One thing I was looking forward to my entire trip was spending a night at the River Roost Lounge at the Port Orleans Riverside resort.
If taking Disney buses The River Roost is at the South Depot. Get off the bus and walk into the main building and the lounge is right there on your left.
While there I partook in a Captain's Mai Tai which was good but a bit strong (but then again I'm not a drinker), a Pina Colada which was very sweet and easily the best drink I had all week and a non alcoholic Wild Strawberry lemonade which was very sweet and very good.
But as good as the drinks are, no one comes to the River Roost Lounge on a Wednesday-Saturday Night for the drinks.
What makes The River Roost legendary is YeHaa Bob Jackson. He is the hardest working man at Walt Disney World. Twice a night 4 nights a week Bob does a very high energy, very family show that lasts and hour and a half with no breaks except a momentary pause for a drink of water.
Bob gets the whole lounge involved with singing, dancing, and all around good old fun.
Before the show he will go around and personally introduce himself to everyone in the Lounge at the time. During the show he has fun with late arrivals (which I won't go in details to avoid spoilers). After his set he will sign autographs and pose for pictures with both your camera AND his because he posts all the pictures on Facebook that night. (So if your skipping work to see Bob avoid the post show picture lol)
I've seen Bob twice now and will be going to see him again. I don't know where he gets the energy. I was exhausted just watching!
YeHaa Bob was definitely the highlight of my trip and I think he will be the highlight of yours too.
