“Solid Courtyard”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2007

This Courtyard is in a triplex of Marriott's along with a Fairfield Inn, and SpringHill Suites. Even still, parking is not a problem. My fiancee and I stayed here for a Disney trip, even though we live in the area because we love Disney! Check-in was smooth, and the pool
area was nice and seemed everyone was enjoying themselves, but we didnt use it.

We stayed in a one king room, and it wasnt anything special, just a solid, clean room at a good price that weve come to expect at Courtyard. Bathroom's were fine for that level of hotel. We ate at Bahama Breeze (a Darden Restaurant) which is right next door to the complex, and I would recommend it to all of you.

Would strongly recommend this hotel for all who are in the area, but mainly or families who want to do Disney, but dont want to pay the price of staying on property.

We stayed here June 17-21. It was okay. Nothing to brag about. The grounds & lobby were very clean, as well as the pool area. The staff at the front desk were very helpful. The rooms could use an update. Mildew & mold in the bathrooms. Can tell this used to be a smoking hotel, as the rooms still have that odor. Sheets on the king beds did not fit, kept lifting off, which was not pleasant. We got a decent rate online, $85/night, pre-paid online. However, when we checked in, we found out that we had a room facing the parking lot, with no balcony. It was fine, but if you plan to stay longer, it might be worth it to upgrade. The restaurant/breakfast cafe was not that good. Buffet items should have been hot, but were warm - at best, but there was variety. Restaurant staff were not that friendly. This hotel is very close to Disney parks, and only about 10 miles from Universal Studios. Also close to shops & restaurants. It rained a few nights we were there, and aside from a small game room, there is not a lot to do with older kids at night. Vending machines in women's restrooms on this property were all broken. Might choose another hotel next time we visit.

I would recommend this hotel if you are only staying for a short period of time. Had my trip been longer, I would have been disappointed. I found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. We asked to changed rooms to a balcony view and they did so without any problems. We asked to have late check out on our last day and unfortunately they couldn’t do that for us, but they kept our luggage and let us use the facilities until we left for the airport. There is no wow factor nor any bell and whistles at this facility. But, it was a great value and it provided us with what we needed for our short trip – decent room, friendly staff and pool with an outside bar!

This Hotel is far from the airport and Nightlife. I would rent a car if you plan on leaving the hotel each day as we spend a lot of money on cabs. Renting a car for 3 days would have cost us less!

Very disapointed with the housekeeping, very rarely were we left any coffee packets or paper cups or complimentry shampoos & on one occation we were left used shampoo bottles. The room appeared to not have been vacuumed once in our two week stay, The balcony was never swept and the bedding was not changed every three days as promised. This is a shame because the hotel was nice and a great location if only the housekeeping was of a higher standard.

  • Liked — The balcony with view of pool.

We choose this property due to the excellent location and the price; $52 NT. For the price, we were satisfied. It was your average 3 star property. Front desk was friendly. Housekeeping did minimal requirements. Our biggest disappointment was the layout of the property for the pool view rooms. The entire one side of the hotel the rooms are all looking down on the roof with air conditioners and other mechanical equipment continually running. Our balcony overlooked this. I asked to be moved; they were unable to move us to a better location. The "moderately priced" breakfast was $11.99. What a joke when the Fairfield and Springhill include a complimentary hot breakfast. Would I stay at this property again? No. There are too many other better choices in the area.

We were in Orlando for 2 nights for a seminar at a nearby hotel (Hilton). We would have stayed at the Hilton, but they didn't have any non-smoking rooms. This entire hotel was a no smoking hotel, so no such problem here!

The hotel was huge. It was part of a complex including a Fairfield Inn, a Residence Inn, and another Suite hotel. Considering the size of the complex, it was run very efficiently. There was plenty of free parking, convenient to the room. My parents stayed at the hotel too, to visit with us in the evening. Both of us had our rooms upgraded, which was nice. We ordered the room rate which included the hot breakfast buffet, and it was very nice. Eggs/omlets made to order, and plenty of variety. The rooms and common areas were clean, everything worked, and the staff was friendly and efficient.

Although we did not bring the kids, the location would have been perfect for a family vacation. Convenient to all of the parks and attractions. The pool looked nice, although we did not have a chance to swim due to our schedule and cool weather.

The only problem was someone else's, but is worth mentioning. In the morning we saw a family who's SUV had a hole smashed through the rear window during the evening, and a suitcase stolen. Empty your car if you are driving one! This could happen at any hotel, so it is a problem with the area, more than a problem with the Marriot.

This hotel is your average 3-star Courtyard -- nothing special. The hotel was relatively clean, but little frills.

I found a live tiny bed bug the first night when I pulled back the bed covers, but didn't see any others the rest of my stay. Also, had to request a fold out luggage rack for my room. It was supposed to be in there, but my room didn't have one.

I was disappointed that they only have "wired" free internet access with a short cord. Why not wireless? They have wireless next door at their Fairfield chain.

Rooms have a small refrigerator, which is a plus.

There was some mold and mildew in the corners of the bathroom and shower, but the rest of the room was fairly clean. The air conditioner was so noisy, that I had to have the TV volume almost all the way up to hear it. I turned the air off one night so I could sleep.

Parking was somewhat crowded, although they have plenty of Hertz rental spots reserved near the lobby entrance. The back lot is not well lit and we had to park near an open spot filled with glass from an apparent broken car window. Didn't leave a good feeling of security, but we didn't have any problems with our rental during our stay.

We did not use the pool or the Disney park ticket sales counter during our stay.

All in all, don't expect much more than average and shop around for the best 3-star rates in the area.

  • Disliked — No WIFI in room; Bed bug found in bed.
