“Perfect Hotel for a Disney Vacation”

We had originally booked a room at the Fairfield Inn as part of a flight+hotel package booked at a superb price via a UK Travel Agent however when checking-in I enquired as to the cost of a possible upgrade to the Courtyard and they told I could stay there at no extra charge. On checking-in across the "street" we were delighted to find that our room was a King Size Suite with in-room jacuzzi. Double upgrade !

You have to bear in mind the above fact when considering my review as it goes without saying that a large factor when choosing a hotel is value-for-money.

The Courtyard (Marriott Village, LBV) is one of three Marriott properties adjacent to each other located within pleasant grounds including a Manned Security Gate at the Entrance & a large fountain at the centre of the resort. Located between the Courtyard & Fairfield is a row of food outlets featuring Pizza Hut, Starbucks & several other types of food which service the 3 Marriott hotels. I've read in other reviews that parking was awful yet we experienced nothing of the sort & whilst the hotels weren't full during our stay there were ample parking facilities adjacent to all 3 hotels even late at night.

Our room was perfectly equipped & tastefully decorated. There wasn't a great deal of natural light due it's position on the Ground Floor tucked away in one corner of the property but we had a very pleasant terrace area & as the room was so comfortable we didn't bother to move to an alternative floor. Nice large screen flat panel tv, comfortable beds & linen & large shower area. Towels were on the small side but always fresh & plenty of them.

As a bit of a veteran in visiting Orlando a large number of times, the main benefit of staying at this property was it's superb location to Walt Disney World & the rest of the attractions, shops, etc within the area. In terms of Disney there can be fewer better places to base yourself other than within Disney's boundaries. On leaving the parking lot at the Marriott you are approx one mile from the Main Entrance to Disney & within another mile you're at Downtown Disney. Despite many of the hotels and villa's around International Drive & Kissimee being within the Disney area, it can still take you anywhere between 20 & 45 minutes to get to the parks. The furthest park from the Mariott is the Animal Kingdom yet it still only took 10 minutes to get from the Parking Lot to the Marriott which means it's little hassle to nip back to the hotel to freshen up before heading to a restaurant or elsewhere in the evening. Additional to Disney there is an Interstate Junction adjacent to the Marriott Village so within 5 minutes you can be within the International Drive Area.

To summarise we enjoyed a fantastic 14 days basing ourselves at the Courtyard Marriott Village. Yes, we were lucky enough to get a "double" upgrade but a combination of pleasant hotel, lovely room & superb location left me thinking that the hotel was the best of it's type that I've stayed in when visiting Orlando's atttractions. Superb.

We were initially booked into the Fairfield, which is a sister hotel in the same complex, the room we were allocated there was horrible, so after complaining we were moved to the Marriott and a suite at that. The suite was large and clean, with a small kitchen area. We had a king size bed which was comfortable. The complex had every facility you could require, laundrettes on every other floor, plenty of food outlets if you wanted to stay in your room and was in easy walking distance to a handful of eating establishments. We particularly enjoyed the Bahama Breeze restaurant across the car park. The pool area was clean large and also well equipped with plenty of towel’s and loungers. My only gripe would be that our bedroom was next to the ice and drinks machine which we could hear when trying to sleep.

“Great Location & Room for Downtown Disney”

We only stayed one night as we were going to Cirque De Soleil at Downtown Disney - which was only a mile away and fantastic ! We found the room to be clean, quiet and large enough for our family of 4 which consisted of me & hubby + two teenage sons. Our room had 2 queen beds and although the matresses were soft they were comfortable as we all slept well. My husband & I were up early and ate at the buffet in the dining room (Breakfast for 2 was included in our room deal) which was very good. The fresh squeezed OJ really hit the spot. When the kids finally got up they went to the coffee shop in the courtyard and had Krispy Kreme donuts so they were happy! I really can't complain about anything. Perfectly fine hotel to stay at. We also went to Boggy Creek Airboat Rides and had a blast there! It is a bit of a drive but you get to see pretty countryside instead of concrete and cars. We all loved it - got to see gators of course and also an eagle caught a fish right before our eyes! We got the brochure at the hotel which had $1.00 off coupon on it. We would stay there again next time we go for sure!

“Super 8 quality with a Marriott name.”

Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista in the Marriott Village

I have stayed in numerous Marriott brand hotels over the last couple of years, and I can say this was one of the worst in terms of both quality and service. I originally intended to stay at the Fairfield Inn next door, but I was given an "upgrade" to the Marriott when I checked in because there were no two-bed rooms left, despite having requested and paid for a two-bed room 3 months in advance. I was told the Courtyard had been recently renovated. Nice. At least that's what I thought at first. Whatever renovating had been done was obviously hurried, cheap, and could not off-set the terrible housekeeping. Various stains on the sink and a few stray hairs. Black hairs in the bed when I pulled back the covers. Hair in the shower, mold on the shower curtain. Stains on the toilet. Lovely. I was told I could not be moved to another room because they were "sold out" and it was too late at night for housekeeping. I guess I was just lucky they had one room left when the Fairfield dumped me over there?! Yeah, right. So I sucked it up, thinking housekeeping would take care of the issues the next morning after I left for the day. Nope. When I returned that evening, the towels had been replaced and that was it. Nothing else had been touched. As an added bonus, part of the ceiling in the bathroom had come down. When I informed the front desk, "oh, sorry about that" was the response. Super helpful, thanks. I checked out.

Oh, and if the rooms weren't so bad, I still wouldn't stay here again for the following reasons:

- Parking was atrocious. Good luck finding a decent parking space if you're coming back to the hotel anytime after 4pm.

- The so called "food court" was disgustingly dirty, understaffed, and full of unsupervised children.

- Simply overpriced. Do NOT pay more than $100 a night. Trust me, you can do better.

“Great base for the Orlando experience”

Courtyard Orlando Lake Buena Vista in the Marriott Village

A good hotel that is 15 miles from Orlando Airport and less than twenty mins from attractions like Seaworld, Wet n Wild and Disney Resort.

I would recommend contacting the hotel directly to get the best rate they can offer you, as they seemed to have some deals on when we were there.

I would recommend taking breakfast at the Corral restaurant just around the corner, the choice is extensive and it is not too pricey.

The rooms are OK (two doubles) and the rooms are serviced daily.

The gym and pool are OK, but the "indoor" bit is small and is only a small fraction of the main outdoor pool.

Overall I would recommend this hotel and say it is a good base for trips to the Orlando theme parks.
