“Quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of the parks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 2, 2012

My family and I recently rented DVC points for a 7-night stay in a 2-bedroom villa. We could not have been more pleased with our accommodations.

The villas are secluded and very quiet, yet just a short walk away from Wilderness Lodge itself.

We found the pool and hot tub area clean and relaxing, and never crowded.

Transportation to the parks is easily accessible. The bus stop is about halfway between the Villas and Wilderness Lodge, and the boat to Magic Kingdom, while a bit of a longer walk, is still within a reasonable distance.

We had no complaints at all about our room. Everything was in good repair and clean, and we were supplied with adequate towels.

All in all, we had an excellent experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in the future.

“Wonderful hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

We checked in on Nov. 20th to stay 5 nights at the Wilderness Lodge. When we arrived, the security guard called the desk to let them know we were coming. When we pulled up out front, someone was waiting for us with all of our paperwork because I had already checked in online. She explained everything to us quickly and we were on our way. The one room villa was very clean. The kitchen was fully stocked with plates, utensils, cookware and glasses. It was nice being able to fill the refrigerator with food to save a little bit of money by not eating at the parks so often. The bathroom was very nice. There was a shower and toilet in one section and a sink and bathtub in another section. This saved us a lot of time in the morning because 2 of us could get ready at the same time. Everything was very clean and there were more than enough towels. The beds were comfortable as well. Our housekeeper Mary made us new towel animals every day and took very good care of our room. At about 9:30 every morning there was a short wait for a boat to Magic Kingdom and a short wait for a bus to the other parks. We never waited more than 10 minutes. The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The Christmas decorations were lovely. The Mercantile Shop had everything we needed, including milk, snacks and toiletries. We also had a wonderful dinner at the Whispering Canyon restaurant. What fun! We will definitely be staying here again.

“Nice remodeled Disney Property”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

After 10 previous Disney Hotel experiences, I believe this is one of the better properties. With a nice pool and a warmer feel to the open areas, most will find this experience to be more than adequate despite the only average staff. The updating was nice, but the menu changes, the inadequate bus service for this price point, are some of the shortcomings. The hotel is somewhat over priced but that is part of the "Disney Experience." You will see more of this as you visit the where park which is noticeably trimming costs significantly over the last two years to keep profits up. Improvements could be made, but overall this is one of the nicer properties if you have children and can afford the price tag.

“Great location!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012 via mobile

Love the rooms, the pools and the best part is that it is right on Disney grounds. It has a bike trial and a night water parade, just make sure to take some mosquito spray. But other than that it is amazing :)

“Long Weekend at Wilderness Lodge Villas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

My wife, 12 year old daughter and I recently spent three nights the Disney Vacation Club Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge. We stayed in a one bedroom unit which consisted of a bedroom with a queen size bed. The bedroom had it's own sink and jacuzzi tub. There was a single bathroom with a sink and shower. And the living room had a fold out couch, table and chairs and a kitchen with an oven and full size refrigerator. There was much more space than we needed, but we had DVC points to use that were going to expire at the end of this year.

The entire unit was very clean and comfortable. The bed was great and my daughter said the pull out sofa bed was very comfortable. We did not have maid service as we only stayed for 3 nights. The kitchen seemed well stocked, but we did not cook. Our unit had a garden (woods) view. We were on the first floor, so we had two patios with furniture outside.

The resort is gorgeous and the theme is great. The hotel lobby is incredible to see. The mercanatile is well stocked and had everything that we needed. There are two pools. One is large with a slide and is closer to the hotel. The smaller pool does not have a slide and is closer to the villas. My daughter really enjoyed the smaller pool.

We had a rental car, but we also used to the boat launch to the Magic Kingdom. It can be a long wait for the boat as it seemed there was only one boat going back and forth between the resort and the Magic Kingdom. We were not in a hurry, so that was OK. We used the bus once too which was fine as it's a direct bus with no other stops.

Checking in went very smooth as I had completed the online check in process a few days before.

Overall we thought the resort was great and we would stay there again for sure. The only disappointment was the quick service restaurant. It was small and congested and it became frustrating at busy times. It's nothing like the quick service restaurants at The Contemporary and Polynesian resorts, which are very organized and quick.
