“January visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

A very clean and pleasant 2 bedroom apt., comfortable furniture and great bedding. Bathrooms and showers were very good. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.
One disadvantage that we incurred was the fact the building was in the process of having a new roof installed with contractors showing very early in the morning and power washing stairwells and hallways which left us waking up very early and unable to get out of the apt with water flowing down the stairs and hall.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

My wife and I returned April 1 2015 after a two week stay at this resort, and from the minute we walked through the reception area I knew I was going to like here. The first words I heard from the staff were: "Hi welcome to Grande Villas" and I believe they meant what they said, because I certainly felt welcome, the front desk staff are very well dressed, friendly, professional and very helpful. First week I had 3rd floor of the Bird Cay parking lot view so requested a pool view for second week, and Steve the Manager on duty worked very hard to get me a pool view since the resort was at 100% capacity, Something he didn't have to do but did it and then asked if this would be OK, wow! Anyway the Resort in spotless, the grounds are manicured to perfection, the housekeeping do not stop and always friendly and polite. We had a one bedroom and it was very clean, and king bed very comfortable. All utensils we needed and all Cuisinart appliances. if you need anything one phone call and you have it. No need of being bored here as there is lots of activities for everyone young and old, live music twice a week, karaoke once a week, card games, pool side dance, huge sundaes for 3 bucks bingo with decent prizes like T-shirts and beer for 5 bucks a game. beer tasting and lots more and they will give you a calendar with everything listed, about 9-10 different activities per day, plus call you and leave a list of activities for the day so you don't miss anything. Time Share people don't push it on you either, and they give you a welcome package, on that note Time Share owners I spoke with seem very satisfied with this resort. Location is perfect close to everything from shopping to Disney. Canteen on site has everything in it from groceries to prepared food, you may pay a few dollars more but not much for items here, but that is to be expected for convenience. For any negative reviews you read about here, disregard as some people just love to complain, like the guy who was below me complaining he could here the patio door, spoke to my wife about it when she was sitting on the deck, lucky I was in the shower, I was going to go down to his unit but decided to let front desk handle it, they have security for any issues like this, If people want to complain about things STAY HOME! nobody wants you around, to ruin their vacation. You don't own the place, and people all work hard for their earned vacation, and they deserve a relaxing time I am not 18 and I love the music and kids laughing and playing, that is what life is about. Some say the resort is dated, well a new house is dated a few years after it is built. so take that with a grain of salt, they have installed the new swipe locks while I was there as well, Hats off to Diamond and the people who manage this resort, Well Done!

Room Tip: top floor pool view quieter all building surround two pools so any pool view is nicer

The one bedroom units are glorified efficiency units...yes, there is a full kitchen minus a dishwasher, but the sofabed is in the kitchen. The description on the Diamond Resorts website is correct, but the unit is perfect for a single or a couple. I traveled with a friend who knew she would be occupying the kitchen sofa. Funny thing...IT WORKED! The bathroom is huge and has two sinks, plenty of towels and storage. Storage for the guest occupying the kitchen is sparse. It was manageable. I am a Diamond owner but had been coming to this resort for many years through Getaways with Interval International and other discount booking sites. I love the convenience store located near the Turtle pool....lots of options for poolside eating and relatively inexpensive. The store will deliver to the villas if you like. Best location...you could walk to the Winn Dixie and a different restaurant every night if you chose to forego renting a car. Only disappointment was that when they renovated the poolside restrooms, they made them completely handicapped accessible but removed the shower which was nice to have when you had a late flight home. I have to say that they offered to see if they could find me a unit to use where the guests were arriving late in the day, but I declined. I appreciated the gesture, but thought it was too much trouble for everyone concerned. My stay was for two weeks and they gave me fresh towels and emptied trash midweek. A full cleaning was done after one week. I am already planning my 2015 stay. A word of caution....if you are accustomed to Marriott Resorts, you will be disappointed...this resort is older, has been through many different managements and Diamond is working on refurbishing the two bedroom units....but it will take time...the people and the location are wonderful....there are elevators at Grande Villas but not at the neighboring resort called Cypress Pointe...do not get them confused, you can use both facilities but Grande Villas is a Diamond Resort and Cypress Pointe in not. I asked for a high floor and to be near the Turtle pool and both requests were honored.

We had a wonderful week at the Grande Villas. We were in Building F 4th floor poolk side. We had the entire 3 bedroom unit. It was extremely well manitained. We were welcomed at check in by the concierge. We have owned for almost 20 years but this is the first time we just hung arounf the pool. It is great and the snow birds were so much fun. Best location around. Check out Johnnies Hideway and Sea Dogs.

We loved the activities here, especially all the aqua aerobic classes, the ice cream socials and the free mini golf! The staff were awesome and friendly. We stayed in porpoise cay bldg and we loved our 2 bedroom timeshare! A great week and close to downtown Disney!

We are Diamond Resort owners and travel often. Of the MANY timeshare resorts we have stayed at, the Grande Villas are by far the nicest. Exceptionally clean, comfortable accommodations with up-dated decor, kitchens with granite and full size appliances, flat screen televisions and great amenities. We have a large family and having plenty of space and bathrooms as well as full kitchen enhances our vacations. We have brought extended family, to the Grande Villas, and everyone has been impressed and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. For those complaining of out dated decor, I can't imagine that they stayed at the Grande Villas. What they describe sounds more like the units at Cypress Pointe which is across the road and also affiliated with Diamond Resorts. I would not hesitate to recommend the Grande Villas!

The bathrooms are huge, the kitchens are stocked with everything you'll need. Don't forget you have an oven to make pizza if you like . Gas grills, fun stuff like ice cream socials for the kids . The on-site store is awesome with tons of stuff for a reasonable price. ($10 cheese pizza). Beer and subs too. Free laundry. You will live this place!
