until we got here. The building itself is beautiful as is the main hotel. I would stay here again...but not as my first choice.

Absolutely love the atmosphere of the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge and our stay would have been perfect if it were not for the most awful mattresses. Mattresses in both bedrooms squeaked, poked and were generally uncomfortable. When your going all day at the parks with young children a good nights sleep is really in order, and that definitely didn't happen because of the mattresses. Management really needs to address this.

I am a long time WDW visitor who started going before Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom existed. I have stayed at almost all of the moderate resorts and toured a few of the deluxe and budgets. When my husband, a WDW newbie, and I decided to visit this past winter, we knew we wanted to try a deluxe but the prices were tough to swallow, especially knowing we would spend a lot of our time outside of the resort. A friend told us about DVC Rental Store (http://dvcrentalstore.com/dvc-resorts/the-villas-at-disneys-wilderness-lodge/) and while initially it seemed too good to be true and I was scared I would somehow miss some of the Disney magic, it turned out to be hands down one of the best vacation decision we have ever made.

For $200 less than it would have cost us for an equal number of nights in a standard room at Port Orleans, we stayed in a deluxe studio villa, Unit 3503, 365 sq ft that has a living area, kitchen area, balcony, one queen bed, bathroom and sink/counter area as well as a fairly large closet, fold out sofa bed and fold down dining table. For the two of us, it was perfect and felt like our own Disney themed apartment. We had been told the Villas are less themed than the main lodge (Disney regulars know what I mean) and while this did seem true compared to other WDW resorts I've stayed at, it didn't lessen the experience for us and there were still some fun hidden Mickey's, including in the hallways and lobby.

Speaking of which, the main benefit of the Villas over the main lodge, aside from price, becomes crystal clear when you walk around the Villa lobby and the main lodge. During our stay, we almost always had the lobby to ourselves in the evenings when we returned from the parks, with a few people quietly coming and going. There's a fireplace in the main lobby as well as the adjoining room, which is filled with comfortable rockers, oversized chairs and window cushions. There are some cute animal carvings and the same wilderness décor as the main lodge, though more wilderness and less American Indian themed.

The main lodge lobby is impressive-grand and large and open and full of interesting features. It's also filled with people, at almost all hours of the day. People arriving, departing, going to the onsite restaurants, lounging in the numerous chairs and sofas, sitting in the rows of rockers lined up in front of the fireplace. By no means is this bad-it's just noisy, somewhat chaotic and very busy feeling. We walked through that lobby in the early morning, the late afternoon, early evening and late at night and it was always busy. The Villas, on the other hand, felt peaceful and quiet, secluded and relaxed. You could read a book in front of the fire without listening to kids running by, families arguing about what to do with their day or servers at the Whispering Canyon. Our room opened onto a quiet hallway and we only heard our neighbors once (and Mr. Neighbor was shouting on his balcony, so had he been talking in his room, we never would have heard him). In the main lodge, the rooms open onto that lobby and we talked to a few people who had trouble sleeping due to lobby noise. Over in the Villas, we slept great and just entering the lobby was instantly calming-it was like another world from the main lodge. We still had access to all of the same amenities-restaurants, shop, arcade, gym, etc. But it felt like we were a world away-truly in a national park lodge and not just a theme park approximation.

Staying at the Villas gives you all the same perks as the Main Lodge, including location and transportation options and even without the amazing price we got through DVC Rental Store, we would have enjoyed this resort for its theming, rooms and amenities. Discovering how peaceful and calming the Villas were compared to the main lodge was icing on the cake.

This is one of our favourite Disney hotels! The lobby and pool theming are outstanding!! Great bike trail to Fort Wilderness and bike, as well as boat, rentals are available there. Good dining options.

Transportation to parks is fine but I would recommend allowing a bit of extra time as a cushion when taking the Ferry. There can be some peak times - especially around Christmas/New Years when the ferries get a bit behind capacity. As long as you aren't in a rush the extra 20 minutes is fine if you happen to need to wait for a second boat and generally we always get on the first boat that comes outside of the busiest times.

Hello Everyone!! I stayed here the night before our cruise with Disney. As such, I did not spend a whole lot of time here to enjoy all the resort had to offer. My wife and daughters utilized Disney's Magical Express to get there. DME is their free bus service from Orlando International Airport. Generally, when you arrive at one of Disney's hotel properties you are greeted heartily with a "Welcome Home" if you are staying the Villas. Alas, as the family and I got off the bus, this was not the case. I had utilized online check in the week prior to attempt to speed the process up. It asked approximately what time you would be checking in, I assumed it would help with the room distribution. We had selected a 1200 arrival (check in as at 4pm, but if the room is available, its yours). We got there a little after 1pm and it was not ready.
The lobby is well appointed and it reminiscent of the old pacific northwest lodges of the 1900s. It is also similar to the Grand Californian in the Disneyland Resort. There are several restaurants on the property and we ate at the Roaring Fork for lunch and breakfast. They have the usual fare of burgers, fries, salads, flatbreads, oatmeal, eggs, waffles, etc. It did have a wonderful chopped salad that would have been big enough for two people.
Just after 4 pm our room was finally ready. There is a pack n play already in the closet and we needed another one as we have twins. It took about 15 minutes for them to bring one up. On a good note, you don't need to bring a sheet for it as one is provided. We stayed in a studio villa which includes a kitchenette (mini fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and a small sink). The room can sleep 5, two on the queen bed, two on the sofa pull out, and one on the murphy bed under the tv. The room was more than spacious to fit the two pack in plays. We stayed in the last room at the end of the hallway. It was a little hike, but the nice part was we overlooked a small service road and trees. There was not a whole lot of hustle and bustle.
I am a Disney Vacation Club Member and this was my first time at this particular hotel. I would have liked a little bit better of a greeting upon arrival, but that is like complaining about the glove box on a Porsche. While I didn't see a whole lot of the resort, based on my stay, I would stay there again and stay longer to enjoy the ambiance of the place. Another bonus is that you are on the opposite side of the Seven Seas Lagoon, which is a quick boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom. I hope this review helps you in your decision on where to stay. Have a great vacation!!!

We stayed in room 4539. The lobby for the villas is beautiful as is the rest of the wilderness lodge. We stayed at the lodge on a previous stay on the concierge level and I highly recommend but our room in the dvc rental was disappointing. Outlets did not work on several plugs, walls were poorly repaired and too many bad coats of paint, If this was a recently renovated room I cannot imagine what it looked like before. Carpet pulling away from wall around baseboards and baseboards were dusty. Really love the wilderness lodge and will definitely stay again but not at the villas.

We stayed at the villas at Disney"s Wilderness Lodge during March 6 to March 10 of 2015. There were 4 adults and 2 children for the two bedrooms villa. It was perfect as there were two bed rooms two baths with spacious living room which sofa bed for extra. The villa had washer and dryer, kitchen with microwave, refrigerator, dishwasher, and oven. Our room was on the fifth floor away from the elevator, which was a bit on the far end of the building. Next time we would request for the near elevator which will serve us better with all the shopping bags each days. Disney was a great experience but the villa was a perfect recharging for the next day adventure. The magic band was quite a treat for shopping (no coin nor changes to bother with),and fast pass, and room entering. Staff at the lobby may have better "Disney living a dream" charming than the house maids.
Beautiful pool area but during the week of our visit it was too cold. The exercise room is on the villa lobby area which was very convenience.

Room Tip: high floor but near elevator
